1 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 10/04/2025

I was driving down the road and I heard a clunk. I lost all power and coasted into a farmers field. The dash board said lost power, nothing else. I had no warning. Oil pressure was where it should be until is quit. Keller Chevrolet contacted us and told us the engine blew. The connecting rod broke and the piston come apart. I had service done on my truck 4 days prior. I always service my vehicle every 3,000 miles or 3 months which ever comes first. I have about 121,000 miles on my 2001 pickup. It has always been serviced at either bob schmidt Chevrolet or keller Chevrolet. We are in the process of getting a new engine from gm and having it installed at keller Chevrolet. You can contact them for more information.

2 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 05/05/2011

While driving the engine died. It took several attempts to restart. While driving, the engine died two or three more times. Restarted and ran trouble free for a few days. A week or two later it took several attempts to start the engine. It finally started and ran trouble free for a week or so. This cycle has repeated over the past month or so. I looked up the issue on your web sight and noted a recall for this very problem. I contacted the local dealer and was told there were no recalls for my vehicle. I contacted gm and was told the same thing.

3 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2008

2001 silverado hd 8. 1l engine 51,009 miles. Experiencing issues associated with NHTSA id # 07v521000. I have had it checked and the scanner shows a crankshaft position sensor failure. I took it to the dealer and was told that they will not fix it due to my VIN number being outside the recalled groups. Even though it is in the date range of the effected units. I did some research and found that my truck has the same exact part number of the item that is failing. This has caused me to almost be rear ended 3 times and several other times where it quits at highway speed or in an intersection and I loose good steering and braking control. The last time (last Saturday) left me and my 2 children (4 and 7) walking in a snow storm with poor visibility and risking freezing temps and almost getting hit by other traffic. It will usually start again but then runs rough but sometimes I have to let it sit for an hour before it will start. Vic canever Chevrolet in fenton mi is the dealer that said that they will not honor the recall due to VIN number not in their system as a recalled unit and the gm customer service hotline would not assist me either.

4 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/12/2007

Truck died at 60 mph. Lost all power for few seconds then started again. Then would not start for 2 weeks. Finally got it to start and put on scanner it said to replace crankshaft position sensor. Replaced it myself and truck running great. Mc.
