Vehicle was set on cruise control at 50-55mph when it started to pick up speed. Consumer applied brakes and tried to turn cruise off. To stop vehicle consumer put it in neutral/ applied brakes, and vehicle rolled over some gravel which helped to slow vehicle down and into park. A mechanic disconnected cruise control. Brakes were burned out trying to stop the vehicle. Manufacturer referred the consumer to a dealer to have a diagnostic test done.

Ongoing severe braking problems upon applying brakes on wet roads. It causes extended stopping distances. The vehicle has been to two separate dealers and one repair shop, no one is able t0 locate the cause of the problem. The consumer states that thae characteristics of the problem are the same as those described for the 95-99 monte carlo's-NHTSA sic #011014000; are built on, (the same chasis and use the same components).

While driving stepped on brake pedal and brakes wiould make noise. Noise increased when it was raining or during extended stopping distance.

I took car back several time where I purchased it they said everything ok. Still having problem I took car to brake centers of America in stfd, CT. I still have same problems paid almost $600. Oo for complete brake job and I still have problems and they are getting worse. I sent letter to brake center and to better business bureau back in 12/1999 and have not heard from anyone mean while brakes are getting worse - thank you.

In rain when applying brakes it takes 3 to 4 seconds before there is braking action, pedal will feel hard. Dealer stated that was normal.

While driving 20 to 30mph went to apply brakes and there were no brakes. Vehicle went straight through an intersection. Also, when backing out brakes locked up.

When brakes are applied, the pedal goes to the floor, resulting in an extended stopping distance, the dealer has done diagnostic test and cannot duplicate the problem.

Decreased braking power when driving in rain or wet roads under normal braking conditions.

Anti-lock brakes, when approaching stop at about 30mph and applying brakes there was no response, pushed pedal completely to the floor and car would not stop, ran into a guardrail, dealer ran test and says they could not find a problem. Consumer was informed by another party that vehicle had no brakes.

When applying the abs brakes on dry pavement at 20 mph the pedal traveled to the floor, causing extended stopping distance, resulting in a rear end collision. Cause unknown. Please give any further details.

Consumer states that the braking performance in wet weather or wet condition is reduced more then expected. A recall has been issued on similar problem. Feel free to provide amny further information.

When driving in rainy weather conditions with wet pavement brakes get wet. Vehicle is very hard to stop,brake pedal gets very hard which causes delay in braking, resulting in extended stopping distance. Consumer has contacted dealer, dealer unable to determine the cause of the problem.

When brake pedal is applied there is a clicking sound, then brakes release and vehicle will continue to roll with the brake pedal going to the floor. Dealer has been contacted.

While applying abs brakes pedal goes to the floor. Diagnostic test was done on brake system and no problem was found. Vehicle has an extreme exteneded stopping distance.

Sloan Chevrolet has had vehicle four times attempting to resolve low pedal. Brake rotors were cut which did raise the pedal slightly; brake system was bled.

The anti-lock brakes makes a clicking sound when pedal is pushed as if they are being activated into the skid mode and every time they click the lights on the car dim. So if you go to slow down the brakes click several times and the lights dim and oncomming drivers are annoyed by my lights dimming and brightning.

When driving under wet conditions there is a loss of brakes when pedal is applied . Dealer has been contacted.
