I went to leave my office yesterday afternoon 4/29/10 and my seat belt wouldn't release. I tried several different things to get it to release, no luck. I have had no previous issue with the drivers side seat belt, nor has my car ever been involved in any type of accident. My mechanic was unable to get the seat belt to unlock. A new seat belt was required. The part can only be bought at a dealership. I called 4 dealerships, none had it in stock. I could order and they would have it in 1-2 days. I finally found a dealership that had the part, it was 40 miles away. The part cost over 200. 00 dollars, some quoted almost 300. 00 and that's just for the part, no labor. This is a serious safety concern that needs to be addressed.

Purchased vehicle from car key autoplex at 13546 method st, dallas TX 75243 (214) 210-9998 in March 2020. Vehicle was involved in previous wreck and owner purchased this vehicle and made repairs. Repairs were verified cause the air bag light stopped coming on. In December 2021 vehicle was involved in a wreck. Auto body shop looked into replacing seat belts. Noticed that seat belts had deployed, one of the seat belts was the wrong one for the vehicle as well as an incorrectly installed bolt for the srs. Had to replace both seat belts and pretensioners and airbag control module installed ($2,250). Then the auto body shop noticed that pigtails were missing and spliced together. Had this fixed at a dealership for $1,800 along with programming of the airbag control module to the vehicle. Owner of car key autoplex said that vehicle was repaired 100% when it wasn’t. He committed fraud and sold us a vehicle that was unsafe for the road and cost me over $4,000 to fix all of this.

The power steering has been lost on multiple times and now it happening more and more frequently. It has been happening during this past year. It usually happens without warning. The power steering light will come on and simultaneously the power steering is lost. It takes a great deal of effort to steer the car and move over or turn a corner. It's a critical safety factor! for an senior women, it's very difficult to maneuver. Luckily, it's only happened on city streets while in motion. It has come on when the car has stopped, like at a traffic stop. Usually, I can turn the car off and turn it on again. A dealership informed me that it was the power steering sensors and my car is not covered. There have been recalls on this problem for other 2007 Malibu's. I also have safety concerns because I transport my elderly mother. Can't understand why my car is not covered. Drivers seat belt is not engaged - indicator light shows problem that it is not engaged. Concerned it won't work in an accident.

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu. While the vehicle was at a standstill, the seat belt cable fractured. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 15v269000 (seat belts). The vehicle was taken to gateway Chevrolet Cadillac (located at 501 38th st s, fargo, nd 58103, (701) 282-5522) where it was diagnosed that the pretension cable needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 97,000.
Emgine reduced speed has been comin on for a while on most chevy models. The car immediately slows on the freeway during traffic and anywhere. The seatbelts do not always attach.
These are recalls that I was never made aware of and have not been repaired.
I went to work Friday September 27, 2019. Where my car sat for two hours. When I came back out I had a service air bag light on. My car is a 2105, I'm the second owner. It's never been in an accident. I took it to the dealer I had bought it from a year ago. They told me it was a faulty air bag module that needed to be replaced. Luckily it didn't take an accident for faulting in severe injury, before I had known what was going on. I called gm hoping to get some answers. Only to be told there was nothing they could do to help me. From reading online I've seen a lot of people have this issue. I just pray something can be fixed before someone gets seriously injured. This is a serious safety issue. We don't pay thousands of dollars for a car, to have things go seriously wrong with them. I understand things get wore out and need replaced, but coming from a company who states safety is a priority, I don't feel an air bag module should be going out after only 4 years.
Electronic stability control esc light comes on and says service then esc off. This is a safety issue with these cars. Seat belts fail. Safety issue. And our will not start because the anti theft system is activated for no reason. All of these are consistent with several other complaints. Gm should be ashamed for selling vehicles that fail. Approximately 78,000 miles. Hopefully they will step up and correct these problems!!.

My car wouldn't crank then it would crank. Till I was driving down the road and it just died on me going around a curve lost control of steering and brakes thank god I didn't wreck so I got in line and researched and come to find out that it was something to do with fuel pump relay connection to fuel pump relay box. The wires aware too little voltage for the fuel pump and burnt wires to fuel pump relay box. I see that there are a lot of complaints on same car as line. So I'm filing a complaint cuase this is very dangerous.
Tl- the contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated the vehicle's seat belt sensor to indicate if the seat belt is fastened had failed. The contact stated that when they have their seat belt on and locked into the buckel, the sensor still shows that no seat belt is in use. The contact contacted the dealership (progressive Chevrolet located at 8000 hills and dales rd NW, massillon OH 44646 phone number330-833 8564) who informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered under warranty, therefore, they would be responsible for the diagnosing and repair. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage 95,879. Gl.
Check engine light randomly comes on and off. Unable to get a diagnostic check thoroughly because the engine light doesn't stay on. Was at an auto zone one day when it came on again and was given two of the same codes stating there may be an O2 sensor issue. A couple weeks later while driving I get a message on the car stating service power steering then it goes off again. Check engine light went off. Right driver back seat belt doesn't click in all the way but sometimes it does.
Drivingdown the road turned on a sharp curve lost all steering went into ditch suspension bottoms out on frame electrical problems with security program.

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to dick genthe Chevrolet (866-874-7380, located at 15600 eureka rd, southgate, mi 48195) and the contact was asked if she wanted the vehicle repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 15v269000 (seat belts). The contact approved the recall repairs. Six days later, the contact was informed that the vehicle was not ready and she was not allowed to see or retrieve the vehicle. The contact was called two hours later to pick up the vehicle. When the vehicle was staerted, the air bag indicator illuminated. The technician informed the contact that the failure made the vehicle unsafe to drive and it needed to be diagnosed. The contact stated that there was no air bag failure with the vehicle prior to the repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered a $250 discount towards the repairs ("take or leave it"). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 89,865. Parts distribution disconnect.
Rear seat belts will not retract. Front driver seatbelt on occasion will no buckle.
The seat belts on this vehicle have some issues. I was involved in a wreck lately and I was hurt really bad from the seat belt on the chevy . The seat belt dinted into my body causing some really bad pain when the accident occurred.
While driving and stationary the inside lights blinks, the power steering cane on twice and I have my seatbelt on the light indicator comes on while the it's connected.
I was driving straight on the interstate when the cruise control deactivated itself. The seat belt light stays lit most of the time. It says service air bag and traction system. Traction system light goes off and on, but the air bag light stays on. Doesnt reset even when unhooking the battery and rehooking it up. Car makes rattling noise from front end. Pulls hard to the right.
While traveling from work (boulder) to home (westminster) I hit a patch of slush which pulled my car to the right. While attempting to correct the cars pull, the back end of the car slid out from behind me causing the car to go sideways for a little bit before the car got traction and went front end first into the center median/barrier. I then got out of any oncoming traffics way, pulled over, and called 911. The vehicle was in motion on a highway. The seat belt never locked up to protect me and the airbag never deployed. I hit the wall head on once my car caught grip.

The cable to the driver's side seat belt broke. Evidently, other Malibu's this year had a recall for this exact problem. But, my VIN # is not accepted. Chevy is unwilling to accept responsibility. Severe injury or death could easily have been the outcome if this happened in an accident. The vehicle was stationary when it came completely apart.
My car constantly gives an error saying the power is being reduced to the engine. It was repair 3 months after I bought it but it didn't fix the issue. These cars a danger to everyone around us. They reduce speeds to very low numbers even on the freeway, when yielding to turn left the car won't go but will drift into oncoming traffic, and many times the car won't shut off. It says it's not in park but it is. The seatbelts look like they're secured but with one good tug they'll come apart. And I slide when braking even without snow or rain. Mine I'd always broke down and no one will help me. I pay 475 a month for a car that doesn't work and is dangerous to me and my special needs child and everyone around us. Please do something.

107,000 miles seat belt buckle does not sense seat belt is buckled. Seat belt alarm chimes with belt buckled. Dealer says part is not covered by special campaign. There was a recall a few years ago for seat belt issue and I thought the warranty was extended to 10 years or 120,000 miles.
Passenger seat belt won't unbuckle, dash says service stabilitrak, engine power reduced, and speed limited to 25 mph.
I purchased this car on 11/30/2018 and noticed now that there was a recall on the seat belts. My car belts have not been replaced.
I was on my way to work driving on the 405 freeway in California going around a ramp in my steering wheel locked up on me I hit the brake it released the next morning on my way back home from work I was on my way on the freeway so I accelerate on the gas and my steering wheel locked up as soon as I took my foot off the ignition gas it released. And just recently about 3 days ago today is November 7th so November 2nd on my way home from work all of this happened on my way to work in from work but on my way from work I went down to start my car and steering wheel starts shaking real bad start jerking real bad and from there other things to start happening to the car steering wheel starts shaking real bad as I put on my seatbelt the seatbelt sign will not go off and we'll make a beeping sound every few minutes also the total contraction sign also cut on and then for some reason I had a half tank of gas in my tank but the fuel light will come cut on and on the dash will save fuel low when I had just filled the tank up.

Driver hit a stationary object head on at approximately 50mph and head went through the windshield.
The car was rear ended at a fast speed as it was proceeding at a slow pace as traffic was starting to take off from being at a stand still. The person driving was slammed into the steering wheel at the same time the seat belt flew off and the buckle struck the driver on the arm causing injury the seatbelt would not retract back into place and also the driver's knee hit the steering causing the key to break off into the ignition causing injury to the knee and leg. The car accident happened on the top of the bridge leading to the highway. The car was moving at a slow pace because traffic had stopped then proceeded to go. It didn't have a chance to go full speed before being struck. I believe the force of the impact caused the seatbelt to malfunction I don't know why the air bag didn't deploy.
We have a family Malibu, purchased brand new. My teenage daughter got out at one stop, and got in on the next stop. The back seatbelt on the driver side has freeze for no appearent reason, not allowing the seatbelt to come back out past a few inches. It is not folded, ect and is still nearly new. A truck did pull out in front of us in November 2017 while the family was in the car, we hit it going about 15 mph, but that was 8 months back and likely isn't related. (air bags didn't go off due to lower speed).
Tl the contact owned a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu. While driving approximately 55 mph, the contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a ditch and a truck. The front end of the contact's vehicle was severely damaged, but the air bags did not deploy. During the crash, the front driver side seat belt malfunctioned and unlocked. The contact sustained back, neck, and sternum injuries and was transported to the hospital for medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed and towed away. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and an unknown dealer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 74,000.
Water leaked into the body of the car through the center mount stop lamp at the top of the rear window. Either the gasket was defective, or it was simply missing from the car. Over time, water seeped into the car from under the drivers seat. The heat from the summer caused mold to grow on the vehicle floor boards and the drivers side seat blet. Moisture in the car caused damage to the electronic components. The car is totaled and currently awaiting inspection at the Chevrolet dealership in my area.
Passenger headlight has blown twice in less then a year. Driver side air bag warning light keeps coming on. Drivers side seat belt no longer retracts.
