Center console beverage holders, have two holes on hard plastic. These holes drain spill liquid from beverages to go inside console and causing mold grow and bad smell. Also causes that usb ports on console to short out and burn. These problem gets worst when owner lifts center console to seat a 3rd person in front of vehicle causing accumulated liquid to spill to back of console, where is impossible to clean. Without taking console apart.

I bought a 2015 chevy Silverado 1500 wt black out edition on 12/1/2015. Within a few weeks of driving truck and about 1000 miles on truck drivers seat has a major squeak and feels not sturdy. After many trips to dealer and replacing several parts, drivers seat remains same as of to date. At this point dealer says there are no issues reported on any other 2015 trucks in the us. Truck seat is unbearable to drive and could be a safety hazard. Truck currently has 4500 miles.
The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact heard an abnormal noise coming from the driver seat. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the ecm box was damaged and needed replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The contact also stated that the same failure occurred in December of 2015. The approximate failure mileage was 78,344.

I had driven back home from tahoe around 6:00pm and the vehicle was parked for 2 hours when we attempted to open the slide on the 5th wheel. I found the slide on the trailer would not open due to a lack of power on the 5th wheel. At this time the pigtail was still connected to the truck. I disconnected the pigtail from the truck and plugged the trailer into a 50 amp plug and the slide opened normally. I thought it was strange that the battery had discharged after such a short time. Around 10:45pm my girlfriend screamed the trailer was on fire and when I reached the backdoor the entire trailer was engulfed and the rear of the truck was already on fire. Both the vehicles were completely destroyed along with a barn that was approximately10 feet away suffering major damage.

The trucks have a vibration that is felt in the steering wheel, floor, seats, accelerator and brake pedals etc. While driving. The major consensus it that the worst speed it 76 mph, yet it is felt to a lesser degree at any speeds, with some being worse than others. There are a large number of trucks with this issue, yet general motors refuses to do anything about it. It began within a couple weeks of purchasing my truck. I found people first reporting the issue in 2015, and more recently it continues with the 2015 and 2016 model years.
Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that while reversing, the driver seat unlatched forward independently causing the contact to be against the steering wheel. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 22,000. The VIN was not available. Djr.

The contact owns a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado. While driving approximately 35 mph hauling a trailer, the front and rear brake hydraulic lines failed. The contact was able to stop the vehicle by using the brakes on the trailer. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact, an experienced mechanic, diagnosed and replaced the brake lines. On a separate occasion while driving 50 mph, a plastic component of the driver's seat fractured and caused the seat to slide back and forth into the steering wheel. The failure was not repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 58,000. The VIN was not available.

Driver seat lower cushion rocks left and right as well as front to back. Took vehicle in to dealer on 9/3/14 and was fixed on 9/5/14. The seat felt sturdy upon pick up from dealer. Have driven approx 30 miles since picking up on 9/5/14. Seat is now doing same movements as before. I have filed a claim with gm customer care and they state there is not a fix for the seats at this time. I feel this is a safety hazard and potential critical failure during a crash.
The vehicle has a shake and vibration in the seats, steering and suspension at interstate speeds of 65 mph and above on smooth roads it has had the shake and vibration since the day I bought it new.
When turning the seat pops and moves in the direction you are turning. The dealer could not duplicate. I addressed it again 7-8 months later and the dealer stated there is no fix. They said it only happens when the seat is in the top adjustment position, this is incorrect, it happens at all adjustments as I have tried them all. Needless to say, this will get your attention enough to think something is happening and you just cannot get used to it almost a year later. It scared my wife and daughter enough to where they will not drive it any longer.
I purchased a 2014 Silverado crew cab ltz z71 on August 16. Almost immediately it began having issues with the safety systems that were extra modules on this vehicle. Parking assist sensors do not work consistently, lane departure warning system fails to initialize or operate consistently and downhill grade breaking system fails to initialize or operate consistently, forward collision warning system fails to initialize and operate consistently. (I have photographs of the safety features failing). In addition, the heated/cooled seats (driver side) overheats with driver weighing 280 lbs - causing rear vent /exhaust covers to separate from the seat. Seat gets very hot- passengers in back of vehicle complain about extreme heat (again photographed failures) failures with safety system functionality are described by multiple owners of the same model truck (ltz) that I purchased. . The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 hd. The contact stated that the heated seats would independently engage and become abnormally hot. The contact stated that the heat seats could not be controlled. The contact was not burned by the seats. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer however, the dealer could not determine the problem. The failure mileage was 60,000.

Overheated connector in dash, possibly loose at assembly. Origin behind instrument panel, driver side of dash.
When braking the driver's seat moves slightly as though the mounting bolts or slider bolts were loose. I checked the mounting and slider bolts and they are tight, but the problem occurs every time I use the brake pedal. This will result in a virginia state vehicle safety inspection failure because a seat must be secure or it contstitutes a danger. Although the vehicle is a 2000 chevy Silverado 1500 series lt extended cab it only has 13,000 miles on it. Therefore, it isn't driven much indicating to me that the condition resulted from defective material used in the manufacturing of the seat or improper manufacturing itself. I believe that if it were from improper manufacturing as opposed to defective materials then the problem would have shown up at a much earlier date regardless of the low mileage. Therefore, based on the tight bolts that I checked and the low mileage eliminating the consideration of normal wear and tear I would have to assume that this development is from the use of inferior quality material in the construction of these seats resulting in potential endangerment. VIN 2gcec19t6y1168421.

The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the check engine light illuminated and the vehicle suddenly stalled. The contact indicated that after restarting the engine the vehicle operated as normal. The contact also indicated that the passenger side seat belt had malfunctioned and the passenger was unable to move while the seat belt was in the locked position. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the defect but no solution was offered. The failure mileage was 130,000.
The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that the front driver seat and passenger seat slides back and forth and would not lock in place. The dealer stated that there was suppose to be a kit available to fix the seat, but that was a year ago. The VIN did not go through at the time of the complaint. The failure mileage was 50000 and the current mileage was 70000.
While attempting to adjust the driver's seat in my 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, I found the seat would not lock in place. Moving the seat back and forth in an effort to lock it, something appeared to break causing the seat to move quickly forward, pinning me against the steering wheel. I later found a small plastic fragment on the floor and assumed it was part of the track locking system. The seat now was completely free in its movement forward and backward, extending to the limit in each direction. I took the broken piece to a local dealer who explained that it was, indeed, part of the "seat adjustment" mechanism, and, when broken, the seat would move without restriction forward or backward. When I questioned why such a critical piece of equipment was not made of metal (instead of plastic), I was told that "yes, it should have been. " had this failure occurred while driving, it could have caused serious, if not fatal, consequences. Once the part breaks, any application of the brakes will immediately slam the driver forward into the steering wheel with considerable force. The opposite effect is also felt when accelerating. I was very fortunate that the part broke before I had left the curb. This is a very dangerous design and system. These parts should be manufactured from hardened steel instead of plastic material (even nylon. ) at best the surprised driver is immediately and totally distracted; at worst, he is totally incapable of maintaining control of his vehicle, being slammed forward and backward as he applies braking or acceleration. The cost of repair of this condition is approximately $400. And should not be borne by the consumer. General motors should address the type of material used in the manufacture of these parts for future vehicles, and recall and replace them on older models. Note: my vehicle has less than 56k miles.

my employer issued me a 2006 chevy Silverado pickup truck that I feel is
a hazard to drive. The design of the cab is such that there is only a
1. 5 x 1. 5 ft box that one can see out of. The rear view mirror is so big and mounted so low that it blocks most of the vision to the right front of the vehicle and the top of the cab inhibits the ability to see stop lights when stopped at a stop bar, to see the light one must stop a vehicle length short of the light. Stopping short to see the light isn't a big issue for the driver of the truck, its the idiot with road rage behind that's the problem. . I have asked the chevy customer care center to address these issues as well as other issues with the suitability of this truck for persons taller than 5 ft but I think they have just written off the complaint. I would recommend that this vehicle be recalled do to the severely limited vision of the driver. From NHTSA web site.

The seat locking device broke while braking allowing the seat to rush forward. My knees hit the bottom of the dash. If I were in a high traffic area, a wreck may have occured.
: the contact stated both front seats move forward without warning while driving various speeds. The dealer was alerted, but the vehicle was not seen for inspection. Updated 05/22/06.
: the contact stated the driver's side door made a rattling noise and shook while driving various speeds on bumpy road conditions. Also, the driver's seat made a squeaking noise. The dealer inspected the vehicle, but could not determine the problem.
Inferior white plastic part in driver's seat track of 1999 chevy Silverado 1500 failed, causing driver's seat to slam into steering wheel after quick stop at low speed. Gm svc. Says there are no other reported failures, I find this hard to believe.
I was stopped in traffic and was rear ended by a Ford f-150 going 20-40 mph estimated. Both my son and I were hurled backwards because the seats collapsed backwards. We both sustained injuries to our necks and backs. I believe that if we were not rear ended or the seats wouldn't have collapsed we would have not received any injuries. I believe these seats have a potential of being dangerous and the company needs to do something about it right away before some else gets injured.

Dirivers side seat failed to stay locked in position and slid forward when brake was applied. This cause me to be thrown foreward with all my weight on the brake petal. If not for the seat belt and no one following close behind it could have been very serious.
Design of the Silverado front seat, fixed lumbar pushing into kidneys vary painfully.
While driving home in my 1999 Silverado with manual control seats, I had an uncommanded release of the driver seat while braking. Upon investigation a part of the seat was found broken off and laying in the seat track. There was no adjustments performed to the seat prior to the failure occurring.
Driver's seat is no longer working properly. When the gas pedal is depressed seat slides backwards. When the brakes are depressed, the seat would slide forward. Consumer has made an appointment with the dealer to examine the problem. This problem has happened numerous times in the past six months.
Inner seat adjuster on driver's side broke on my '99 chev Silverado extended cab truck, having 34,000 miles, allowing seat to move forward and backward on rails without restriction. Seat belt is part of seat thereby resulting in the driver to be moving forward and backward on seat rails without restriction. Seat of course does stop in the further most backward and forward ends of seat rail. Chev dealer lists part as "inner adjuster" part #14691. The part is sold as a whole according to the dealer and retails at about $149. 00. What appeared to break was a plastic piece that fits in the rail and which would seem to be the part that halts the seat in the position chosen by the occupant. I still have the broken piece as recovered from my floor board. I had been having problems for a week or so with the seat not moving forward and backward when attempted by adjustment lever. I assumed I had something under the seat impeding movement, but was actually due to the aforementioned problem.
While entering vehicle the driver's keys fell between the console and the seat. While trying to retrieve the keys, the seat structure cut the driver's hand. Please provide further information.
Drivers seat locking mechanism broke. When brakes were applied, driver was thrust against steering wheel. Seatbelts do not help as they are attached to the seat. Seat slides forward and backward freely. I feel this is a severe safety concern due to the fact that you cannot control the vehicle when you are unable to stop the seat from flying you forward. The locking mechanism should never break. The Chevrolet dealer calls this a seat adjuster, but is a piece of plastic that has the locking pin in it. A piece of plastic to hold a seat in its place is totally stupid.
Front drivers seat will not slide all the way back after you have tilted it forward and put it back. It seems to hang and not move backward until you play around with it. Then the seat will not lock in place when you make an adjustment, then you have to kind of force it into a locked position. Also the seat rail has looseness in it. It fails every time you make a seat adjustment.
The drivers side seat metal frame broke, causing seat not to stay in place.

The driver side seat back doesn't latch into place. While traveling on the highway. The dealership is aware of the problem. Ts.
While driving driver's seat slides backwards; driver, who is 5 feet and 2 inches, is unable to reach brakes or accelerator pedal. Dealer has been notified. Please give any further details.
Drivers seat failed to lock into position, this was second occurrence. When brakes were applied, driver was thrust against steering wheel hitting chest and face and injuring wrist, knees hit the dash, seat ran onto left foot. Seatbelts do not help as they are attached to the seat. When driving, seat slides forward and backward freely. When the brakes are applied the seat slides forward, causing the foot to hit the brakes harder, thereby causing an abrupt stop. Luckily my children who were passengers at the time had their seatbelts on or they would have hit the dash. Most vehicles never have this occur in their lifetime, but this has happened twice within a year and a half. First time was August of 2000. Cost to replace is over $500. I feel this is a severe safety concern due to the fact that you cannot control the vehicle when operating, especially when stopping. The seatbelts don't help as they are attached to the seat. Major concern for me is if I am in an accident these brackets will not hold!!! I am a 120 pound woman, I do not adjust the seat often, I keep it positioned all the way to the back. My normal wear and tear could not have caused these railings to break. I have children who will be coming of age to drive. What would happen to a less experience driver? what if passengers didn't have seatbelts on? what if I was hauling a trailer? what of the force of the added weight of the trailer when stopping? what of the contents on that trailer? what if I have a minor accident, say a rear end collision, will my seat hold me in place? I don't have faith they will! because this has happened twice within a short period of time and on a fairly new vehicle, I believe the dealership or chevy should repair at no cost to me. There are no airbags that inflate for protection, it is a solid impact. If someone from chevy should hit their steering wheel one time like I did, I think they'd take this issue very seriously.
