The truck just shut down for no reason,then can not turn it or can not use the brakes to stop it,then will not start,then it will start in time.

2015 chevy silverado rack and pinion steering went only after 34,000. There are 900 cars recalled. My VIN was not mentioned but the something happen to me, no warning. I did my research and 2014,2015,2016 all effected. It's something to do with the module. I have two small children do you know how frightening this is. How could this me the company said my care is not affected by the VIN. But it is. They are not owning up to the situation. Can you help me please?.

When going at low speed, power braking fails, and I have almost crashed my truck several times. Also - when going at low speeds, my electronic power steering fails - it's difficult to turn and the steering wheel "kicks back" in my hands. Extremely difficult to turn. For months I have been experiencing small issues at first, turn signal quit making noise, and then the radio quit working, this issue would only be corrected by turning off the vehicle, and restarting it, now the problem has gotten worse, tpms lights up on the dashboard the stabillitrack icon appears, and vehicle appears to stall momentarily and the radio goes blank, the most dangerous part is the electric steering wheel locks up, I have read several complaints online about this issue, and find no solution has ever been recorded, so far I have experiment this issue at low speeds and it is a interment problem that randomly happens.

The 2015 chevy silverado has a very common problem, which I am shocked has not been put under a nation wide recall. A manufacturing issue of placing the negative battery cable in the wrong spot, causes the dash, power steering, stability tracking and air conditioning to shut off completely. When braking, the dash shuts off and the steering wheel locks, which has sent me into oncoming traffic. My brother had the exact same year make and model of truck and had the same exact issue. When his needed to be fixed, he was told the same thing from the dealership. “the negative battery cable should have never been in placed in that position, but relocating it will fix the problem. Only, after replacing the battery it burned out as well. Here is the text I received from the dealership today. “hey brian, this is matt @ ken garff Chevrolet, we have tracked the problem down on the truck to the negative battery cable. It has high resistance causing the electrical issues. Estimate for repairs $492 before tax. Reply stop to optout. ” it’s a very good thing they diagnosed the issue, since I told them what it was when I walked in their shop. I told them verbatim what they sent back to me. There are literally thousands of complaints online with the same issue. How does a manufacturing fault, that is most definitely a safety issue, become the consumers expense. This problem is much worse, and more dangerous than the recalls that are currently on the vehicle. How many accidents and how much consumer money needs to be spent, before a recall is placed on such a common manufacturing issue. Please let me know what needs to be done to get this taken care of, so more people aren’t in danger, or screwed into paying to fix a blatant error by the manufacturer.

Unknown when driving vehicle will randomly and often lose power -- the radio and dash lights go out, the steering wheel locks up -- sometimes the vehicle will have to be restarted.

During slower driving and turning wheel, power steering hardens up and motor has shut down while in motion. When trying to turn wheel turning hard into parking or turning sharper turns while driving this occurs! very concerned for my safety and causing a crash. Busy street driving on highway and also in parking areas this has occurred.

Loss of steering assist. When driving at low speeds and making turns, vehicle has a temporary loss of eps assist followed by a sudden return of eps assist. Dealer states safety recall #18289 has been completed; however, the vehicle continues to exhibit the exact same failure which this recall is supposed to correct.

Has happened multiple times the locks start locking and unlocking rappedley the steering gets hard and the truck dies losing all control of it.

Truck seems to lose power when slowing down. Steering wheel locks up. Dash display go dark and comes back. Stability track warning. Airbag warning. Headlights flicker. Ac and fan go out. Happens when making turns at a slow speed. And when hitting the brake at any speed.

When driving truck on a busy road the warning sign of (service stabilitrak) pops up on dashboard and lights would flicker turning on and off as the truck would also seem to turn off and quickly back on regaining electric power. When reversing it started locking the steering wheel and the (service stabilitrak) warning sign would pop up. Truck was taken to dealership twice for recalls and they said problem was corrected and now it's there for the third time as we speak. When I parked in my driveway I was able to record the incident and video was sent to dealership mechanic. Last Sunday as I headed out to buy dinner, my vehicle seemed to be running fine. I noticed the dashboard lights flickered twice and that was it. When I was approximately 25 miles from my residence (service stabilitrak) warning popped on dashboard and truck completely turned off locking my brakes loosing complete control of the vehicle and it went on its own into a busy intersection going downhill. Steering wheel and brake was locked loosing all electrical and driving control. It would not turn, it would not do any changes. My truck ended up bumping into a sidewalk, I was terrified as I almost lost my life. Shaking in fear I tried to restart my truck and it did turn on. I went inside the shopping center parking lot, parked and called aaa so my vehicle could be towed to our nearest dealership. We had an appointment at the dealership for Tuesday due to negative reviews and they were going to look at our vehicle again. However, I never expected that I would almost loose my life. It's the third time it's been seen and I fear it will be the same scenario. I cannot put my family's life at risk. The truck is currently at the dealership being serviced. I will not be driving this vehicle unless I have been given proof that they fixed the issue. I have documentation for proof.

When I am turning at low speeds, usually below 10mph, power-steering assist stops working temporarily and then suddenly starts working again.

I was driving and was making a left hand turn when my steering locked up and straightened out my wheels witch made my truck drive forward for a second and then it stopped and allowed me to continue my turn. A few days after this happened I was driving over a bumpy road and it did it again and a bell started ringing and a power steering message came on my dash and it persisted for about 10 minutes and I haven't drove my truck since.

I estimate this has happened over 10 times. I lose all electrical power to the vehicle and the car shuts off, often this is preceded by loss of power steering and low speed. The last time this happened when pulling out into traffic; the steering kicked back, the truck lost all electrical power, dash went blank, radio dark, including loss of head lights, I will reiterate that this happened while pulling into traffic. This truck cost me over $40k new and I believe chevy is aware of the problem, then simply don't want to cover the cost of parts and labor to fix. The dealership told me they had no idea what the issue could be, then I found several gm documents online. It appears this is a known issue, and they even list 2015 silverado on documents. Bulletin no. : 18-na-161 (the issues in this match exactly what I've experienced) also reference number:n172085440 please help me convince Chevrolet to fix this issue or force them to do a recall.

While driving, the radio and all other electric components will go dark or quit working altogether, including the ac blower, compressor, headlights, etc. Sometime I get the stabilitrack alert with 3 or 4 tones, which resets automatically. When waiting in a drive through line today, when I depress the brake pedal, it happens again. While waiting in line, I sometimes put the transmission in park. When I depress the brake, and move the transmission control into drive, it happens, and more frequently, the engine shuts off. When turning the wheel, the power steering seems to go out, making it almost impossible to turn the vehicle, all the while the stabilitrack alarm goes off, the headlights go dark, the ac shuts down, the dash display goes dark, the door locks cycle up and down, and the engine shuts down. Today, it almost caused me not to negotiate turning from a major road into a parking lot. I lost all power to the steering, the engine shut down, and my brakes were non-existent. After reading other complaints on here, I decided I needed to tell my story. I received the recall notices, and have not ventured to the dealership for repairs, fearing exposure to the covid-19 virus. After reading everyone else's problems, and hearing that even the recall repairs do not fix the problem, I cannot help but wonder if there is more going on here than gm is willing to admit. I will not let my wife drive this vehicle, because if it happens to her, there is no way she can maneuver a stalled vehicle with no power steering and no brakes. So it looks I have the same story as others, and no real solution to my problem that the dealerships are willing to fix, or even admitting that there is a problem.

I purchased the silverado 2014 in July 2018 dealer ship in orangeburge SC. 3 months after driveing the truck I pulled to stop sign when pulled off the stearing wheel went left and my intentions was to go straight my luck was on my side that day. I finally fought the steering back straight and pulled over turned truck off then started back up and no probloms until later on started getting codes on the dash so I took to dealer ship closet one near me , they reboted the ecm and I told the service manger at that time I open the hood and showed him the wire that sometimes I go to start truck all it would do make a cliking noise open hood shake the big cable coming from the battery then truck would start, finaly summer arrives I start useing my air condition it finally went out took back too dealer they say needed new compressor I had warranty at the time replaced compressor after 2 week no a/c back 2nd time a/c issues they put die in compressor no leaks drive another 2 weeks same no a/c tack back to dealer then they tell me my waranty has run out and appears you have condinsor leaking refrigerant they wanted me to pay for I finally agreed to pay half and dealer pay half . Going back to about the second time I took the truck to the dealer when it was under warranty showed service manager cable that would cause truck not start until wiggled the wire. He told me that if that problom would have to change the ecm he said would cost alot of money when come 3rd time they refered to a dealership in rockinham nc. So they could do a electrical codes diagnostic after my warranty had out when I asked why dont yall have the machine hear after you seen me at dealership 7 times after took truck rockingjam nc. Dealer checked codes erased few and few weeks later get into crash going arond a SUV and cotton picker after starting go around SUV turns left I tryed to turn steering wheel back over to my drive lane I had no stearing crashed into SUV both total loss.

Originally had a recall for the power steering and my truck went to get that recall done and not even 2 months later the same exact thing happened. Lower steering went out. I’ve already put in a complaint a while back when it happened but never heard anything so im putting in another one until I hear something to get ot fixed/reimbursed.

Apparently my truck already had the steering recall preformed, but I'm having the same issue still. The power steering stopped twice while driving, almost causing us to hit another vehicle. The lights will also dim almost to off while turning the steering wheel while stationary, also power steering will quick momentarily while doing this also. What do you suggest I do?.

On more than one occasion I have lost steering control while turning right at low speed. The steering wheel seems to lock up for one to two seconds making it impossible to turn right. 1. In turning lane on city street turning right onto side street. From stationary position I pressed on the gas to turn right and cross traffic. Steering locked up and truck would not turn right. In about a second or so the steering freed and I was able to continue on 2. At a drive through car was in stationary position. At the end of wash and dry out truck in drive and proceeded to turn right. Steering locked up and I was unable to turn right for about a second or so. Then steering freed and I was able to proceed. 3. At stop light stationary making a right hand turn pressed on gas and steering locked up for a second or so. Then steering freed and I was able to proceed.

While in motion, especially in slow turns, the vehicle completely shuts down. Power steering goes and battery completely drained. When problem is occurring dashboard lights are affected. Dashboard lights light up and go blank. Truck will not start unless jumpstarted. This has happened multiple times since summer of 2019. Contacted banks Chevrolet and concord new hampshire and they said they are not aware of any known problems. Parked my truck came out to get in and go to work and had no power steering at all I was backing up in my driveway and was stuck in the middle of a battle creek city street unable to turn it even broke my finger/tendon on finger may having to have surgery due to no power steering and the great force I had to use to try to get it out of the road.

Brought this vehicle in several times to the dealership for electric power steering momentarily failing and coming back. Dealership says this VIN is not associated to a recall. This issue has almost caused me several accidents as well as the shop foreman/manager. This is safety related and needs to be addressed.
