The initial call in for service it was taken in on 12292020/mileage 1020 for a oil change and a clunking noise coming back from the rear end at low speeds, while turning and going over bumps at all speeds. The dealership was able to hear the noise and advised that they cannot find out where the noise is coming from. The dealership advised that they submitted a ticket to gm for the noise. On 03022021/mileage 2797 the truck was taken back into the dealer for the same noise because its getting louder. The dealer again said that they heard the noise but cannot figure it out. They advised that they submitted another ticket with gm waiting to hear back from them they closed out the ticket on 03102021 with no answer from gm. I have also called gm customer service and spoke with on 03102021, and told me to call them back because they had to try and let the dealer resolve the issue and the dealer is waiting to hear from gm. The dealer did advise me that there was a service bulletin for 2020 chevy 1500 pick ups but nothing for 2021s so they can do nothing yet, the sound sounds like to me that the axels are going to come loose or the suspension is going to drop. I am afraid to drive the vehicle fearful that something is going to come off or the suspension is going to drop if I attempt to tow something. Thus causing pain, injury or death to myself or another innocent party. I am considering taking it to another dealer again to see what they say, but I feel this is safety concern all people who are hearing this noise on their 2021 chevy pick ups. I also would like to add that this truck has no suspension modifications of any type and is all stock. Thank you for taking the time to look into this. Also attached are the work orders from the chevy dealership. Thank you again.

Front suspension noise - during cold weather and when first driving within the first 1/2 mile, a loud noise comes from the front suspension after driving over a bump or speed bump. This only happened when very cold and within the first 1/2 mile. Brought the vehicle to the dealer at 35000 miles (koons Chevrolet, tysons corner, va) and under warranty they re-torqued the front frame cross member and lower control arms. I actually could not believe that Chevrolet and the dealer stated that was the problem. In all my years repairing cars, I have never heard of a "frame cross member" requiring re-torqueing especially on a new vehicle. If it was loose along with the lower control arms, that would indicate a serious problem. Problem was not resolved. 6 months later when cold again, brought the truck to the dealer and they now state that "the sway bar bushings required lubrication". Again, I have never heard of a rubber bushing requiring lubrication. Immediately after taking the truck from the dealer, I took pictures of the sway bar bushings sowing all the lubricant oozing out. I have addressed this issue with gm and they have been non-responsive. My concern is with all the vibrations that these trucks have reported, the life cycle of the front sway bar bushings will be reduced and could have a serious detrimental affect during a crash as the vehicle gets older. I was told there is no gm service bulletin on the issue. The dealer just wants the problem to go away and not see the truck again. Gm needs to address this issue properly from a technical point of view from their engineers.

Takata recall. While backing out of my driveway I heard a loud clunking sound coming from the under carriage of my truck. It stopped for a second and then did it again the clunking sound got progressively louder. I noticed the sound at low speeds, high speeds, going over minor bumps and big bumps in the road. Additionally, while going over big bumps I could hear what sounded like flexing and/or grinding metal coming from the rear suspension. I stopped the vehicle and proceeded to rock it back and forth and noticed the knocking/grinding sounds coming from the under carriage and the suspension. I got back in the vehicle and drove off and the sounds again started. I have infant twins that I was driving in my vehicle at this time and I became very concerned for their safety and mine. I took the vehicle to the dealership (since it is brand new and at the time only had 2-3k miles on it). They said "its a known problem in Chevrolet trucks" the paperwork they gave me after the "repair" stated" lubricate rear leaf springs and re-torque bolts" this indicates I had loose suspension components. The problem occurred again and I again took the truck to the dealership. They again stated the same repair and refused to provide any other remedy and also refused to replace the leaf springs. The same problem happened again. Again I took the truck to the dealership and again they refused to provide any other form of service to remedy the problem. My truck has less than 8k miles on it and it has been in the shop on 4 separate instances for the same suspension problem. The clunking and loose suspension noises have returned and I will be taking the truck in for the 5th time. This is unsafe, and my wife refuses to drive in my truck nor allow me to drive our children in our truck because shes concerned for their safety!.
Suspension makes noises when turning or going over bump. Driver seat feels like it moves/shifts slightly when making a turn. No brake pedal or rock hard brake pedal at low speeds, in traffic, or when in reverse.

Tl the contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that there was an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle while driving up an incline at slow speeds. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to coulter Buick GMC tempe (7780 s autoplex loop, tempe, az 85284) where the manufacturer was informed of the issue and a factory representative was sent out to inspect the vehicle. The factory representative then informed him that there were no found issues with the vehicle. The contact then took the vehicle to jerry seiner Chevrolet (1990 n pinal Ave, casa grande, az 85122) where the contact pointed out that there was wearing on the front two tires that he believed was related to the suspension. The vehicle remained in the possession of the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 1,700.

The truck shakes at speeds of from 35 mph, then it stops and when driving on the highway at speeds between 60 and 70 on the thruway it shakes again. The vibration is transferred through the gas pedel and into the seats and console. Also when brakeing it shakes. Its been in for service several times for this since I bought it. Also the voltage meter drops and I lose dash board lights. This happens while the vehicle was in motion on both city and highway driving. I'm tired of loseing valuable days off to drive up to denooyer chevy in albany to have them look at this again. The truck travels straight and true but shakes at those speeds, sometime it makes a drowning sound as it happens. Its in the front end part of the suspension I believe. The tires were all high speed balanced and air is perfect in all 4 tires. Has anyone experienced this?.
Rear leaf spring assembly, leaf spring bushings and hardware premature failure. Possible leaf spring and or frame mount inadequately designed. Rear leaf spring assembly, specifically the bushings and mounting hardware failed on one set of leaf springs, and is in the process of failing on a second replacement set, resulting in undesirable bind/wobble sounds and hollow thump noise felt inside the cabin (noise similar to a loose spare tire wobbling and striking the underside of the truck bed). The problem is most noticeable at low speeds both in reverse and forward. The more miles on the vehicle, the louder and more frequent the issue becomes. The concern is of premature part failure or breakage resulting in injury. The original set of gm leaf springs that were installed at the gm factory were manufactured in canada and failed around 15,000 miles. Gm replacement leaf springs installed were made in mexico and are failing at about 15,000 miles. The total mileage on the vehicle as of 5/30/2017 is about 30,000 miles. The vehicle is well cared for and is always serviced at the gm dealership at manufacturer's recommended intervals. Mostly highway miles. Primarily daily commuter vehicle to and from a desk job. No hauling or loads in the bed of the truck. The manufacturer/dealers issued TSB's recommending to pressure wash the leaf spring assembly, check suspension hardware torque specs, and disassemble, lube and re-assemble the leaf spring pack. These have been performed by a gm dealer and did not resolve the problem. Replacing the springs has not permanently resolved the issue. Gm truck forums indicate other owners of this model and year+/- report the similar experiences in the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and sierra model gm pickups. Some owners have replaced factory parts with aftermarket leaf springs with success in permanantly resolving the issue and concern.
