There are many recalls for the year make and model of my vehicle. They just didn't recall my exact VIN. The breaks are recalled, air bags were recalled and they were buying back the vehicles, the fuel delivery system was recalled, headlights were recalled, cruise control was recalled, steering column and yoke was recalled, and a few more. None were recalled for my VIN number when it should have been. I took my car to the dealership today, Chevrolet did a few things under "warranty" instead of issuing a safety recall. (they issued 10 recalls on this year make and model) (one recall was the air bags, my vehicle is doing the same thing). The fuel delivery system and fuel pump was recalled but not on my VIN number. I just really need help getting my car repaired. I cannot afford to fix all of this when there's records dating back to the purchase of the vehicle, showing that there are problems and Chevrolet neglectfully didn't recall it and instead tried to brush it off as a warranty instead of safety recall. My car leaks gas, the steering it messed up, headlights no longer work due to the electrical issue, the instrument cluster was damaged due to the ecm issue, there's just so many problems. . . My car could potentially catch fire for the fuel leak, carbon monoxide smell, electrical wiring and the air bags could potentially deploy.
Steering locks up when accelerating onto highway or any heavy acceleration. Car also will make clicking sounds when this happens.
Electric power steering - 10/2020 suddenly went out while driving. No warnings beforehand. This made sharp turns extremely difficult. It says that my car is not part of the recall, but is still as dangerous as the vehicles that were part of the recall. From the research that I have done, the motor seems to be in good working order. The sensor is what seems to be the issue. Cruise control - 08/2023 goes out randomly. I was on the freeway when it turned off by itself. If I was not paying attention, this could've caused an accident. No warning beforehand. Brake switch - 06/2023 seems to be something wrong with the switch. The brake light stays on after braking. Turn signal switch - 10/2020 does not cancel after turning right. This can potentially confuse other drivers. Fuel pump - 10/2020 the float of the fuel pump is not working. It says it is empty, even after filling it up. It will occasionally show that the tank is all of the way filled during rapid acceleration. This could make me run out of fuel while driving if I lose track of mileage; which could result in an accident. None of the components have been inspected by a dealer or manufacturer. The electric power steering and turn signal are available to be inspected. Again there were no indicators before failure. I do know that there are recalls on other vehicles with the same issues, but for some reason mine was excluded. Some of these occurred before the dates stated, but these dates are when I remember them affecting me the most.
My 2006 chevy Malibu power steering is not working. Nothing was wrong and everything is fixed on it but the steering wheel doesn't have any assist. Vehicle was stationary.
I was driving towards raytown missouri for a birthday party and asni was driving over a railroad track, my car startee making noise and acted as if it didnt want to go. So I later found out that my transmisaion fluid had leaked and now the transmission case needs to be replaced due to the tracks on the road.
Yesterday, when trying to park, I heard a chime and the message "power steering" popped up on the info screen. The car became incredibly hard to steer, so I'm thinking the power steering had shut off. I turned my car off, then back on, and the power steering came back on, so I was able to park the car correctly. When we were about to head home, as soon as I turn on a busy street, just before getting on the highway, the chime goes off, the message pops up, and my power steering shuts off again. I turned (with all my might) into an empty parking lot and turned the car off for a little bit. My family and I were looking under the hood, but we weren't sure what to check for. We eventually got back in the car and went home. Thankfully, the power steering stayed on and we got home safely (17 miles on the highway). I'm just worried that it will eventually turn off on its own again. If I have to schedule a service appointment, I would like to go in prepared this time. A few months ago, when I had a brake light issue, one particular service department tried charging me $500+ for a part. The steering wheel shimmied on it's own only above 50 mph, I tried it out and I'll tell you, it's a two handed fight to keep the car under control.
When driving, go to turn wheel and it hesitates and sticks for a second. Does it very often whether turning left or right. Start the car sometimes and warning bell sounds, power steering appears on radio screen and power steering has failed. Turn car off for awhile, turn it back on and power steering is working again, sometimes. And last, start car, start driving and the gas gauge goes from full down to empty. Warning bell sounds and low fuel appears on radio screen. All these things happen randomly while driving on a street. Have seen recalls for these things on other 06 Malibus but never for mine. My garage wants hundreds of dollars to fix these problems. Something I can not afford.
1. While driving 30 to 45 miles per hours on a city street car 's steering wheel pulls to the right. 2. Immediately after replacing the gas in the car and turning car on the meter reading goes to zero for a day. 3. While driving 30 to 45 miles per hours on a city street notice that cruse-control was engages without it being applied by driver.
I pulled into the parking lot at work and it said engine power decreasing and then started making strange messed up noises and I coasted into the parking lot it didn't die but it wouldn't let me go any faster. I took the car to the auto parts store and had them put a scanner on it. Of which it showed multiple codes all resulting in the same issue the mass flow sensor. I was told that since it has happened once it's liable to keep happening making my vehicle unreliable and I am a single mom.

Our 2006 chevy Malibu low coolant light came on. It was checked and coolant was put in the vehicle. It continued to come on. It was taken to our regular chevy dealer in March 2015 who misdiagnosed the problem and replaced the coolant reservoir. The low coolant light came back on and we were loosing more engine coolant in June 2015. It was taken back to our dealer. We were told it has a cracked head gasket and the leak is internal. The chevy dealer recommended the entire engine be replaced as a precaution because it has over 100, 000 miles. Our 2006 chevy Malibu have been maintained well and kept up with all maintenance. . And for the gasket to be leaking is beyond us. The leak could not be seen to the visible eye. The only way we knew their was a leak was because the low coolant light came on, which was the reason why we took it to the mechanic. We are disappointed with the misdiagnose of our vehicle and with the problem. The chevy dealer did refund us for the misdiagnose of the problem but nothing else was offered or done. Now we have to figure out what to do because we need our car.

I recently sent my car over to global auto mall in north plainfield, NJ. It was there for a week without anyone calling me informing me if the car was finished when they were supposed to fix the recall. I came from the car mechanic today because my car was not working properly and the same items that were supposed to be fixed were not fixed and now I have to spend more money trying to fix it. I would like to be reimbursed for the work that I have done for my car immediately. I don't have money to keep fixing this car and I am willing to go to the media and other legal options that I have. I have kids and a wife to support and this recall did not help the situation.
I filled my car and my guage says I am low on gas. I stop turn off car and restart it's ok for about 2 minutes. And it does it again.
After finding out that there are recalls for my car per dot. Gov, I scheduled an appointment for repairs with vandergriff Chevrolet in arlington for 7-21-14. I requested that they repair the parts under recall and issue a refund for the amount I paid previously for repair to power steering on my vehicle. I was told that someone would be in touch with me. When I did not get contacted, I returned to the service department to speak with a technician in regard to my service request. Once again, as previously, I was told that there are no recalls on my car. When I directed the technician to the information released by the dept. Of transportation, he stated that gm sent out additional recall letters to recall the original recall notices because they were issued in error, and that there are none in effect for my vehicle. No repairs were done.
After four (4) minutes of driving car at 6:30am in the morning, temperature was 58 degree on 7/21/2014, the engine shut off. All powered functions associated w/vehicle did not work. All idiot lights flashed on. The message in display was "engine disabled. " car was pulled over and shut off. After 4-5 minutes of rest, the car was re-started and driven back home about another two (2) miles.

My car stalls and you can smell. Gas. It hasn't been working in three weeks. Now.
While my kids and was driving alone a very busy road. In my 2006 chevy Malibu here in albany GA my car made a cling noise and I didnt notice what it meant by making the noise but however at that very secind my car steering locked up and made it very hard for me to operate. I actually had to control my vehicle with muscle force. So. After getting to a place I can pull over and begin to call my husband I turn the car off and started it back up and it begin to work fine. Well, I had the same problem two days later and so I decide to call a chevy dealer in he begin to tell me that its a recall on these particular vehicles and given another number to see if my vehicle. Had a recall on it. Well, calling this number in waited on a rep. He ask for the make and model of car as well the VIN of the vehicle I gave him the information that was requested then he cane back to thd phone and said theres no recall for this car. Ok Friday may 16,2014 this happened again. I have tried all source thats possible in dont know what to do next. Could someone please make contact with me before this car cause a fatal accident by this particular vehicle.
I was un able to get my car from park to drive. I had to pull extremely hard on the shifter to get it to move.
On 5/07/2014 I got in my car that morning to take my 4 children to school the car started and died 3 times. When it finally did start I couldn't get it out of park! while on the way to school I was nearly hit from behind because my brakes lights failed to function! the problems have gotten worse daily since then. When I would drive the car it would take off on its on, the cruise control no longer functions, I have to try at the minimum of 7 times to get it to crank!! now it is very unsafe for me to drive I can't even take my children to school my nieghbor has to take them and pick them up! I was finally sent a recall letter the last day of July 2014. In this recall are all the problems I am having. They say when called that they do not know when the parts to fix it will become available. What am I to do? I have a car I am paying fo and can not drive!! I can't afford to go buy a different car. I told them since they had no idea when parts would be in to just replace my car and the answer was no!! they also want me to pay to have it inspected. This is their fault not mine I should not have to pay for anything!!!.
My 06, will not start without pressing the gas pedal, also it will show power steering failure when starting,I will have to restart vehicle for the power steering to activate, and while driving the power steering will stop working causing the vehicle to be hard to steer.
Was and the steering wheel locked up while it was raining car stopped and got flooded under the under pass couldn't move the car motor wouldn't start are anything we had to get rescued out of the car due to the power.
The first is the steering sounds like front end is going to fall apart when driving and when I turn corners. The second is the fuel the car constantly shuts off for no reason. And the third is the air conditoner blows from cold to hot.
I have a problem with my car overheating. This car overheated and antifreeze came pouring out of the overfill hose. I had a mechanic check it and fix it, next day same thing. The car anti-theft light come on, the steering wheel sometimes freeze up. This car sometimes turns on and off by itself, yes the key need not be inside. The brakes are horrible and I spent funds to change it. Help!!! this car seems to be a recall big time.
The car stalls when I go from a complete stop into fast-moving traffic. The lug nuts on the wheel covers do not stay securely fastened. I have increasing problems with my power steering function. It would randomly fail and then correct itself initially. Sometimes it would go out when I backed up and then come back when I was in drive. Sometimes it would go out for 5-10 minutes and then come back. Sometimes it would be out for a day or two and then come back. Therefore, I brought it in to the Chevrolet dealership for repair. A few months afterwards, it began to go out again, but just for a moment at a time. This seemed to subside. However, this began happening again from time to time when I would merge onto the freeway. When I accelerate, the power steering goes out completely, the car yanks very hard to the right, and the lights and information display all blink repeatedly. This now happens each time I accelerate to either merge onto the freeway, go into passing gear to get around traffic, climb a hill, or simply quickly speed up on the road. I have brought the car back to the Chevrolet dealership citing this problem, especially since I have just had the problem fixed recently. For all of these, I was told that there is no problem and no recalls for my car make and model. I do not have the option of driving another car or affording a newer one. This is a continually dangerous situation. I am fearful that these defects will cause me and my family harm. When the power steering suddenly went out and the car yanked hard to the right just last night as I went over a raised bridge, I was afraid that I would hit the guard wall and perhaps even go over it. I have had to swerve to avoid being hit from behind because the car stalled as I got into traffic. I do not know if my wheel is loose or if the wheel cover is going to come loose while I drive.
It started since 2013 and new things are just happened what part of your car was affected? engine elec. Stability control seat belts unknown or other.
When I put gas in my 2006 chevy maibu the gas gauge is saying full than I drive it says empty. I don't know when I need gas. . As I drive around the gauge goes where ever. Is there a recall on this sensor issue because I kow 4 other people who have Malibu with same issue.
On may 20, 2014 I filed a complaint regarding the electronic power steering, the fuel level indicator and the clunk noise in the steering system on my car. I contacted general motors by e mail and they gave me a telephone number to call. Today, may 27, 2014 I called general motors regarding their recall for the power steering problem. They informed me that my car was not included in the recall. They gave me the telephone number of a dealer in puerto rico where I have to take the car for a diagnostic. Gm will not cover the cost of the repairs. Why do we have to pay for the bad job the car manufacturers do when they make their cars? there must be a way in which consumers get compensated by these companies for the expenses they impose on us with their defective vehicles. For me this may be the last Chevrolet I will buy.
