The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact noticed a knocking noise. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership where the piston and wrist pin were replaced. After receiving the vehicle back, he heard the knocking again. The vehicle was taken back to the dealership where pistons and lift pins were replaced again. The failure occurred again. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership but the dealer refused to repair it again. The contact called the manufacturer who offered $2,000 towards a new vehicle but offered no assistance for the current problem. The current mileage was approximately 38,000. The failure mileage was approximately 16,000.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet suburban 1500. Upon starting the vehicle there was a knocking noise in the engine. When he noticed that there was no oil in the engine, he added oil. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who confirmed that there were no oil leaks in the engine. The failure continued to recur every 1,000 miles and each time the vehicle was missing approximately 1 or 2 quarts of oil.
