Windshield wipers will work for about 20 minutes (15 miles) and then quit. I have gotten out and jiggled wires and got it to work again. Upon gut instinct and some knowledge of automible engines, I believe this to be a bad motor for the windshield wipers or a bad wire conection. I don't believe this could have been a fault of owner due to the fact that an owner can not cause a wire short and also feel it is a manufacturer problem for lack of test of windshield wiper motors.

Whenever windshield wipers are in use they would stop on their own. Sometimes come back on by themselves. Would need to stop vehicle and get out and jiggle wires/ windshield wiper motor or blades themselves to get them going again. This would cause driver to have poor road visibility in rain.

Several time windshield wipers have failed to operate or stopped operating during rain storms. Repositioning the cable going to the wiper motor has solved this problem, but the dealer never admitted there was a problem.

Chevrolet has recalled 1995 s-10 trucks for a safety related problem caused by faulty circuit board in the windshield wiper moters. My 1997 s-10 has the identical circuit board in my wiper motor and is also operating intermittently. Why hasn't the company recalled 1997 trucks also when they both use identical wiper motors? any help you can providewould certainly be appreciated!.

Windshield wiper motor failed due to cracked solder joints on the controller circuit board. Consumer contacted manufacturer, who told consumer that this vehicle was not included in the special policy that recognized this defect.
