17,200 miles and the steering has 3-4 inches of slop in it before the truck begins to turn. It is extremely hard and dangerous to drive. Wants to leave its lane constantly. Mechanic found the lash nut to be backed halfway off, the gear box is leaking fluid, the power steering pump is leaking fluid, and the hoses are leaking as well. 3 year warranty ended a little over a month ago, so gm sr. Advisor said that they would not cover anything, even though it is well under the mileage portion of the warranty parameters. The customer relations manager at the local dealership refused to call me per the request of the gm case manager, and he passed my case to one of his service advisers, so no help from my dealership at all. There are 7 TSB's for this issue #pit5501c->f & 18-na-280. The gm service bulletin specifically says "all VIN #'s for 2016 2500hd" "all engines" & "all transmissions", yet sr. Advisors at gm customer care say nothing is attached to my account, and my truck has not been into a gm dealership in a year, so they will not cover anything. Hello, 3 years old and 17,000 miles, that's an average of 5,666 miles per year which is not even enough miles for gm's recommended oil change period. Recall these defective steering gear boxes before someone gets severely injured or even killed! I have pictures I can submit if needed.

Power steering is hard to turn and also takes longer to stop the vehicle, hydro boost is leaking at the base causing the vehicle to turn hard and sloppy stopping, dealership says no warranty for it and it should be okay as long as you keep fluid filled, that comment sounds dangerous and unsafe from the dealership, it continues to leak power steering fluid.

Tl the contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that there was an internal power steering fluid leak and the steering wheel was difficult to maneuver. There was no warning indicator illuminated for the electronic power steering. The dealer (gross motors, 404 e. Division street, neillsville, WI 54456, 715-743-3207) was unable to diagnose the failure. There was no recall for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 15,000.
'steering extremely loose; steering box leaking fluid. Steering worsens at higher speeds, hard to keep straight on road due to excessive play in steering wheel.
Hydroboost leaking power steering fluid affecting steering and braking performance. Dipstick for measuring p/s fluid level was dry, and fluid stains all over the firewall and master cylinder resulting from the p/s fluid leaking.

I am experiencing issues of serious rot and rust with components of my truck. First failure was that my power steering pump reservoir rotted through and caused a leak of fluid, had to replace unit. Then transmission line rotted through, causing a leak of fluids, had to replace lines and cooler due to corrosion. Then starter failed, seriously corroded. Had to replace. Afterward, alternator froze up, inside was corroded with rust and would not spin freely, had to replace. Most recently, brake lines burst causing complete loss of braking ability. Will need to replace. I have owned a substantial number of vehicles over the years and this is completely unusual in my experience and has caused a situation that could lead to death or serious injury. I was fortunate to escape both. Furthermore, it has been a serious financial burden and inconvenience to have to replace so many components on a truck that has yet to reach 60,000 miles. I bought this truck new and have taken very good care of it in hopes that my 30,000 investment would last me a good number of years with regular and expected maintenance.
