All factory hard brake lines have failed due to corrosion. I've replaced the intermediate line between the master cylinder and distribution block with stainless steel 1. 5 yrs ago. I just replaced the rear brake lines along the axel. Now the front brake lines have failed. In all cases the lines failed while driving and emptied the master cylinder. I do not live in the salt belt.

Sitting at a traffic light, and the brake pedal went to the floor, allowing the truck to roll into the intersection. The only way I stopped it was shift the transmission into neutral. I nursed the truck back home and found all of the brake lines are corroded with one blown out. The master cylinder was almost empty in one chamber. The other chamber was totally empty. Truck has only 28,000 miles.

Driving home from a camping trip pulling 30ft 5th wheel , pushed on brake pedal to slow down & pedal went almost to the floor , pulled over & found brake line leaking under master cylinder on top of frame rail , repaired line to get home , upon inspection of brake lines, they are very weak, since then ive had to fix 2 more brake lines, luckily not pulling anything ,I have friends with these same trucks & inspected theres & also look the same,1 friend took his to dealership & they told him that this is normal? I feel they did not use the correct kind of metal when producing these vehicles brake lines . I work in the service field & have never seen brake lines rot the way these trucks do , these trucks are bought for pulling & a lot of them on the road, so I was hoping you could look into this matter for safety reasons. Thank you.

Brakes failed. China made steel brake lines rusted out and disintegrated. Could have been killed. Had to get repair to steel brake lines from abs pump to master cylinder and front calipers. Also make up and replace steel brake line to rear axle and to rear left and right rear calipers. Also had to replace bleed screws in all calipers.
