I was backing into a parking stall the the brakes failed again! brake pedal was solid and would not depress to slow the truck to a stop. Only after extreme pedal pressure was there any braking action, but only slight. Because of this I hit the wall behind the truck. If someone was there, I would not have been able to stop. Gm/Chevrolet have a service bulletin out on this issue. An internet search came back with 312,000 results. I've talked to my selling Chevrolet dealer and they reluctant to deal with it. Does somebody need to die before something is done. This is the 4th or 5th time my brakes have failed.
Power brakes fail at low speed requiring more pressure to come to a complete stop. Occurred multiple times I while parking or idle speeds.
When pumping my brakes for traffic, backing out of driveway or driving in general etc. , brakes will fail and my truck keeps rolling. Not safe what so ever as I am stomping on the brakes as hard as I can and the truck will not stop. Please fix this issue by contacting Chevrolet for a recall. This has happened to multiple friends and family with this truck model and year. It is a problem and gm needs to know about it before somebody gets killed for brake failure. Truck is not even past 40,000 miles!!!.
I went to back out my driveway at low speeds and the brakes did not apply. I put it in drive and applied the brakes and they failed again. I applied the gas and went on my way the brakes seemed to work fine. But from idle to slow speeds (1-10 mph) the brakes fail and I have to press the brake as hard as I can or it will continue to roll. Have dodged several cars at red lights.
Brake system fails at low idle speed. When truck is put in gear the brake pedal becomes stiff and vehicle cannot stop. Brake pedal also does this in stop and go traffic. Chevrolet says this is not a safety issue. How is this not a safety issue? the problem is a mechanical pump called a power brake booster pump. We were told this can be replaced for $1100 and is not a warranted part. The only way to keep brake pressure at low speed is to hold your foot on the brake pedal and give vehicle gas to increase the rpm's. How is this safe?.
