Three problems related to windshield wiper/washer switch have been reported for the 2003 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Failure of the windshiled wiper control. Wipers began being difficult to turn on. Then once on, they couldn't be shut off.
Failure of windshield wipers intermittantly usually when it's raining very hard; resulting in total loss of visibility and near collision on several occasions. Gm knows they have a problem with circuit boards. This is surely a safety item.
Windsheild wiper variable speed control does not work properly. Wipers will not turn off once turned on, thus ruining the wipers in light drizzle/foggy conditions. Intermittant settings do not work at all, wipers only work in normal and high mode.
