Transmission is changing out very hard in each gear. On tonight while I was driving, I lost speed on the interstate and when I push the accelerator, it was like back wheels were locked up. I left it at the next exit gas station and came back and towed it home. Lucky I was able to put hazard lights on and get off the side of the road but it was very slow speed. Yes I have had it look at certified dealer under cheverolet. It was no warning light. I was going 65 and in a split second the rpm went up high and I was doing like 25. Once I finally made it to the gas station and got out the truck smell like a burning smell.

My husband was driving our family truck onto the highway to merge into traffic, when he lost all engine power, several dash lights turned on, and a clanking noise started. This was an extremely dangerous situation because the truck stalled, while trying speed up into highway traffic. He swerved to avoid cars and pulled off to the right shoulder. This a major safety issue because if either of my teenage daughters had been driving the truck, they would likely not have been able to avoid an accident! mechanics confirmed the truck had suffered a catastrophic engine failure while driving. The dealership confirmed a lifter failed causing the damage. They said the whole engine had to be replaced. Gm offered to pay half of cost, proving they know this is an issue. The truck's not even 5 years old, so the fact that engine would just stop while driving, when we had kept up with regular maintenance, sounded bizarre to me. I researched online and learned of 2 class action lawsuits (CA & mi) claiming gm knows about this defect in their engine and continuing to sell trucks with the same safety issue. Not more than 2 weeks after our incident, hundreds of thousands of the 6. 3l engines were recalled after a NHTSA investigatio. Gm has issued several service bulletins internally on "failing lifters", but has not told the public of the safety hazard. The service bulletins acknowledge the issue, recommending gm mechanics use a lighter oil (sae-0w20 instead of the customary sae-0w40) or change the oil more frequently. (service update n212353840). But car owners don't know this! gm is putting lives at risk, as no one expects their engine to completely give out while on the highway. Thankfully, my husband has been driving for 35 years. Had it been a younger, more inexperienced driver, they would not have been able to recover from the engine failure, especially while merging into high speed traffic - causing a crash, injuries and possibly death. The public deserves to know.
My 2020 silverado duramax was at the dealer for recall , next day check engine light came on and rear wheels got locked up , the dealer installed new transmission valve , next day same problem check engine light and rear wheels locked up again, now the dealer said is something to be with a speed sensor and I have to paid for it , my truck was perfectly working before all this recall thing, it’s been 3 weeks now with no transportation, because gm and chevy dealer don’t want to respond or fix this problem with the transmission valve and transmission control module software that was installed my truck was all good before this matter.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the message “engine oil too hot” was displayed. While driving 60-70 mph, the vehicle lost motive power while driving uphill. The vehicle failed to shift into neutral. The contact went underneath the vehicle and removed the drive shaft. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA action number pe25001 (engine, engine, and engine cooling). The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that parts were on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 66,410.
The car while I’m driving, when I start driving it has a kick could be transmission.

Vehicle message "reduced acceleration drive with care" . My car then ran like it was in 1st gear for my drive home. Next morning couldn't go into reverse so I had to have my buddy help me tow it. Went to the dealer and they said that it's "an ongoing issue with gm that they haven't addressed with several vehicles and the part (valve body) is on backorder with no eta. With this horrible safety issue you would think gm would just take the hit and change out the entire transmission instead of making people wait so long without their vehicles.

My truck had a check engine light come on for the transmission 2 months ago and then it went off before it was serviced. They said they couldn’t do anything since the light went off. Then last week I didn’t have reverse and it wouldn’t shift into gear. A week after it had been in the shop they told me the transmission valve body needs to be replaced. Expected date for parts to arrive is 3-10.

The digital gauge cluster where speedometer and other essential gauges for the vehicle failed. It is available upon request. My safety is at risk as I’m unable to determine speed, monitor abs, or monitor other essential features that the guage cluster provides. It also periodically blinks on startling me and putting my life and others in danger. The dealership has confirmed this problem and saodnit is a know issue with this year model but my particular VIN number wasn't recalled. The dealership has inspected the part. There were no symptoms or messages prior to the part failing.
I was driving to work from livingston to bozeman and the roads were bad so I was only going about 60 maybe 65 which was reasonable for the conditions this day, and out of nowhere my truck locked up and I slid it directly into the center median.
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle and attempting to shift into drive(d), the vehicle failed to shift or respond as needed. The contact became aware that the vehicle also failed to shift into reverse(r). After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality and the contacts son was able to shift into drive. The contact stated that while her son was driving 50 mph, the vehicle briefly accelerated independently before returning to normal functionality. A message to "please decelerate and drive with caution" was displayed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the throttle body. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to technical service bulletin: 24na181. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 7,000.
Vehicle has less than 35k miles. Vehicle started and operated normally attempted to turn onto main thoroughfare from a stop. While still in drive, vehicle engine rev’d up but transmission did not engage. Attempted to cycle through gear selector with same result. Reverse is the only gear that allowed vehicle movement. Serious safety concern if this were to happen while traveling at any significant speed or if trying to merge or cross heavy traffic. Vehicle has not had an official diagnosis, but I believe this is a transmission valve body problem known to the manufacturer. There was no indication prior to this event of any mechanical or electrical problems with the vehicle. This issue could easily get someone killed.
Transmission slipping.

Driving vehicle down freeway about 75mph heard noise and truck shut speeds down to about 60mph on a major freeway. Per mechanic lifter has collapsed and it has been a common issue that chevy knows about. He said that it could have been alot worse by seizing the engine and causing harm to drive or other people around causing a major accident. There is a major safety issue to life and or death caused by this issue that has not been a concern and causing people to pay over $5000. 00 for repairs. Chevy has known about the faulty lifters for years and doesn't seem to care about safety concerns.
Abs locks up because of faulty wheel speed sensors known problem locking up brake pedal resulting in loss of control of vehicle causing collisions and dangerous situations.

Dealership attempting to sell a vehicle with an open recall was more than prepared to let me drive and potentially sell a vehicle with a recall open causing the rear tires to randomly lock up. Made problem known to salesman and said they'd take it off the market. Now, they lowered the price by $2600 as it was previously listed at $25,571, now listed at $22,971. Listing still not down.
10 miles from home on [xxx] after thanksgiving with my children sleeping at [xxx] in snowy cold weather, my engine began to fail. Power was limited on hills and the check engine light would come on and go back off when on flat or downhill. The next morning I took my truck to the dealer that I purchased it from where I was told the lifters had failed and I need a new engine. 1000 miles after I replaced my engine my transmission failed completely requiring a transmission replacement. Immediately upon picking up the vehicle and going down a long hill in the area, engine breaking turned on as expected but as the truck tried to slow itself, after 2 or 3 downshifts, the transmission began making a loud grinding sound and while still going close to 50 mph, the speedometer showed 10-15 mph and the tach dropped to idle. The transmission was decoupled from the motor. When gas was reapplied it seemed to make the connection again and resume normal driving. I called the dealership whose techs did not believe me and told me that I could 'turn off' the engine breaking feature. The situation continued to worsen each drive and it would do it more often. This was unacceptable and they finally had a tech ride with me to experience it and immediately agreed there was an issue and reordered another transmission. The third transmission did not fix the issue and was experienced immediately. They are now guessing how to fix the issue telling me I have to replace the transfer case out of my pocket with no diagnosis, not sure what is causing it and have not fixed the problem. Videos would not fit in upload due to size. Videos show speedometer failure. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

We were driving 40 mph when all the sudden the rear tires locked up without warning. We almost got in an accident and thankfully were able to get off the road. Then, the check engine light came on and the truck went into limp mode and would not shift gears automatically and it was difficult to make it home. We had a mechanic come to our house to run a diagnostic and they informed us of the recall and confirmed it is what the truck was experiencing. We took it to the dealership and they confirmed the recall and that there was no available fix and nothing they could do for us. Meanwhile, ours is not safe to drive.
1. Coolant control valve failure 3 times within 125,00 miles causing the engine to run hot without overheating indication, losing heater and defrosting capabilities unable to operate safely with windshield freezing, 2. In addition this also caused the engine to run hot enough to burn manifold gasket and cracking manifold creating carbon monoxide to enter through cab vents. $4500 repair cost-that in order to operate safely. 3. Finally on star safety features not available due to module battery dead only after 2 years gps, emergency call and everything else included in this safety feature unavailable $1,000 cost manufacturer or dealer will not recognize any of these due to warranties and expiration.
I was driving south on interstate 15 freeway I was on the 3 lane in the middle of the road I was driving around 65-70 mph when my 1500 silverado 2016 loose engine power and started to slow down I couldn’t get out fast enough and I almost got hit by three cars because I was driving so slow I pulled over emergency lines and the truck didn’t even start.
With only 70,000 miles on the truck it started to have a hard shudder and wheels locking up. During the wheel shudder it would shift hard as well. We took it to a shop and they said it was our transmission control module and that the transmission had metal shavings and would fail soon. They also said doing any service to these transmissions can cause failure. We were informed that the dealership is aware these transmissions are all failing. The cost to replace is over $6,500. The dealership should have to do an official recall for this. After some research I found that the dealership has acknowledged the issue by replacing the tcm and uploading new software to put the transmission into a fail safe instead of putting in a new transmission. The issues that the failure causes has made thousands of people have to get new transmissions before the service is even due. A quick search on google states that 461,000 vehicles were effected and that a recall has been issued, but it has not been officially issued. We need a new transmission and should not have to pay for it on a truck that is so new and serviced timely.
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the vehicle unintended accelerated. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 16,000.
Component/system that failed: the transmission control module in my 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has malfunctioned. The vehicle has issues with slipping between gears, rough shifting, and hesitation when accelerating. This component has already been inspected and diagnosed by a certified Chevrolet dealership, and the part is currently on backorder. The vehicle is available for further inspection upon request. Safety risk: this issue poses a serious safety risk to myself and others. The gear slipping and delayed response when driving—especially when merging onto highways or changing lanes—creates unpredictable behavior that can lead to an accident. The truck sometimes fails to engage gears properly, which makes it dangerous in traffic situations. Diagnosis confirmation: yes, the problem has been confirmed by a chevy dealership service advisor (jose diaz), who provided a formal quote and diagnosis for the replacement of the transmission control module. Inspection by others: the vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives, but Chevrolet customer assistance is currently reviewing the case, and I was advised to submit this documentation. Warning lamps or symptoms: there were no warning lamps initially, symptoms include slipping gears, hesitation when pressing the gas pedal, jerky shifting, and difficulty accelerating smoothly. These symptoms have progressively worsened over time. Additional context: I have learned that many 2020 Chevrolet silverado trucks have been recalled for the exact same issue, but my VIN is currently not included. I believe this is a manufacturing defect and that my vehicle should be considered for inclusion in the recall or further investigation.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that upon shifting into drive, the vehicle unexpectedly lurched forward. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 131,000.

No check engine light come on until continued driving over 15-20 miles. Transmission slams into second gear when taking off or when stopping it may or may not downshift into first causing safety issues when in traffic. Possible electrical error or clutch inside transmission. On this model it is a sealed transmission so no way of identifying if metal shavings come out with a transmission flush. The issue only happens when vehicle is at temperature, if under and still cool drives perfect but as soon as it hits the temperature of 210 it slams very ugly.
While driving 55+mph on a parkway the service parking brake, check engine light and the traction control light came on with a warning "engine power reduced" which was dangerous because I could not accelerate and there was not a spot to pull over. This is frustrating due to the fact that I was having this same issue 6 months ago and Chevrolet said it was a wiring issue and it wasn't covered by the warranty because it had 42k miles. Chevrolet said it was a known issue but it was not at the level of a recall and it cost $1800 to fix.
Fuel regulator- high/low pressure failed. Yes the vehicle is available for inspection (currently at rotolo Chevrolet). My safety and others were compromised because was on freeway approximately 75 mph and my power and speed was unexpectedly reduced. Almost caused pile up, I had to take evasive measures to guide truck to slow lane, and off the road. Yes, the problem has been confirmed [xxx] by certified Chevrolet technicians at rotolo Chevrolet-fontana California. Yes the part/vehicle has been inspected by certified Chevrolet technician. A few odd hard engine starts(June/July figured a "cold" start). 2 weeks prior([xxx]) to the on road incident, the check engine light came on while driving, stopped vehicle to refuel- when the truck was restarted the check light was no longer illuminated. Scheduled ASAP service appointment 8/16/24 with Chevrolet, they couldn't take it sooner than 8/19/24 being that my truck is still under power train warranty. Unfortunately they say a faulty fuel regulator is not covered. Document is initial service request order, I was called by technician stating the specific (fuel regulator) issue and that my repair cost would be over $1,030. 00. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
My vehicle radio goes crazy, but oddly the speedometer goes away as well. I was able to get it back by turning radio off completely, but this should be a recall issue. Please help.

We went to an appointment and when we got back in the car, a message was on the screen. It said that the brake system has failed and we could only drive 43 mph maximum! the engine light was on and we could not accelerate beyond 43 mph. This is extremely dangerous when driving on a highway! we drove home on the interstate going 43 mph in a 70 mph zone! we had small children in the car and almost got into a few accidents due to other aggressive drivers. We then called local dealers who said that they were too busy to take our truck for weeks! they also said that our truck was not covered under warranty. So we took it to a local body shop. They fixed it for just above $500. It worked for a week and broke again, then they fixed it again for free. The brake failure 43 mph light came on for the 3rd time. We took it garber and they fixed it after 2 weeks and charged us a fortune. Invoice attached. A few weeks later the same light came back on. Garber then took another 2 weeks to fix it! I’m writing here as I’ve seen other silverados recalled for the same issue but not my exact truck (year). It’s obviously faulty software and it should not be the customers responsibility to fix. Especially with a vehicle under 20k miles! there is absolutely no way that we will ever buy a gm again but the important part here is that other people are not put into a dangerous situation like we were. Besides dealing with this issue for well over a month - the important part is safety. I can’t understand how these trucks have the same problems but only certain vins qualify for a recall. Please consider our truck as part of the overall recall for this issue. It’s unethical to pick and choose only certain vins!.
The cluster that makes my dash gauges visible has failed and malfunctioning. The safety concern is that I cannot see my speed, my tire pressure, mileage, and I will not be able to see if there are other issues wrong with my vehicle since the entire dash gauges are not visible. The system is not resetting while driving and I lose power when it does that. I have to guess when to put gas or put the risk of myself and other drivers of my vehicle stalling out in the middle of a highway. The issue has been inspected by a dealer during an oil change and they even left a note for me that they were unable to reset my oil mileage because the system is not working. The dealership performed a system test and performed an update and they confirmed that did not fix the cluster issue. There were no warnings before this happened.
While driving brakes failed and codes came on saying brake system failure 43 mph, this problem apparently is a programming issue that will cost over 600 dollars because “reprogramming” isn’t covered. Brake pads were over 50% life and it is a very dangerous error.
I was driving on [xxx] where the speed limit varies from 65-75 mph. I hit 70mph and randomly the truck jolted and dropped down to 40mph without warning. Cars swerved to avoid hitting me and I was shaken. I called the dealership who said there are no recalls and nothing to worry about, but call if it happens again. Two days later I was driving up to PA from TN. 7 hours away from home and also on [xxx] and the truck did it again 3 times in a row. The truck was bouncing all over the highway and people trying their best to avoid me. I managed to get off but did hit and go over something when I was getting off the highway. I took the back streets and found a dealer. The transmission needs to be replaced the think, on a 2 year old truck with 50k miles. Apparently factory caused electrical issues. This truck has been an electrical nightmare since we purchased it. They need to issue a recall with all the transmission and engine issues that chevy is experiencing. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Stalling with no power transmission is putting me at risk since I first purchased this vehicle. Transmission needs to be replaced because of the defective drive shaft on all 2017 models . Really serious problem with a hard shift and multiple misfire. Just not sure what to do at this point. I’m still paying for a truck that’s not working.
Vehicle shuts off while driving in traffic at low and high speeds stabilitrak service light comes on and the vehicle dash goes dark radio and temp control panel go dark/ black.
