I was stopped on a heavily travelled road, waiting to make a left-hand turn. The engine suddenly stalled and I lost my power brakes and steering when this happened. I took the truck to the dealer and was told that the ac compressor locked-up. I believe the compressor locking-up caused the truck to stall. Had I been turning when this happened, a collision or worse could have occurred.
Steering locks during slow turns, air and radio turn off, sometimes engine stalls as well during turn while steering is locking and unlocking. Happens at slow speed. Has happened to me making a u turn into traffic.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While turning right at 5 mph, the engine stalled, the brakes failed to slow down the vehicle, the steering wheel became difficult to turn, and the vehicle lost power except for the esc indicator and a warning chime sounded. The failures recurred as the contact turned the vehicle to the left and the steering wheel also spun independently to the right. The vehicle was taken to jessup auto plaza in cathedral city, CA where it was diagnosed that the battery cable failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case for potential repurchase.
