Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problems of the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

A safety recall was issued for the passenger-side frontal airbag inflator. Recall service was performed on 04-12-2021 at parkway Chevrolet in tomball, TX. The dash was cracked and broken when the service technician removed the cover for the airbag.

Takata inflator. Air bag light came on, and then truck would not start. Took it to the Chevrolet dealer and they said the air bag modulator was corroded and needs replaced. That is why it will not start. Then found out about the takata recall on air bags.

Takata recall: my vehicle has been identified as having takata inflators but no dealership I have contacted can or will replace these inflators.

Takata inflators: recall notice received July 2016. Have checked with dealerships since 10-19-16 and they say they have no parts to fix the recall and do not have date when parts will be available. Have received another notice that t k holdings have filed for bankruptcy chapter 11. No accident but recall not fixed.

Takata inflators: I believe my vehicle is on a recall list for faulty airbag inflators.

2009 Chevrolet silverado. Consumer writes in regards to replacement parts not available to repair front passenger airbag inflator recall notice.

"takata recall" received recall notice via us mail July 2016. Have not received the inflators as of this date. Please advise.

Takata recall: I received a recall on may 27, 2016 and the dealerships claim they don't have the replacement parts and don't know when they will get them. This is really bad service and a danger to the people driving these vehicles with the bad inflators. These needs to be corrected ASAP!.
