Both driver and passenger seats do not lock into place unless pushed all the way back. Yh.
I have a passenger seat which will not lock in any position except fully back and will only lock by being slammed into this position. If seat is not locked into this position it will slide forward or backwards freely depending on the motion of the vehicle . Many attempts were made to correct this problem by the dealership, but all efforts have been futile. Now they and Chevrolet refuse to correct the problem under the warranty because of the current mileage on the vehicle. As of now, there has only been one injury caused by this seat and that was to a 6 year old whose foot was caught by the seat when it was being slammed into the fully back position. Luckily her foot was just bruised by the seat . I just do not want to see anyone seriously hurt because of this malfunctioning seat. The manufacturer should fix this problem as I have attempted on numerous(at least 5) times to have it fixed during the warranty period. Each time I had to take off from work and wait on them to fix it, made to depend on the dealer to drive me to work and pick me up. *dimsii ivoq entry posted after 12/12/02 cut-over to artemis**76447.

Took to dealer, and they replaced the track on the passenger's side seat, but now consumer has to slam seat with alot of force in order for it to lock into place.
Rearended and the driver's seat reclined backwards, and caused the consumer to hit his head.

The pasenger seat would not securely latch in place. When I would brake the vehicle, if the seat was not in the farthest back position, it would immediately slide all the way to the forward position. After 3 attempts to fix it, including replacing both seat rails, gm advised my dealers service dept. That unless the carpet below the rails was cut away the rails would not bolt down square to the floor. This kept the latching mechanism from securing the seat in place. Apparently gm was aware of this, but I was never notified that the problem existed. Any passenger in my pickup could have been severly injured if I had been required to make a hard stop. I feel the manufacturer should notify oweners of such a defect that could cause injury. Have other owners of this vehicle been notified of the potential danger?.
Seat brace on the rear of driver's and passenger's seats went through the floorboard of vehicle due to a weak spot weld.
The driver and passenger side seat tracks are faulty, failure of the drivers seat to stay secured in position caused the seat to jerk backwards while driving removing the drivers foot from the accelerator pedal resulting in the vehicle slowing at an intersection, the passengers seat had the same problem prior to the driver seat malfunction with more frequency of failure. Nlm.

The passenger seat would not properly lock to the seat track, and the consumer believes it was a major safety problem.
Passenger's seat would let go on track while driving, would not remain locked. Took to dealership, and was repaired with a new mechanism. But problem was not solved. The seat was finally repaired at the third attempt.
The passenger seat cannot be latched in position until it is moved to the full rearward position. As this is an extended cab truck there may be a box or something similar behind the seat. In this case the passenger cannot latch the seat resulting in the passenger sliding towards the dash if the brakes are applied. About the only way to discover this is when it happens the first time and your passenger is only stopped by the seatbelt. If they were not wearing their seatbelt then they would probably hit the dash. No vehicle I have ever owned has had such a system.
Passenger's seat is unable to stay at the locking position. Dealer has been notified, and has tried to repair problem; but was unable to do repairs.
