36 Brake Disc Rotor problem

The front brake rotors keep getting warped and gm denies that a problem exists but a search of this site and several others on the internet prove otherwise. The brakes cause the front end to shake the steering wheel so violently that stopping in an emergency would be impossible. This happens everyday, winter or summer, to and from work which is 20 miles total with 15 miles on the freeway. I had the brakes re-done at 36,000 miles and they started shaking within one month. This shaking continues mildly when driving at 65 miles per hour which also causes tires to wear out. *dimsii ivoq entry posted after 12/12/02 cut-over to artemis**741839.

At high speeds vehicle will experience a severe shimmy while driving due to warping of front rotors. At 42,000 miles rotors were machined or turned, and then at 46,000 miles defect reoccurred, and front rotors had to be replaced. At this rate every 4,000 miles rotors will warped.

44 Brake Disc Rotor problem

I have researched this matter on the web and found others who have had the same problem with the warped brake rotors on GMC cars. This seems to be an issue with the Chevrolet Malibu and her sisters who share the same platform. I believe that GMC is aware that there is a design problem with these cars. No one at the dealership seemed surprised that the rotors were warped. I would like to know just how many brake rotors have been replaced on the Malibu's, Buick regal's, and cutlasses. I think you would find a pattern here if it was researched. Consumers are being misled by dealers as well. I was first told by one dealer that there was no problem with the brakes it was just the way the car stopped with abs, but another dealer admitted to the warped rotors, but informed me that I would have to pay for them. The last straw was the customer service person at gm who told me its all part of normal wear and tear. I told him that I didn't think so on a car that had 13800 miles on it.

45 Brake Disc Rotor problem

Due to severe pulsation and steering wheel shaking when applying brakes, I had rotors replaced at 11,400 miles. . . Dealer said they were warped. Just had those rotors resurfaced at 37,000 miles. . . . Dealer and manufacturer swear normal wear and tear. I wish I knew my recourse so I don't foot the bill. . . The rotors are defective! also concerned about my safety in Malibu. . . Thought it was my dream car. . . . Wrong!.

46 Brake Disc Rotor problem

When applying the brakes vehicle shakes excessively due to bad rotors. Dealer can not remedy the problem.

47 Brake Disc Rotor problem

Front end shakes due to defective front rotors. Also, steering wheel locks up due to defective power steering pump.

48 Brake Disc Rotor problem

When applying the brakes steering wheel and the front end of the car shakes, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. This is due to excessive wear of the brake rotors. Dealer has turned the rotors twice. And the problem still exists.

49 Brake Disc Rotor problem

This is a 6-month old vehicle. Rotors have been sanded down once. Butrotors cause brakes to pulsate when the pedal is applied. The rotors are at the stage where they are going to be replaced. Dealer has been contacted.

50 Brake Disc Rotor problem

I have not had a wreck on this car yet. However, the rotors get so bad that the whole car just shakes and it is hard to control the car on the road. It has been in the shop 5 times and will be going in again today. Please help get these cars fixed or off the road.
