1 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2017 Chevrolet Spark

Failure Date: 12/17/2017

The engine loses 1% of its oil every 20 driven miles. Gm knows about this excessive oil consumption and refuses to resolve the cause. I bought this as a new car, with 2059 miles on it. Right now my oil gauge reads 96%, or a 4 % oil loss, after 80 driven miles. I am deathly afraid to take this car out on a interstate highway with high speed traffic because this will really stress the engine. The 1st 80 driven miles was on city streets in orlando, fla. What I don't understand is that NHTSA has known about this gm engine problem since 2014, so why hasn't something been done to get gm to put safe, reliable engines in their cars? their opel cars have excellent reputation for engines which do not lose oil between oil changes. I also am aware the daewoo block has been re-worked and gm wants to get its investment back, using ultra cheap korean labor, where the engine is made. What I don't know, and can't find out is if these engines have a small turbo to boost power, which in turn would be a reason for a small increase oil consumption, butt, definitely not as drastic as the 1% every 20 driven miles I am currently experiencing. I expect auto nation Chevrolet in orlando to demand that gm send them a 2018 made engine to install in my car to see if the oil consumption issue has been resolved. What I demand is a total recall of these Spark engines and replace them with new reliable engines which other gm subsidiaries like opel make. How many people have to die in an accident before this unsafe engine is replaced,.

2 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Spark

Failure Date: 12/29/2015

Not even 10,000 miles in I had a tire gets a bubble on the sidewall. The dealership would not cover it or swap it out saying it could have been due to hitting a pothole or curb. 15,000 miles in driving down the highway and hear a loud bang and the ac doesn't work. I take it in and the dealership says I could have hit road debris and would not cover any work on the ac, I would have to pay out of pocket. About a week later I get a letter in the mail about the ac recall and find out my compressor exploded on the inside due to faulty parts. 20,000 miles in and the car was eating a quart of oil every 2-3 days and still draining it and ran rough. The dealership said they have no idea what it is and they would not help in what they called "looking for problems that can't be reproduced". Then not even a month later I get a letter about the recall and how I need to bring it in as quick as I can because some people 'may' be experiencing excess oil consumption, due to faulty parts. 40,000 miles in I'm getting the tcs light on with the cel flashing at me and the car stutters and looses power all while on the highway. Gives the code of p0324 (knock control system error). Dealership says it could be due to being driven rough and it is my fault. I shouldn't be driving 80 in a chevy Spark (the highway speeds in texas). The engine has a loud lifter tick in the heads. Dealership refuses to open them without a fault code that indicates a head issue. 47,000 miles in I have more misfires and error codes. Taking it back to the dealership to see what their excuse is this time.

3 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Spark

Failure Date: 08/08/2014

Reported several problems with the chevy Spark with purchased in Aug 2013, no starts, auto shut offs, rpm spikes and "now" oil burning, beginning October 2013 directly to gm company at 855-238-0780, 866-790-5600 and chevy headquarters and several chevy service centers: onstar subscriber services acct# account number: 139-256-583 at 1. 888. 4. Onstar activated August 2013 began sending vehicle diagnostic in sept 2013 with an vehicle problem alert for the transmission/engine systems, I addressed this with several chevy dealers and was told at one point that it was a possible reporting error by onstar since the chevy service center could not locate or duplicate the problem. The issues with the Spark further deteriorated into burning oil and leaking oil problems, of course it was taken to the chevy dealers in both enterprise and [xxx], [xxx] in indianapolis indiana and nothing significant was supposedly found although when checking the oil stick we continue to find no oil or low oil levels in the car, we then have to repeatedly put replacement oil in the car. Today, Friday August 8, 2014 while driving the vehicle on the highway the car's engine light came on again, the owner [xxx] attempted to steer the car off the highway but was hit from behind, the airbag did not deploy, fortunately no one was killed this time. We are not certain of the injuries but the owner, [xxx] has complained of backache and headache, symptoms of a possible concussion. We hate this car!!! it is a lemon and may eventually kill someone. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
