Three problems related to engine clicking and tapping noises have been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Engine tapping noise when vehicle first started in the morning, dealer and GMC contacted on several occasions, vehicle still tapping, I will make my fourth trip to the dealer soon.
Clattering noise from engine (left side) when accelerating ,steer left -right noise goes up and down, dip in road noise disappears - can't get help from dealer - lots of people complaining gm has no TSB for this. We need help getting gm to listen and fix the problem. . . .
Consumer heard a tapping noise coming from motor area. Consumer took vehicle to dealership, and mechanic replaced engine lifters. But, problem has continued.
