While standing on the tailgate it broke. Consumer stated there was a recall on the 2000 models, but not on the 1999 model.
Tailgate will not stay closed and latched. Always drops open while driving.
Tailgate cable is rusting out. Consumer feels that the cable is going to break. Manufacturer and dealer have been informed.
