Three problems related to seat belt have been reported for the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Engine stalls occasionally while driving, and put me in a dangerous situation. Fortunately I live in a small town has little freeways. Also the driver side seatbelt is stuck and I can not pull it out.
I own a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado hd2500 4 door diesel truck. The passenger side seatbelt in the front seat locks and tightens to the point that you literally cannot move. You can be on smooth road, not touching the brakes and the belt will lock and the only way to release it is to unbuckle it and buckle it again. Then it will soon lock again. It is a constant process making the belt almost impossible to wear. I have had it replaced at my dealership 4 times with all of them the same. It is law that you wear your seatbelt but this one is not useable. I have complained to gm and my dealership but am told that there is nothing that can be done and to get use to it! all I want is a seatbelt that works properly and safely. Please help.
Consumer stated the shoulder belts locked up, in which consumer was physically unable to view the traffic while merging into traffic. The brakes were not being applied at the time and almost caused three bad accidents because the driver couldn't view the oncoming traffic from behind. The dealer stated that this is not a defect. Scc.
