One problem related to abs brake fail has been reported for the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. While driving 20 mph, the abs failed to stop the vehicle. The contact almost struck a child. After finally stopping the vehicle, he took it to the dealer and they stated that the brake sensors failed. The dealer installed a temporary sensor to make sure that would remedy the failure. The manufacturer stated that they were not responsible for the repairs. He found a recall for the failure, but it did not include his model year. The contact believes that the design was never changed and the newer models have also been affected by this defect. The vehicle has not yet been permanently repaired. The the consumer stated the abs activated at a low speed and the pedal would go all the way to the floor. Updated 03/19/jb.
