Two problems related to power assist brake vacuum have been reported for the 2001 Chevrolet S10. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
When the vehicle was turned off, the brake vacuum leaked causing brake failure when starting the vehicle. The mechanic replaced the check valve but the problem still exists. The engine died while driving,thee was not enough vacuum on the brake system to stop the vehicle. Gm stated that they had a lot of problems with the check valve and booster.
The brake pedal was hard to press due to the loss of vacuum assist after the vehicle sat over night. Ph.
