I was driving my car and it began to shake and lose power and would not accelerate. The check engine light came on with messages reduced engine power, service stabiltrak. This has been happening quite a bit with this car. I have been researching online and have noticed that numerous complaints have been filed going back years. Gm should take care of this problem as it is happening with numerous vehicles. I drive on the interstate every day and if this happens there I hope it doesn't cause an accident.
The inside of the factory installed goodyear tire split. Approximately 2 months later another tire failed. On 4/13/14 the third tire failed. All split on the inside of the tire.
For several weeks, the indicator on my vehicle will alert me "service traction control; reducing engine power". At first I thought this was just a glich, until it kept happening over and over and over again. There are days when the indicator will go off and remain off for a week or two, but then it will all of a sudden come back on and remain on for a week or so. I get my vehicle serviced regularly. I have contacted gm dealership after dealership, and they have all told me there is nothing they can do. Finally, I asked for the corporate office number (800-462-8782). I called gm's corporate office (reference#: 71-1210614255) and was told that my powertrain warranty is still good but my bumpertobumper warranty has expired due to the mileage. I advised the representative (clair) that I had googled this information to find out what was going on and this appears to be a known issue with chevy implala's, and I asked why hasn't gm put out a recall on this issue. She then tells me that I need to pay and get a diagnostic check to determine the actual issue. My question to her is "why should I or any customer have to pay for something that is a reported known issue?" there representative continued to apologize and tell me there was nothing that gm could do because this was not a known issue. . Rear seat center head rest limits visability, should be a recall on this. It is a definite hazard.
The blend door actuator in the vents jammed. Since March 2013, I've had to fix the same issue 3 times.
I was driving down the highway on the homestretch of a roadtrip from PA to FL when the "service stabilitrak" , followed by "engine power reduced" message started flashing. The two lights on the dashboard also went off. Since I was in the middle of the highway, I was unable to find a good place to address the issue, and I figured like most times the "check engine" light goes on, that it was something that I could wait to deal with when I got home. I continued driving for about 15 minutes and then the message changed and said "disabling throttle" or something to that effect, and I felt the engine losing power. I was in the middle lane, doing around 55 miles per hour with cars all around me. I immediately put on my four-way flashers and fortunately people in the right lane slowed down and let me coast to the shoulder but it could have been disastrous. I sat there for a few minutes trying to figure out what to do. Finally after a few minutes I decided to try starting the car again and it started, with just the check engine light on and I was able to continue on my way. Since then it has continued to occur intermittantly. I took it to the dealer, but they told me it was a sensor in the gas pedal but that it was not under warranty.
I received my first recall notice 14299, in mid August and I am still unable to get this taken care of. The second letter we received in October said the dealership had parts but when I called for an appointment they said they did not have the parts. So far, all they have done is put us on a list for an appointment. The repairs will consist of 2 16 mm key rings, along with an insert for the key slot, or a cover over the key head. If this is a problem with the ignition, do you consider this the proper way for repairs to be made ? supposedly the repairs are to take 15 minutes, and meantime we are driving a car with 38,000 miles on it, that may just stop in traffic. There has to be more done to protect the public, and it seems your office should get behind these repairs.
I,m a 68 year old male driver, who when buying a product expect a quality made american product. I have had two sidewall failures on the oem equipment tires that came on my car. The problems were potentiallyof a fatal nature if not discovered during a routine maintenance check. I own two vehicles with the eagle LS-2 tires,I have been told goodyear does not warrant sidewall failures.
While driving, the following lights came on 3 months after purchase. Service stabilitrak, engine power reduced, service traction control. Turned car off for about 30 minutes, and lights went off and were able to drive home. That Monday, took car to dealer, and were told it was a part that had something to do with the fuel. Out of warrant, but they covered it anyway considering I just purchased the vehicle. Same lights came on again roughly about 6 months later, noticeably when it¿s wet out. Lights would eventually go off after car sits so after reading threads, I assumed this was normal when it was wet out. Late 2013 lights came on again, had wheel bearing replaced and lights went off for a while. Early 2014 lights are on again, and I start noticing hard shifting in transmission, but ignored because I know there¿s no way my trans could be bad considering the car was only 2 years old at the time. Thanksgiving 2014, I was planning a shopping trip to indianapolis, and no lights, but transmission went out. Car would not move whatsoever, and I had to get the car towed. Took car to several dealers and some said it was the trans and some said it was not. Either way, it was going to cost me a whole lot of money I did not have considering the transmission went out 3000 miles after warranty ended. Had transmission replaced, and walllah¦lights are back on. One dealer said I had another bad wheel baring, but did not produce any paper work with the code. Took it elsewhere for a second opinion, and found out that the dealer forgot to connect the line that¿s connected to the wheel baring. Lights are now off and i¿m happy. Today, the day after christmas, now that i¿m flat broke and have $30 to my name, lights are back on and i¿m mentally exhausted. Cannot report as a lemon because I have had the vehicle longer than 1 year, and my warranty is exhausted.
