I brought my vehicle into a Chevrolet center near me to have a manufacturers warranty fix done to my vehicle on 04/17/2021, as the power steering had failed and I was able to get this fixed for free. When I turned my vehicle on and noticed the power steering notification on my dash, I tried to back my car out of where I was parked and move my wheel, but could not move the wheel. When the part was replaced, I was told that there were still sensors on my dash indicating that I needed the esc and stability traction control serviced for my car. According to the Chevrolet dealership, this had nothing to do with the special policy fix and not something they would be fixing for me. After checking the NHTSA. Gov for any recalls on my 2012 chevy Malibu, I found one from may 2014 that described exactly the problem I was having with my vehicle: loss of vehicle stability traction control, cruise control and random illumination of brake lights. I contacted chevy once again about this recall, to which they said there was no recall for the vehicle, and if there was it was already fixed. Not only was this completely unprofessional and lacking concern of safety for my child and I, I do not know where to turn to for this to be remedied. Attached is the ticket for the initial fix I had done.

As I was turning left from a stop light accelerating on the interstate on ramp from 20 to 40 mph (approximately) the "check engine light" came on, the engine slowed down and lost power, and "traction control light" came on even though it was not engaged. My speed control disengaged and would not work on cruise control. When I pulled in my garage (approximately 8 mi) shut the engine off and restarted all warning lights cleared and everything reset. This condition happened to me twicw in the same day. The sudeen loss of power is a serious safety issue.

While driving the cruise control will be set and all of a sudden turn off. The gauges on the dash would sporatically jump up and down and sometimes flatline as if the car was off. When braking the cruise control would engage if my hand pressed the button llocated on the steering wheel causing the vehicle to speed up while trying to slow down. The brake lights would be on while driving without pressing the brakes and would turn on once brakes were pressed. Recall work was reported to be completed January 2015 but problems still persist. There is also a bulletin for special coverage that is limited to 150,000 miles which I don't recieve because my vehicle is over that mileage but the dangers of the vehicle still persist. These problems have been present since I purchased the car 2 or 3 years ago. The last incident happened just 2 days ago. I cantacted chevy and they said they couldn't cover it because of the miles.

When trying to accelerate on the highway and merging if I get close to 3 rpm to get up to 60-65 mph m engine light appears on the dash as well as my traction sensor light and my car will no longer allow me to accelerate. Also after this happens it will not allow me to use my cruise control. This has happened multiple times over the last few months. I took it to my dealership to have it fixed twice the first time they could not figure out what was wrong the second time they discovered 3 of my fuel injectors were broken. I still experience this issue and it is very scary not being able to accelerate on the highway with big semis and other vehicles coming behind me.

Reduced engine power warning 12/29/20 plus numerous occurrences in 2019 while driving on the highway; vehicle slows to 40mph without warning shift to park warning when vehicle already in park, can't shut off vehicle until it recognizes park, often taking upwards of 10 minutes of repeated shifting stabilitrack sensor warning and loss of cruise control, at highway speeds.
I was traveling on 294 south using cruise control at 70 mph when the car started losing power but all internal app lights like the radio remained on and the steering wheel was still functional. Once the vehicle was put in parked it shut off. Only issue lights that appeared 1 week prior was the abs sensor had malfunctioned on the front left tire. I attempted to jump the battery but it did not respond. Car had been parked and a friend who works on cars believes the engine is dead even though there shows 23% of oil left and no other symptoms of a blown engine. I have been goodland 2013 chevy Malibu eco issues and other than potentially the starter it could be the computer that has died. I changed out the battery and it turns everything on, but struggles to crank and remain on. I came across several links regarding a recall due to computer, but honestly don't know if its even that. Mechanic friend believes it could also be the ecm.

Transmission 123 gear slips changes on own try to accelerate stalls downshifts stalls also transmission control module been told will happen when trying to speed up or complete stop or reverse the turning signals will have to be manually stopped interfering with driving barley make. Sound sometimes forget the are on still cruise control totally waked out does what ever it want speed or slows on own I do know of one current recall I've made several attempts to call w no return messages the transmission control module need replaced because the solenoids keep getting stuck 123 mine also the core fee for this is unbelievable 300-600 for the core fee . . Why are these being sold for prices of 500-1000$ if the are being refurbished seems to be a hot item to even find used or new if u could afford it . . These gm transmission issues are everywhere . . . . Why are the no recalls . . This is very unsafe shift failure 45ph to 15ph in a sec . . Or nothing the dealerships are very hard to deal with if you just want a part or info a transmission control module part # 12678511 recall 14v224000 # 14145 dellen Chevrolet 317 462-5591 made a few calls w no response to schedule been 7 days now. My 09 chevy Malibu lt brake lights will illuminate without the brake pedal being pressed. Therefore signalling to other drivers that I am slowing, when in fact I am not. Also when the brake pedal is deliberately pressed to indicate the vehicle is slowing, the lights go out entirely, signalling to other drivers that I am not slowing down when in fact I am! this is a huge safety issue! I parked my vehicle today January 1, 2020 to test the functionality of my brake lights and the brake lights illuminated while I was outside of the vehicle, indicating I was pressing the brake pedal. Once the pedal was compressed, the rear lights went out entirely indicating the brake pedal was not compressed. Also the cruise control of the vehicle has never worked properly since purchasing the vehicle. It will not initiate or maintain set speed causing fluctuations in travel speed. So I refuse to use the feature as this too is a real safety concern.

The abs, esc, and service traction lights came on while I was on the interstate suddenly my cruise control stopped working. I exited the highway and as my car came to a complete stop it started rolling backwards and the breaks locked up so I couldnt stop. It only stopped rolling after putting the car in park, hitting the emergency break, and quickly getting the key out before hitting the family behind me. I tried to turn on my hazards and they wouldnt come on. I restarted the car, and the whole dash was flickering. After trying this 3 times it started, but when I tried to accelerate the car went to 7/8 rpm and did nothing. Then it started to roll backwards again before I could put it in park I was thrusted forward into the center of a roundabout. After that it began to drive. I was less than 5 minutes from a family members home so I tried to make it. I was able to get the car going 30 mph for less than 5 minutes before the speed immediately dropped to zero, and the car began to roll backwards again. My face hit the steering wheel because of the jolt which resulted in facial bruises. The air bags did not deploy. When this issue happened all of the electric in the car started going crazy. I was on a backroad, and luckily a good samaritan stopped to help me. I called my uncle who is a mechanic who towed me back to the house. This isnt the first time ive had issue with these warnings coming up and then I have to suddenly start fighting to survive being trapped in a car trying to kill me. Since this last incident I have not tried to drive the car. After seeing multiple mechanics they confirmed this was a common issue in this year make and model of the vehicle. No one seems to know what has been causing this. This kind of issue could kill someone. It needs to be investigated, and gm needs to be held responsible for selling unreliable, unsafe, death traps to consumers.

While the vehicle is in motion the dash will display the traction control service light and the screen will read service traction service esc, the brake lights illuminate when the brake pedal is not pushed and turn off when it is pushed. The cruise control also can not be engaged. The brake switch was replayed however all problems came back 2 weeks later. All these issues have been on going.
Adaptive cruise control which controls vehicle speed to ensure safe distance stopped working rendering cruise control inoperable. This also caused the forward crash avoidance to not work. Vehicle trouble code uo269-00 stored which resulted in replacing long range radar module to correct for $1055. 00.
I was driving my car in town, I went to slow down my 2003 Malibu the car kept speeding up, the throttle would not disengage until I physically lifted up on the underside of the gas pedal. I immediately took it over to have it checked by a certified mechanic and they also experienced the same exact issues only when the car is moving. They put it on their service computer and I was told that no codes came up and the the only way they were able to get the automatic acceleration to stop was to disconnect the cruise control module. The mechanics shop disconnected the cruise control and it has not happened again since that was disconnected however, this was a extremely scary situation because braking doesn't help the car still continues to accelerate & peel out, putting the car in neutral doesn't help either the rpm just shoot up & keeps going forward.

This has happened multiple times while driving down the interstate. The cruise control is being used and when you go to apply the brakes the car does not slow down but revs the motor up and will not let you slow down. It is frightening to have this happen. If you tap the brakes but doesn't always work or hit the cruise off button it will finally stop. This could be putting us in a really bad situation if you cant get it stopped. Also the esc light comes on for no reason while driving on dry roads. I called my chevy dealer and was told the recall 13036 was already done in Aug 2014 if this is the same issue as recall. If so it did not take care of the problem and needs to be taken care of before it costs someone their life.
Tl- the contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph with the cruise control activated the vehicle failed to stop or slow down when the driver pressed the brake pedal. The contact had to drive on to the shoulder at speeds of more then 55 mph in order to avoid crashing into oncoming traffic. During the incident a 911 call was made and police responded by pushing the vehicle into a median in order stop it and prevent the vehicle from crashing into other vehicles ahead. During the incident the driver indicated that the emergency brake did not operate and the stop/start button was pressed but did not turn the vehicle off. The vehcile was towed to the local dealer bale Chevrolet(13101 chnal pkwy, little rock ar. ) who diagnosed that the failure was caused by a failed engine vacuum that had broke and caused the braking system to fail. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacurer was notified of the failure(case 9-531-1269174) but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 95,000. Jft.
Gauges will quit working, low fuel and power steering pops up on radio, theft deterrent light comes on, cruise control shuts off, says error on odometer. It will do it when driving and stationary. Also when it does do this you can feel the engine intermittently lose power.

The rack and pinion went out when making left turns in city setting. Steering wheel turned but wheels did not. Felt a jumping in the wheel. Gears in rack were stripped when making a hard left turn. Steering wheel spun 3/4 and ruined air bag and no cruise control. Ive had to get a new rack and pinion.

I was driving straight on the interstate when the cruise control deactivated itself. The seat belt light stays lit most of the time. It says service air bag and traction system. Traction system light goes off and on, but the air bag light stays on. Doesnt reset even when unhooking the battery and rehooking it up. Car makes rattling noise from front end. Pulls hard to the right.
Traction control light continues to come on. When this happens the brakes malfunction illuminates when I'm not pressing the brakes and goes out when I do. Disables cruise control. Replaced body control module 6 months ago to correct these issues still having the same problem very unsafe.
When I was resuming adaptive cruise control the vehicle took off after a semi tractor trailer that was in front of me; I had to brake hard to avoid from hitting the semi truck. I was traveling about 55 mph at the time this incident happened & it has happened two more times after that initial incident. Then it stopped working and I had to take it in to the dealership. They said there was no recall on the vehicle & did a recalibration on the front camera & long range radar modules.
The brake light comes on when the brakes are not being depressed and goes off when it is being depressed. This disengages the cruise control and also the service esc light comes on when it happens. The 2014 recall was done by the dealer and yet the problem keeps occurring. There was an update to the recall and this was also done but has not fixed the problem. This issue seems to happen intermittently and randomly.
Service esc, service traction control, service air bags, brake lights on when pedal not pressed and not on when pedal is pressed and cruise control doesn't work periodically. These message appear off and on while driving. I have had the sensor under the brake pedal replaced twice now. Last time 14 months ago so no longer under warranty and needs replaced again.
When driving the vehicle the service traction service esc & esc off lights come off/on seems to be worse when I turn the vehicle will drive rough at times, also the cruise control will fail to work. Got a recall on this in 2017 took it into a dealer shop who applied gel to connectors said that fixed the problem, it certainly did not. I do not know if this is safe to drive my vehicle since it is the only one I own I do not have a choice. Since this has been going on for more than a year now I can not give an exact date but it does happen daily. . I need the repairs made by gm not me.
My 09 Malibu began acting up 1 yr ago when using cruise control, the security light would come on the car would bog down like it was losing power and the service esc and traction control off light would come on, then about 3 min liter it would all turn off, my mechanic did not know why. Recently it has been misfiring and showing lights that say service esc, traction control off and the check engine light blinks as car bugs down like it is losing power. It does this at 30 mph and 50 mph. When I get the light check it says misfire in cylinder 3. I have changed the plug and coil multiple times in last 2 months. Upon googling I found many others had the same issue with the same make and model. This started June 2017.
My tail lights come on without pressing the pedal and they do not come on, when the pedal is pressed. Very, very close to being rear ended. All roads and at all speeds. Cruise control is also affected. Esc light has come on. Very dangerous situation. Nhtsa says there is a recall, Chevrolet says there is not.
When using cruise control the car's rpm and speed increases temporarily. . . . Then returns to its set speed on its own.
While in motion, my 2010 chevy Malibu ltz has been intermittently giving me a "service traction" "esc off" notice and the cruise control is also working intermittently.
I bought the car last April 2016. Shortly after my cruise control was hard to turn on, had to keep hitting the button. So the dealership said it was the switch and replaced it free of charge. Now it's Aug 2017 and the cruise control sometimes turns on and when it does it only stays on maybe 10 min or less and then kills on its own! the speed drops quickly and this is unexpected and can be dangerous. This happened while I was driving on the highway. I specifically bought a car with cruise control, I love it, need it and use it regulary.
Power steering repeatedly goes out while driving. Blinkers only work sometimes. Cruise control does not engage. I lost power steering going down a busy highway.
Headlights and front blinkers quit working. When I went to change thenergy-saving lights the connectors were melted and wires were exposed. The orange lense on the drivers side has melted and is disconnected from the fixture and is lying inside the light inclosure. The lights and blinkers quit working as I was driving the vehicle. I cannot drive the vehicle at night because I am afraid to have the lights on for fear of possible first hazard. The cruise control stopped working around the end 2016.

My brake lights stay on when I am driving the car. The cruise control will just stop working and the car of course slows down at this point. Yesterday the low traction and eic light came on. This has been going on for several months with the brake lights and cruise control the low traction and eic problem just started yesterday. I have read page after page of complaints on this same thing happening on this model year make of car. I have had to take my car in for several recalls but I have not seen one on this particular issue. My car has 138,000 miles on in it and of course this happens while it is in motion on the highway road street etc. It could not happen if the car was not in motion. This is a scary thing to be driving your vehicle and pray your going to make it to where you are going without a crash.
The car hesitates on a dry straight road going 55 miles per hour, but also on wet roads going 30 too. The cruise control randomly does not disengage. Most concerning for me is when I am at a complete stop and press on the gas to move forward the car randomly slows and shuts down without warning.
"takata recall" my 2004 Malibu does not have working cruise control , my wiring is barely working as in my locks won't work , my heat we only blows cold air on defrost my defrost barely clears my windows , my t\c light is the only light that stays on all the time and I barely have traction while driving if I'm trying to accelerate getting on the highway my wheel will lock or barely move and I have to let completely off the gas to free the wheel I get any alerts on my spedometer.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu. While the vehicle was stationary, the transmission malfunctioned. After shifting gears to either the reverse or drive positions, the vehicle would not accelerate. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal and the vehicle lunged forward on more than one occasion in the direction of which gear was engaged. Langdale Chevrolet in sylvester, georgia was contacted about the auto stop feature malfunctioning as well as the transmission. Prince Chevrolet in albany, georgia was made aware of the issue, but was unable to determine why the cruise control, the auto stop feature, and the transmission had malfunctioned. Parker Chevrolet in ashburn, georgia was made aware of the series of failures on may 8, 2017 and stated that the failures could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was 10,785.
