While driving 40 mph front driver side tire sidewall separated. Consumer managed to pull over and changed the tire. Manufacturer was notified, but did not resolve the problem. Firestone, wilderness, at p215/75r16.
While driving on a gravel road at 40 mph (70 degrees, 2 adults, 1 child in vehicle, no other load in truck) the inside sidewall exploded on driver rear causing rear of truck to sway. Truck was under control until I was able to stop. There was an l shape tear near the tread running perpendicular through the sidewall. This tear was at an almost perfect 90-degree angle. Tire will remain in my custody for inspection until I am satisfied with outcome.
Complete sidewall separation, tire completely destroyed. (dot number: 273wmb129 tiresize: p265/r16).
Right rear tire sidewall collapsed while driving. Vehicle started to vibrate. Did not lose control. Pulled off into a parking lot, and exchanged tire. Firestone, wilderness at, p265/75r16.
At 70mph on the interstate, the whole sidewall blew out on the tire. (dot number: vn73wma tiresize: p26575r16).
Sidewall failure. (dot number: w273wmb219 tiresize: 265/75/16).
Traveling down winding 6% mountianous grade pulling trailer on busy laborday weekend. I could feel a slight vibration begin to build, I told my wife who was driving to slow down immediatly and pull off to the shoulder. As she worked her way over a loud pop could be heard, luckly we had slowed conciderablly. The truck started to wiggle as we pulled off to the shoulder. The tread had started to delaminate from the sidewall. Had I not been very attuned to the feel of the truck and road we may have been the next to be in the newspaper. We are afraid to drive our 1 year old truck at sppeeds over 45 mph. ( dot number: w273 tire size: p265/75r16 ).
At a speed of approximately 65 mph. The tire came apart on the outside wall. The sidewall was completely torn away from the tread side. At the time of the incident, the tires were properly pressured at 35 psi. ( dot number: w273wma358 tire size: p265/75r16 ).
Sidewall of the goodyear wrangler st tire (p235 75 r16) blew out.
I am not sure what happened. I was driving along on a relatively straight stretch of road and the next thing I knew I was having an air-bag for brunch. The investigating officer and the insurance adjuster both said that the left front tire looked suspicious. It appeared to have blown out the sidewall and tread area. Due to the restraints and vehicle design I was fortunate to not be seriously injured however I did total a fairly new vehicle when I hit a concrete culvert abutment. ( dot number: not avail. Tire size: lt24575r16 ).
Left rear tire blew out at a speed of 10 mph while traveling straight on an asphalt road. A discernible hole was observed in the sidewall. Upon inspection of the remaining tires, a soft spot was found in the outside sidewall of the right front tire. New tires (dayton timberline ht p255/70r16) were placed on the vehicle on 7/24/99 by myself since I was leaving town on that date for vacation. I was not comfortable driving on tires that had experienced 1 failure and were subject to a second failure. The Chevrolet dealer refused to replace the tires, instead referring me to a general tire dealer. The closest general tire dealer was 25 miles away and was closed. I remain in possession of the defective general tires. I requested from the Chevrolet dealer but did not receive a refund for the purchase of the new tires. ( dot number: a3cudb2 tire size: p255/70r16 ).
All four tires have cracks in a circle around the sidewall above firestone steeltex. (dot number: vn11bac069 tiresize: lt24575r16).
