My truck has roughly 26,000 miles and the airbag sensing module on it corroded due to water gathering around it in the acoustic padding. It happens because water runs down a line that enters the cab and gets absorbed by the acoustic padding. This is a known issue as there is a recall for other states. My state is not one even though louisiana is one of the wettest states and we also use salt in the winter when the roads ice. I’m glad I didn’t get hurt by this since it can cause the seatbelt pretentioners to fire and/or the airbag to deploy. This is the document from gm/NHTSA. Gm bulletin [xxx] [xxx] can you please include louisiana in this recall since the issue is affecting us? information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Smiths auto canton ohio told me they sold it to me with no problems but the locks are going out it has a dent in the side that's getting worse. I had to buy breaks and a new starter twice.
My dash board and panels are cracked and falling apart. Dealer cannot replace air bags without doing more damage to dashboard and will not be responsible. Only 52000 miles on this vehicle and dash board is cracked and broken. A compliant has been filed several years ago for a cracked dash.

Dash is cracking everywhere.
I purchased this vehicle new and have seen notices regarding problems with the type of air bags it has for years but unable to have the problem addressed. Others I know with the same airbags have had them successfully replaced by the dealer of their vehicles, such as Honda and Nissan, etc. It makes no sense that an american manufacturer keeps obtaining exceptions and waivers to correct this safety issue. I am very concerned as I live in a high heat, high humidity area, florida, which is said to exacerbate the problem. It imperative the airbags be replaced immediately. Please advise regarding how this can be achieved.
Cracks in all areas of dashboard possibly causing airbags deployment failure.
The dash on the passenger side is cracked and could hurt someone if the airbags were to deploy. This is a very common issue with the 2009 silverado. Also, the lifters are very bad and will stop working if the afm isn't turned off. I thought my engie was dead when going 70 and the lifter go out. Lost all power and had to tow it to a shop. This has happened twice.
Dealer says they don't have solution for repair/.

Called classic chevy in sugarland a year ago asking about getting the airbags replaced. Was told I would be called when the parts get in. Called again today and was given the same answer. How can this be a safety issue if the parts are never in stock?.
This is a complaint about the cracks on my dash around the air bag. Over the past month they have grown and gotten worse, one is huge (about 7 inches long) and there's two more pieces in the corner about to fall out and one near the radio. I would just like gm to put a new dash in for free so I can cover it with a carpet dash and not have to worry about it. Thanks.
I find out that I have a recall for my truck for the airbags. The Chevrolet recall personnel stated that there were no results to fix this issue. I can't sell this vehicle with a issue with the airbag. How long will it take general motors to make a decision on a repair for this problem? they've already had since 2016 to make a decision. The answer that I was given is not good enough. I want this fixed.
Takata recall. . . Went to ron carter autoland in alvin, TX. They looked up the VIN number and I was told there was no fix for this problem. They handed me the paper that was it.
It's been over 2 years since the first notification for this recall and I'm still waiting for the replacement to be accomplished. The notification clearly notes that if the vehicle is located in a high humidity location the threat of the problem becomes much greater. I live in orange park FL and the humidity is high most of the year. I don't understand why my airbag recall has been delayed. Please take action to help me remedy this problem before there are injuries or death.
