The contact owns a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado. He noticed the rear frame under near the rear tires was rusted and corroded up to the middle of the frame. Rear window is leaking and allowing water to enter into cab of vehicle. Dealership has examined vehicle and determined that there is a crack in the frame that holds the window in place. This is a common problem in these vehicles. The back plastic frame cracks around the windshield, causing the leak, the only solution was to replace the rear windshield, consumer is requesting reimbursement.
Vehicle suffered a cracked frame on both sides while in transit with no prior warning, general motors stated the consumer was pulling too much weight in the trailer however scale ticket showed the weight was well below maximum limits outlined on general motors owners manual (attorney for client). Rear frame broke above both rear wheels, no excessive weight ever placed in this truck. Frame just cracked and broke while sitting in packing lot.
