Check engine light came on. Message came across saying reducing engine power. Then said to service stabilizer. It then turned off traction control. We were driving home from vacation when this happened. After a bit driving the whole car shit off while driving 60mph on a busy highway. The message on dash said it disabled our starter. We almost did not get off the road safely we were in the left lane and could not get to the shoulder. My husband had to make the decision to pass across into oncoming because thankfully there was no one coming.
Driving at about 70mph my check engine light came with with the reading service stability track, engine reduced power an disabled started, service throttle instantly I loss all rmps an my steering wheel almost fully locked while the car was still on motion. Luckily I was able to jus barley veer off the road into safety. Why would a car company have something like this in thier vehicles. That would lock the steering wheel while going at accelerated speeds.
On two different occasions, once about a year ago and again today, my 2011 chev Impala ltz displayed a series of rotating alert messages -- 1. Service traction control 2. Service stabilitrak 3. Engine power is reduced. I was driving about 45 miles per hour on an open road when all of a sudden the engine started running very roughly and slowed down and the above 3 messages repeatedly displayed one after the other. Also 2 yellow lights were flashing and then remained on -- the check engine light and the traction control light (I think). When I reported this problem to the chev dealership a year ago, I was told that because the warning lights and messages could not be reproduced in the service department, there was nothing that they could do. (and I understand that if it isn't broken when I take it in, the service dept would most challenged to fix it. ) today, when this happened I was able to get the car to a safe place to park. I turned off the ignition, waited a moment and then restarted the car. The same 3 messages were displayed with the two yellow lights staying on. When I restarted the car 3 or 4 hours later, only the check engine light is displayed. The 3 referenced alerts were not displayed. I am getting ready to take the car to the dealership again with this problem. Do you have any advice as to how to proceed?.
When taking left turns the car makes a loud grind noise then the stability controll will turn on. Now the check engine light and stability controll light popped on while driving while also having engine power reduced which then applied my brakes causing me to almost go off the road.
Got a message on my dash a few months ago about "service traction control" while driving. Traction control light lit up also. Parked car and turned car off then on. . . Message gone. Took it into service. . . Showed no error codes. Today (5/2/16), it did it again with the traction control light and the check engine light simultaneously lighting up. "service stabilitrak", service traction control", and "engine power is recuded" are the messages I got today along with the check engine light and the traction control light being on. I had just gotten off the highway so I wasn't going fast when this happened. I was close to work so I parked it at work. Turned the car off then on again and the messages were gone and traction control light was off but check engine light stayed on. Turned car on again at lunch 1. 5 hours later and the check engine light is off now so I doubt anyone will be able to diagnose or fix anything today. Taking it to service to see if it threw any error codes a little later today. I've researched this issue and found that this has happened to a lot of people while on the highway. If it happens to me and I'm in an accident because of this, I will sue the s**t out of gm. I have two small children and if any of us gets hurt or killed, there will be h**l to pay. This issue should absolutely be recalled. It is not due to my key/ignition issue. Already handled that recall. Losing power in the middle of the highway randomly is absolutely dangerous and I'm now very afraid to drive this vehicle. Will never buy another Impala again.
While driving the traction control, stabilizer, engine power warning all come on and the check engine light comes on and sometimes the engine turns off. Pull off road, will not start then minutes later it starts. Check engine light stays on. After multiple starts the check engine light goes out . I have read multiple complaints about this ,yet the nothing is being done. To repair this problem. The effects of this is the same as the ignition turning off. Pending on traffic. This could be deadly. This has happened alot.
I begin noticing issues when taking off from a complete stop where the vehicle would lunge forward like it couldn't shift into first gear. I had that checked and nothing showed as an issue, so the mechanic said it had to be electrical. This weekend I am driving it and after 25 minutes in the car the check engine light comes on, as does the notice that my engine power has been reduced, and to service the stability traction control system. I was coming to a stop light when it came on and I pulled off to turn off the car and restart it as that would work when it failed before to reset the system. It didn't reset and I had to drive it with reduced power the rest of the way to my destination. I had this fixed a couple years ago. I did get a notice from gm about the issue and the ability to be reimbursed or getting it fixed if there was a current issue and I was able to get reimbursed for it. Now it is happening again, but my mileage is too high to get it fixed under this repair notice because the letter says that the mileage coverage is only up to 120,000. If this is a known issue and I have already dealt with it before, why should I have to pay for it to continually fail when it has nothing to do with normal wear and tear, which I would have no issue fixing as a part of maintaining the vehicle?! this should be something that gm would fix every time it goes out because it is clear the issue is a malfunction of the overall system and not linked to anything that the driver does or doesn't do to maintain the vehicle properly. In addition what if it has to be replaced multiple times as is the case with mine. I have always been a devoted gm customer, but honestly I am not sure I will ever buy another gm after this issue. It is unsafe and provides anxiety when driving, because it might fail at the worst time and could need fixed again even if I fix it this time.
Service traction control and check engine lights came on this morning. Then a message saying my engine power is reducing. I just bought this car 3 weeks ago. I called gm customer service and they told me there was nothing they could do, even though there was a recall regarding this because it was over the 120000 mile warranty (but I just bought this car 3 weeks ago!!!).
When your at a complete stop vehicle gives a hard jerk like someone has rear ended you. All of the Impala's have a failed transmission pressure control solenoid which can cause accidents when it jerks very hard causing someone to run into the back of another vehicle. No check engine light or anything will come on letting you know the problem. Years 2000 to 2015 all have the same problem. Needs to be recalled before someone seriously gets injured.
Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The mechanic advised the contact that the thottle body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 77,000.
While driving along a curvy river road my check engine light , my traction control and the stabilize light came out. Then the engine reduced power. Barely made it home. Waited for a few minutes restated the car and it ran normal but still feel the car hesitate. Every time I drive it I worry that its coning to do it again. I live in the part of the county that gets snow and am worried its going to happen durning a storm, this needs to be addressed.
I was driving and suddenly the car lurched and the check engine light came on as well as messages that said, "reduced engine power, check stabilitrak and service traction control". I made it home and parked the car in the driveway for a day and a half and when I started it again, the messages were gone but the engine light was still on. I brought it to my local dealer and when they checked it, it came up stored code p2122- accelorator pedal sensor. I have had this car 6 months and it only has 42426 miles on it and now I've had to spend over $300 on a repair. It is ridiculous that this sensor failed already. After doing some research, I found that this is a common problem with many people experiencng the same thing. Gm should be forced to fix this issue and reimburse all of us who have had to pay to fix their mistake. They are obviously using inferior parts and their consumers are paying the price. It's no wonder the american car market needed a bailout when their parts don't last 40,000 miles.
The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated while traveling various speeds, the check engine light illuminated and the vehicle lost acceleration power. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the speed sensor failed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000. The VIN was unavailable.
As I was driving down the road my car lost speed drop from 35 mph to 20 mph, the check engine light came on and the triangle with the car and skid marks then it kept flashing the service stabilitrack control, engine power reduced, and service traction control and it started to jerk and jump. I have been having major issues out of this car first it was the right hub (eating tires), then the left hub (eating more tires), then the transmission and gear shift completely gone (replaced everything) now this plus the front tires are still getting ate up. This is an ongoing problem with this chevy Impala. I am so ready to get a Honda. As I see there are other owners that are having similar problems. Why isn't it a recall on these problems? nobody likes too loose their money for something that should have been taken care of by gm in the first place. What will gm do if all customers protest about these issues that should be recalled on whether its for the public, private, or government sector?.
I started my car after a cold night and immediately got a "service stabilitrak", "engine power reduced", and "service trance ion control" messages. The car had an extremely rough idle and then would not accelerate to more than 25 mph. I returned home and made an appointment at the dealership. Later, I was ready to take the car into the dealer and it started fine with no error messages or check engine light. I called the dealer and they said it must have been a computer error that fixed itself. Well, it's a week later now and I am having the issues again except restarting the engine does not fix it anymore. This is a serious issue and needs to be resolved by gm and not cost the many people experiencing this issue hundreds of dollars to fix!.
On my way to work: on highway all lights came on service traction control, service stabilitrak and engine power is reduced, and my check engine light came on as well.
While leaving from work I made a left turn onto a busy highway and my service traction control light, reduce engine power, and check engine light came on. Pulled over and car was wanting to turn off. Turned off car and service traction control light goes off but check engine stays on. Came home googled what could be the cause and see that many Impalas owners are having the same trouble. . . I see a lawsuit happening if gm does not recall this!.
Driving 30 mph in a small town. A "binging" noise sounds 3 times and the traction control warning light as well as the check engine light came on. Vehicle messaging system stated that to "service stabilitrak," "service traction control," and "engine power reduced. The acceleration was noticeably reduced as well as a significant difference in maintaining speed. Merging onto a highway the cruise control would not kick in when setting speed which made it difficult to manage a 65 mph speed limit.
I was driving down the highway on the homestretch of a roadtrip from PA to FL when the "service stabilitrak" , followed by "engine power reduced" message started flashing. The two lights on the dashboard also went off. Since I was in the middle of the highway, I was unable to find a good place to address the issue, and I figured like most times the "check engine" light goes on, that it was something that I could wait to deal with when I got home. I continued driving for about 15 minutes and then the message changed and said "disabling throttle" or something to that effect, and I felt the engine losing power. I was in the middle lane, doing around 55 miles per hour with cars all around me. I immediately put on my four-way flashers and fortunately people in the right lane slowed down and let me coast to the shoulder but it could have been disastrous. I sat there for a few minutes trying to figure out what to do. Finally after a few minutes I decided to try starting the car again and it started, with just the check engine light on and I was able to continue on my way. Since then it has continued to occur intermittantly. I took it to the dealer, but they told me it was a sensor in the gas pedal but that it was not under warranty.
Driving 2011 chev Impala in city traffic. Service stabilitrak, service traction control, reduced engine power warning messages received. This has happened several times at intermittent intervals in the two years I have owned the vehicle. In some instances, the engine shuts off and all power steering and power braking is lost making it very difficult to control the vehicle. After research, this is a problem that gm needs to address. I have found that if I pull over when the warning messages display, shut the car off, wait approx 10 min, the car will start again, the messages will be gone, and the car will drive normally. The check engine light remains on and then goes off within a day or two.
I have 42,000 on my 2011 chevy Impala and the service traction control and then reduce engine power as well as the check engine light came one. I have read it is the throttle body and not covered under the extended warranty, but numerous people are having the same problem with the same exact thing and no recall or any kind of care is coming from gm. . . . And those of us that are still paying for our cars are getting the short end of the stick. . .
This has happened multiple times to my 2011 Impala. I will be driving normally, anywhere from 45 to up to 65 mph, and I will get a warning saying "service stabiltrack, service traction control, engine power reduced". Usually I can shut the car off and wait 5 minutes, and the messages will clear, but the check engine light will remain illuminated for the next couple of days, eventually clearing. There needs to be a recall for whatever is causing this, because there are a lot of folks with Impalas having this same exact problem. We as the consumer, should not have to pay money out of our pocket, for a problem that Chevrolet caused during the manufacture of this car.
Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph the stability track control light, the engine light, and the reduce power light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact noticed the engine power was reduced while accelerating. The failure occurred while driving at different speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The contact was not aware of the diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 37,562. Pmb.
