Car Stall problems of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Happens 3-4 a week when driving: I turn turn signal on and headlights flicker truck feels like losses power, if making a u-turn steering wheel gets hard and truck feels like stalling out. On highway going 65mph stabilitrak light flashed twice and truck felt sluggish very brief. When exiting highway and turning onto city street at 30mph very briefly the truck lost power and steering was like stuck, almost caused accident, truck felt like it turned off and on and jolted forward very hard and went back to normal. When I pulled into a parking lot the stabilitrak light came back on and truck stalled briefly again while turning at 15mph, all dash lights came on and power steering lost, truck went back to normal on its own.

Turned a corner while braking, the engine died, "service stabilitrac soon" illuminated on the instrument panel; driving down the road pulling a light weight boat trailer, the engine died but came back on immediately and the "service stabilitrac" illuminated; pulled into a parking lot and as I turned about halfway through the turn the engine died and "service stabilitrac soon" illuminated. I took to the truck to the Chevrolet dealer and they diagnosed the positive battery terminal was loose and the positive cable had too much resistance - $507. 00 later and approximately 10,000 miles later reared it's ugly head again. Coming back from a morning drive to the lake and the 'service stabilitrac' light illuminated but the truck didn't die, a little further down the road it did the same thing and died but started right back up on its own while driving, started to back into my driveway and it died in the middle of the road, turned the ignition off and attempted to start it two or three more times, nothing!!! it's like there was no battery installed. Every time this happens I lose steering, the brakes seem to fade but I am able to stop on the slow turns like into the parking lot. In all instances the vehicle was moving. One time I noticed an increase in the a/c speed within the cab and the 'service stabilitrac' illuminated but as soon as I turned about half way into a parking area, it died, but continued to pick back up on the engine running. The local dealer had also perfomed some service bulletin regarding the campaign for 'loss of steering assist' at 19,340 miles. The vehicle currently has 42,000 miles. . . . . The date "when did this happen" was today 7/16/2019 but the other times were various before this date.

The vehicle suffered intermittent failures to start (engine would not crank). The initial attempt to repair the issue by the dealer was to replace the battery and negative battery cable. The battery being replaced was less than 3 years old and it was the second battery the dealer had replaced in less than 5 years. The initial repairs failed. Ultimately, the problem was a faulty starter motor. A check of the part number of the factory starter motor that had been removed (see attached photo) indicates it is compatible with 2014 Chevrolet silverado/GMC sierra 1500 with the 4. 3l v6 engine. However, this vehicle has the 5. 3l v8 engine. Either the incorrect part was installed at the factory or gm determined it is not appropriate for the 5. 3l v8 engine and discontinued using it for this model. Regardless, gm never made any notification of the issue.

2014 1500 ltz almost killed myself several times in the past week. Lights begin to flicker and that's the first warning sign to watch for. Steering assist shuts down and truck stalls if turn continues at low speed. Shut down has happened various times now putting through a drive thru. Vehicle also shuts off while driving at 75mph.

I have a 2014 chevy silverado pick up truck. I have been extremely pleased with this truck until yesterday!!!! at 22,000 miles the truck malfunctioned twice within a short distance. The truck some what stalled with out warning and all the dash lights went crazy and truck lost power. Less than a half mile later while turning left in a cul DE sac the truck went crazy, stalled, dash lit up, the steering wheel violently turned to the right as I was attempting to turn left. Immediately took it into service. 4 days past warranty expiration. Chevy/jessup auto grp won't fix it. Kevin in service said he would call me on wed at 4 with update. Thurs at 11am still no word. Dropped by service dept. For update with kevin. He said they didn't have price ready for repair. Denied coverage under recently expired warranty. When I showed him a list of serious computer malfunctions and safety issues from online chevy truck owners he told me he wasn't interested and he had other people to tend to. He also said I dropped by without an appointment. In other words, I no longer was a priority. When asked for service dept general mgr. ---OH-he is not available. So now my low mileage truck sits with no repair, appears to be a hazard to drive, gm not standing behind nor has a fix for the computer malfunctions that has been reported widespread on carcomplaints. Com , leaves me with a very expensive paper weight that I am fearful to drive. It's another ignition key gm cover up and until enough people die and the feds get involved -- it appears I am driving a truck that is a danger to the road and jessup could care less !!.

1. Average gas mileage between 10 to 12mpg on freeway which is nowhere near what was shown on the sticker. 2. Transmission/torque converter won't disengage from engine properly when braking & pushes the truck under engine power, to a stop at random times. The ecm/tcm is having communication errors or problems causing hazardous conditions to present themselves at random unpredictable intervals to drivers. 11. Engine misses/stalls when making sharp turns at random: fails to accelerate when merging into oncoming freeway traffic or turning out of parking lots. Again, the ecm/tcm is having some sort of software communication error which is causing hazardous conditions to present themselves at random unpredictable intervals to drivers. Freeway merging with oncoming traffic or out of a parking lot into oncoming traffic without the ability to accelerate the vehicle is an extremely hazardous condition not only to the passengers of the unresponsive vehicle but to the passengers/drivers in the oncoming traffic. -truck just bought back by gm at our loss.
