I had just left RV park in kingman, az. I had cruise control set at 59mph when my truck began a violent shacking and a lot of banging. I pulled over on the shoulder of I-40, got out to find tread had come off of the tire and was now wedge between brake backing plate and leaf spring. It had not lost air. Just tread came off. When tow truck driver showed up several hours later, tire was still holding air. He jacked up the axle, but deflated tire before he would remove it from truck and put on my spare. I always check my tires when I leave RV parks or after stopping at rest stops. Saw nothing wrong with tire or air pressure that morning. I had only been driving 45 minutes, outside temp was low 80's.

My 2017 chevy silverado has four general tires 285/45 r22 114 h installed. Dot hw6t hmw1 on all four tires. We had driven to ohio from NY over the weekend and on the return trip (about 900 miles into the trip) the air pressure light came on and I noticed the rear driver side tire had 23 lbs of air. The leak was slow enough that I was able to drive 2 miles to a exit and stop at a gas station. When I got out I could hear the air leaking from the tire but could not see any visible issue yet. After jacking up the truck and removing the tire that's when I notice the tread was completely splitting away from the tire. See pictures. The tread had split about 3/4 of the way around the tire. Although this tire is not on the list for the recall 21t001000 the defect description matches.

Tires have 24,300 miles on them were factory installed upon purchase of vehicle in 2018. In April of 2022 while driving on freeway at 65 mph noticed a vibration in steering. Inspected tires when I reached destination and discovered the passenger side front tire had a bulge in the tread and was starting to separate. Replaced at a local tire shop and was told that they had seen numerous tire tread separations of this make and model tire. Goodyear wrangler sr-a 265/60-20. Tire still had significant amount of tread remaining (half worn). In late may of 2022 had another tire tread separate from driver side rear of same vehicle.

Tire failure- adventurer p245/75r16; no indication of tire stress or low pressure. I rotate and check tire pressure monthly. Proceeding on i95 in las vegas nv 2001 chevyrolet silverado truck rear tire lost the tread around whole tire. After sliding sideways for 1 second at 65 mph. I gained control of vehicle. Proceeded to exit highway safely. Tread of tire came of like a retreat damaging $3,000 estimated body work. I purchased tires at pep boys 3490 e. Sunset rd. Las vegas nv. Tires have 60,000 mile warranty with only less than 20,000 miles on them. Pep boys will not even prorate tires for me because there is severe damage to truck and adventurer is a discontinued tire from cooper tires. I have perchased 8 of these tires for both trucks I own and do not trust them even though they look and feel new. Pep boys will not help and tells me to contact cooper tires. I can't even get them to take down my odometer or look at damaged tire. I cannot trust my families safety on these discontinued tires. Tires are adventuer p245/75r16 manufactured by cooper tires.
Took my truck to the dealership and was advised my tires were almost bald. . . Had only 16,900+ miles. Dealership replace tires, but not the same type. Yes, same brand, bridgestone dueller a/t. Also dealership did a realignment. Truck never rode the same after the alignment and the new tires. Dealership replaced two on the back after my mechanic noted they were egg shaped. This still did not correct the problem. Tires given to me were bad and the dealership would not correct. Took it to another dealership and their gm rep wrode with me and noted the truck running rough from the tires. Ordered a road force balancing on the tires. This did not work also. Now this dealership will look at my vehicle an further. Truck is still under warranty. Did take it to tire service center and they said the tires are bad and truck needs realignment and also a check of the front end. Advisor stated he could feel every divot in the road, which is not normal. Faxed their report to the local gm rep and he refuses to acknowledge the problem. Neither dealership will even look at the problem. I am afraid for the safety of my family. Can you help me?.
