1 Tire Sidewall problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 01/02/2026

My truck tires were bought at costco in 2015 and had 70k warranty or 6yrs wcf. My added truck mileage since then is 12k miles. I discovered my driver rear passenger tire go flat . I put the spare and took it to costco for repair. Costco informed me that this is a tire defect as the tire had a side wall perforation. Tire cannot be repaired and a new replacement is required. I looked up michelin tire recalls and found one issued in 2013 about michelin x-radial tires discussing this same defect but it did not include my tire size ( p245/70r17 ) . Fortunately this incident did not occur while driving at high speed.

2 Tire Sidewall problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 10/05/2023

Tire size 285/45r22 114h . While driving on the interstate at 70 mph had a large vibration that started occurring. When I was pulling over to figure out what was going on I heard a loud bang and suddenly lost air pressure to the drivers side front tire. Once pulled over I could see the tire was flat. Upon removal of the tire I found the inner sidewall had blown. The tread was also separating in the area where the damage was. The tires are only 2. 5 years old and have only 22. 5k miles. They have been rejuvenate rotated with the last rotation just 3k miles prior. The company refused to honor their warranty stating it looked like the damage was caused by a pothole (which never occurred).

5 Tire Sidewall problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 03/22/2022

Hello, I noticed sidewall bulging on all 4 of my cooper discoverer a/t 275/55r20. After googling I saw that a recall exists (NHTSA campaign nr:21t002000) then I called and sent all my dot to cooper and they said my tires are the wall-mart special version which is not included in this recall. So I tried wall-mart and they are not helping either (no recall exists is always their answer. . . ) my 4 tires are the exact size and produced in the week listet in the recall 21t002000 and show the exact same issues (big bulges in sidewall which are filled with air) just the fact that it is a discoverer a/t tire not a discoverer a/t3 4s makes cooper tell me my tires are not in the recall. I believe there are more faulty tires out there and you should look into this since 4 out of 4 tires I have are bad. I am happy to bring my car to you guys to analyse.

Failure Date: 08/20/2010

The drivers side rear tire sidewall peeled apart on chevy 2008 silverado with ameritrac tires 245/70r17 with only 10,000 miles on vehicle. When I took the tire to the dealer, since it should have been under warranty they claimed it was due to a puncture in the tire. They also said it was from a piece of screw driver that was planet in the vehicle. The piece of screw driver wasn't there until the car was taken to the dealer, so not only didn't they fix the car they damaged it.

10 Tire Sidewall problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 03/27/2009

I purchased four goodyear tires @ sears in 2009. . Ever since I purchased these tires my truck has had a bounce between 35-40 mph. . . . . I also had the front end aligned on the same day. . . . . I noticed that there are bumps that stick out on the sidewalls and complained about this but was told that that was normal when the tires are manufactured. . . . I have looked at some other tires and do not notice these types of defect on these. . . I have taken my vehicle back at least four times to have the balance checked but still the same problem. . . . And the problem is not addressed. . . I cannot help but think that these bumps on the sidewall are causing the bouncing. . . At the moment these tires have about 8,000 miles on them.

11 Tire Sidewall problem of the 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 06/16/2008

I am filing this complaint about greendiamond tires of NY. I worked there 2 1/2 years and was let go because I spoke out about the poor quality of the tires being built. There have been numerous tires that have had catastrophic failures, resulting in the company covering them up by paying for damages done to vehicles. I have in my possession several tires with these defects. I told management about the numerous problems with the tires and my position at the company was eliminated. They continue to sell and ship these tires with no concern for consumer safety, even after they themselves checked and gauged these tires only to find the sidewalls, top rubber and casings used in the build process to be faulty. Please investigate this company before someone has a fatality driving on these tires. I myself had a tire explode on a company truck on the highway and was barely able to control the vehicle.

13 Tire Sidewall problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 09/19/2007

Events last week, one of our 2005 silverado's (has 40,000 miles), while driving on the interstate had a serious tire blow out. It tore completely apart. We have pictures to document the condition of the tire. The rim of the truck was damaged because of the tire blow out. After the tire blew out, the truck was completely on the rim. Luckily, the driver was not injured. This was a very serious incident, but he was able to pull onto the shoulder and not damage the truck any further. The tire was a bridgestone dueler a/t. Under the select tire size the correct information is 26570r17. I was unable to put this information in that box. Failure the tire blew out. What was done to correct the failure we had the rim repaired and the 4 tires replaced.

14 Tire Sidewall problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 05/29/2006

All car makers of light trucks including the 1500 series (1/2 ton) should be installing lt rated tires of at least 8 ply ratings since the trucks are being sold for and used to haul trailers and heavy loads. In past experience, I have had tire failures from the passenger car tires that came on units that were a result of being too soft on the sidewall for support of cornering and weight shifting.

15 Tire Sidewall problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 04/18/2006

Driving at low speed in downtown macon, right front tire blew out. Sidewall had 0. 5 inch slit and obviously was beginning to "separate" (I could see what looked like a thread). Tires were just balanced/rotated week of April 10, 2006. Tread looks ok. Could see "deterioration" around entire tire sidewall above lettering and below tread. Inspected the inner side of the tire wall and noticed same deterioration in same area (rubber was cracked in defined area completely around the tire).
