Steering has had vibration in it since I purchased the car. Now the steering won't steer unless the engine is accelarated. The engine keeps backfiring and cutting out. This is a 2000 Monte Carlo ss. This is the worst vehicle I have ever owned. I will never buy another gm product again. I am buying a Toyota.

These issues listed below are troubles I have had with my 2002 Monte Carlo bought vehicle new 4/15/02 and 21/02, front bumper paint began to peel. Bumper repainted. /5/02 rear speakers begin to crackle and quit working. Replaced. /30/03 took vehicle to Chevrolet garage due to vehicle pulsating when stopping and the car having trouble starting. Front and rear rotors found warped and resurfaced. Cars fuel pressure regulator found to be leaking down and was replaced. 8/21/03 car pulsating again when stopping. Returned vechicle to chevy garage. Found rear rotors rusted again and replaced rear rotors. Was told tires were cupping in rear. Rotated tires on 8/22/03 and found score mark on rear drivers side rotor. 8/22/03 returned vehicle to chevy garage showed service manager the defect and was told the part would not be replaced at this time eevn though rotor was scored. S. Mgr stated this was normal condition due to brake pad metallic lining. 8/24/03 contacted gm customer service about issue. Asked to have new rotors and brakes put on vehicle. Response was "gm is aware of issues with our brakes and rotors, but if there is no defect the part would not be replaced. " I restated about the score mark on the new rotor and was told sorry nothing they could do at this point. 9/2/03 while oil was being changed two bolts where noticed missing from the transmission pan. Will be serviced on 9/4/03 repair pending. 9/3/03 vehicle having trouble starting again. Engine hesitates for 10-20 sec. Will be addressed on 9/4/03
this vehicle only has 24,000 miles on it. I need new brake pads and new rotors due to defects in parts. Vehicle has 7yr/100,000 mile warranty. Do I have a lemon?.

This car also has brake and injector problems. I had to replace the rear struts in June too. This car has low mileage and I think it is highly unusal to have these problems.

I bought this car Nov of 1999. I started experiencing problems with the car dying without warning anywhere from 30-70 mph. This is very dangerous because it has done it to me while crossing traffic to enter a parking lot. This vehicle has been to a dealer, central Chevrolet of north branch, to be fixed. They found several emission pcs bad and replaced. This did not correct the problem. It immediatly went back in and they have yet to find the problem. I was informed by gm that this car was repurchased back Feb 4 1998 and that this vehicle has had several repairs done to it and them being the same parts. I called them another day and they said that I was not to have gotten that info and they could help me no further with the problem. I would have never purchased this had I known the extent of the problems with it. It is April 5 2000 and my car is still not fixed! it is now at 2nd dealer, john hirshes of cambridge, who is not going to fix the car without the history of the repairs. Gm will not provide that info to anyone. Im trying to return the car to brookdale Honda because they did not tell me it was repurchased and also that the car cant be fixed. At least not by two of the local dealers. They dont know whats causing the engine to stall out and quit without warning. If you could help me with this problem, please do so. Please feel free to call if any additional info is needed. Thank you for the opportunity online to give this info to you so you may be able to help me.

Fuel injector failure.
Once vehicle warms up it stalls. There is a technical service bulletin out on these vehicles. Dealer replaced the fuel injectors and three gaskets and the spark plugs, and vehicle still stalls. Owner states the the vehicle shakes and idles roughly, and she has smelled gas on severaloccasions. Owner is still having problems with the vehicle.
Vehicle is hard to start due to fuel system problems.
The fuel injection system is programmed to let up progressively instead of instantaneously when letting up on the accelerator, this causes one to put added pressure on brakes to stop the vehicle and causes consumer to under estimate stopping distance.
