Three problems related to automatic transmission have been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet Malibu. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I have found that in my 1999 Chevrolet Malibu that when the key is in the accessory position in the ignition that the car can be shifted out of park without the application of the brakes.
When the consumer pressed the accelerator pedal the vehicle would not move. The dealer was notified.
While transmission was in the parking gear with ignition running, it jumped out of park into reverse and rolled down hill. Vehicle crashed into a tree. The vehicle is being repaired.
