1 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 01/17/2020

My fuel pump does not work properly it reads empty. Also I was driving and my power steering stopped working as I was turning. I was very scared of crashing my car. I had to stop my car and turn it off then turn it back on and my power steering was working again. This has happened 3 times in the last 2 days.

2 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2017

Fuel pump pressure sensor not working very expensive to replace.

3 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 02/15/2015

Went to go get something to eat waiting in drive thru and all of a sudden gas gauge went from full to empty and the light came on and the display said low fuel and hte check engine light came on. Me and my husband looked at each other I told him its full. So we got our food and went next door to the gas station went to put gas in and it would take any because it was full. So then all of a sudden the gas gauge said full. It did this off and on for a while then it started not wanting to start it would take 3-5 tries to finally get it started. Then had the check engine light check it said it needed the fuel pump and relay I think that is what it said. So finally we found some one that would replace it we had to replace both the fuel pump and the relay that lets you know when the fuel is at in your gas tank.

4 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 01/23/2013

I was driving at about 55 mph and my car stalled and the loss power came on. I was able to restart and took my car to a local car repair business. They put in a 3 part fuel system kit/acd12568796 throttle body assembly ele and the bill came to $654. 92. The mileage at that time was 153101. I purchased my car from an individual. When I purchased the car April 2013 I knew the gas gauge didn't work but I thought that's ok I'll just keep the tank filled up at all time. But I've been having trouble when it is in idle position. It acts like it is going to stop on me. I've asked the car repair business and they told me it was the fuel pump and I would have to have it replaced which would cost me $700. 00. Also I had the calipers replaced at on 10/5/12 with a mileage of 147005 which cost me $531. 92. It's alway something.

5 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 10/08/2012

Vehicle began stalling. Then, I noticed a strong smell of gasoline, and suddenly gas was pouring out near the muffler on the driver's side rear. Traced the leak once we got it home. The plastic line on the fuel pump had cracked. I lost over 1/8 of a tank after I parked it. I'm not sure exactly how much I lost while driving down the road. I am thankful that there were no sparks before I was able to safely park the car. I fear for the safety of my young children. I might not have been able to get them out of their car seats fast enough had I not immediately taken precaution.

6 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 03/10/2012

I recieved a recall notice gm stating that there was a recall concerning the fuel system ie fuel pump on my 2006 chevy Malibu. This recall cautioned that intermittent stalling may creat a hazardious condition that could possibly result in vechile. As a result I scheduled an appointment to have this condition corrected on the date of the appointment I arrived with the vechile in question and was turned away. The dealership claimed that this was a limited recall and the recall for repair had expired. I was advised of this recall by my regular mechanic while in for unrelated maintance. It was then that he instructed me to make an appoinment with gm to repair this problem with not charge to me. Before I had knowlege of this recall, my daughter was involved with a motor vechile accident that directly related to this problem ie fuel system. The accident occured when the engine stalled on this vechile, as a result another vechile collided with mine causing major damage to both vechiles and potential injury to the 2 ocupants of my vechile. If you need further information concerning the accident I will have to get either a copy of the police report and insurance claim information. Please let me know if this is nessary. Thank you.

7 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 02/06/2012

I have been repetitively turned away by various gm dealerships to address serious issues with my vehicle & potential recalls. My issues include - steering malfunctions making the vehicle difficult to control, faulty fuel pump sending unit causing check engine light to illuminate & vehicle to stall, uncontrollable vibrations when breaking at high speeds nearly causing me to wreck, popping sounds in the suspension system, and finally unexplained electrical malfunctions such as radio switching channels on its own, failure of keyless entry system, failure of remote entry system, buzzing of lights when dimming, and flickering of headlights. I have been told by dealerships that because my vehicle is a "fleet car" that it does not qualify for any recalls. Problems began while under warranty. Steering wiring harness was replaced while under warranty. At around 65,000 miles, systems began to fail despite my regular care of the vehicle which I have documented. After warranty expired, I was routinely turned down for recall inspections. A recent emissions inspection caused concern by the mechanic over the steering of the vehicle and I was encouraged to address these problems again. I cannot afford a new car.

8 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 08/31/2011

I see that there has been a recall for chevy Malibu 2004-2007 on fuel pumps with a part number of tu456. My fuel pump has not been working correctly, and I am not sure if this was part of the recall or not. I am hoping this is one of the vehicles that was in the recall, so nothing happens to me or my family while driving down the road. If so I would like someone to fix this as in chevy fixing this problem. Thank you.
