1 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Failure Date: 07/17/2015

When accelerating from a stop, the transmission slips and then shifts hard (slams into the next gear) no matter how slow I try to take off. This happens no matter if I come to a complete stop or not but only happens when the transmission tries to go from 1st to 2nd. The problem occurs about 50% of the time. It doesn't matter how far into the drive I am. Happens when first started driving for the day and after a 40 minute drive. Vehicle only has 62,000 miles and the car is never driven hard!.

3 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Failure Date: 04/12/2013

When accelerating from a stop, the transmission (in drive) immediately shifts hard into second gear then slips a little before engaging. If I shift the gears manually, the transmission shifts normal. It does this only in drive and shifting between first and second gear. The fluid is clear, full and not burnt. The trans fluid was flushed about 4 months ago with no problems before now. The car has not been driven hard and has average amount of miles.

Failure Date: 12/07/2012

2006 chevy Monte Carlo ss, started to notice the transmission slipping at about 77,000 miles, when stopped and beginning accelerration it hesitates than lunges into gear while making a grinding noise at the same time. . Checked the transmission fluid and didnt notice any burnt fluid or particles in it. . . . This incident repeated itself for 7 months and today it wouldn't go into drive or any of the low gears. . . Its pretty obvious by all the complaints on various forums that this is a manufactuers flaw! disappointed!!!.

10 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 1996 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Transmission slips. When trying to enter the freeway, there is no pull, I've nearly been hit twice because of this. Told the dealership and they said they couldn't duplicate problem so they wouldn't fix it. Everyone I know who owns this same year and model has experienced the same problem. One person complained enough that the dealership said yes there was a recall on a part in the trans. Mission, and they replaced it. I can't get g. M. To verify this. Also, the trunk lid has no hydraulics to keep the lid up and if the wind is blowing just right, it slams shut. It has hit me in the head twice and once on the bridge of my nose and also, it has come down on my brothers nose. I sure hope you can help.
