2 Tire problem of the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 05/28/2024

Tire: 275/60r20 I was driving at the top of bay bridge, MD and the rear tire just blew up and automatically messaged came on the gauge cluster and my phone that there’s 0psi in the tire so I had to stop on top of the bridge and put a spare on which was quite dangerous but I had no choice because I couldn’t drive on the rim, tow truck showed up and helped me, I had only couple ladders on the back so there was almost no additional weight on the tires and at only couple months old vehicle with only 4,900 miles this should’ve happened. I automatically went to the dealership that I bought the truck and showed them the picture where it happened and what exactly happened and at first they wanted me to pay for the tire but I insisted that they will have to replace it for free because they sold me a vehicle with defective tire so days later they did install a new tire as a one time courtesy they said, but I did check on this tire and there’s a 3yr free replacement warranty if it’s a defective tire but the dealer didn’t tell me that, so now I wonder if any of my other tires will have the same defect?.

I began to notice chunks of rubber tread coming off of all 4 tires when they had approximately 27,000 miles. I had them inspected at the dealership due to safety concerns. I was told it was normal wear for these tires. The tires are rated for 70,000 miles. I currently have 36,500 miles on my vehicle and took it in for regular maintenance and tire rotation. I was told that the tires needed to be replaced due to pitting and chunking. There is good tread left on the tires, however the rubber is coming off in huge chunks on all 4 tires. My name is shawn rad from jim's auto sales, inc. We purchased a large amount of tires from turbo tires in irwindale California over the past 10 years. We recently ceased purchasing from them as we suspected quality contorl issues with their tires. Not long after, we received an extremely vague recall notice stating a numerous amount of their tires sold from 2018 on can suddenly fail. We contacted them with a request to help us notify all of our customers and our request has fallen on deaf ears. We require assistance in notifying our over 1000 potentially affected customers. We have received no assitance from turbo tires or sentury tire. I'm filing this complaint in hopes your department can encourage our suppliers to fulfill their obligation in helping us keep our customers safe.

17 Tire problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 10/28/2016

I purchased a new, 2016 Chevrolet slverado 1500 in August of this year. I have been dealing with a vibration rtelated problem at highway speeds in my truck. I have also filed a complaint on the vehicle on this site. After days of frustration with gm and continental tire company, I came accross atire recall for the exact tire on my truck giving me the same problem. I have a high speed vibration. The dealer has completed a road force balance that they say meets gm specs. The service manager at the dealer says he too can feel the vibration, but has no authorization to proceed. It has been a dog and pony dance for the past few weeks. Gm has done nothing to fix my issue. There is a recall on the exact tires on my truck for the same issue, but my tires do not fall in the lot of tires recalled. I beleive there is still a manufacture defect in my tires! the recall notice is as follows:NHTSA campaign number: 16t016000 . I have logged a complaint with continental. I have visited discount tire store in woodstock GA. They are an authorized distributor for continental. Continental expectes me to pay for a new set of tires and wait or their analysis to decide if I will be reimbursed. Meanwhile, gm is doing nothing as of yet exceot stalling to fix the problem. No parts have been replaced. I am filing this complaint because I beleive there is still an issue with these tires. The discount tire store manager said he had another silverado customer with the same tire and complaint come in a week prior to me . That customer was having the same issues with a different dealer he purchased the truck from. How many people have to die before the tire issue is addressed? who is accountable for my wife to take to court should it happen to me? please look into this immediatley.

Failure Date: 01/10/2011

I purchased (4) nitto terra grappler at 265/70/17 tires about 2 months ago. Ever since I've had them I've been having a sliding problem. When I almost come to a complete stop the tires start sliding on dry and dirt free pavement and activates my abs. My abs sensors are not dirty. I've never had this problem with tires like I do with these. It can be dangerous and very surprising at times when I drive with this problem occurring. I sent the manufacturer a complaint email. But never got a response. My local dealer says it's a tire problem. Only thing I can do is disable the abs. But even if I do that it won't stop the sliding.

Failure Date: 05/01/2010

I have a 2009 silverado crew cab that came with goodyear eagle LS-2 tires--dot m62a bcer. Also, my silverado came with a tire monitoring system. On 1 may 2010 I was driving in a residential area of wylie, texas, very slowly, probably around 5 mph because there were cars parked on both sides of the street and people standing by their vehicles talking. Immediately after passing between the cars the rear drivers side back tire collapsed, apparently a blowout. I called my insurance roadside assistance that changed my tires. I asked the man who changed my tires if he had a compressor on his tow truck, and he did. Because he or I neither one could see any nails nor anything else protruding into the tire, I asked him to air the tire up. He aired the tire up and immediately said here is your problemair blowing out of the side of the tire. I looked the road over where the tired collapsed, but found nothing. Twenty minutes earlier I was traveling on u. S. 75 in plano, texas going 60 mph in heavy traffic. My silverado will let me know if my tires are low. I had no warning before there was an apparent blowout. The tire had 27,700 miles, plus or minus a couple of miles, at the time it collapsed. The tire had good thread and had been routinely rotated. The tire monitoring system let me know when I put the spare on that I should check the tire. I have notified goodyear of this incident.
