Takata recall it has been 18 months since I first received notification that the airbags in my vehicle, designed to keep me safe, may be defective to the point of causing serious injury or death. There is still, 18 months later, no solution to this issue. This is a serious breech of safety amounts to negligence. Takata has since filed bankruptcy. Chevrolet/gm has not fulfilled their obligation to provide a vehicle that does not pose undue and increased risk or danger.
Takata air bag recall with no remedy for a fix and a vehicle that is unsafe to drive with all dealers not wanting to take on trade.

All of a sudden, while driving down a smooth road, heard a large pop sound from dashboard. Plastic dashboard cracked above instrument panel. Crack is now growing larger.
Dash is cracked in 6 different spots; 3 of the cracks being around the passenger air bag. If the airbag were to deploy, the dash would shatter thus causing sharp projectiles to be dispensed in the vehicle cabin potentially causing serious injury to the occupants. The cracks start down where the bolts connect to the body (they extend further down than what can be seen in the photos).
Dash is cracked by passenger airbag and it will not allow the cover to attach properly. Sharp plastic edge may cut airbag when deployed making it useless. Also, there is a recall on the airbag and gm is stating that no parts are available and they won't be for a while.
The dashboard is cracking in several spots. The main concern is that it is cracking at the corner of the airbag deployment area. If the airbag were to deploy it could be punctured or cut during deployment due to this cracked dashboard.
Dashboard cracked in two places. One above instrument cluster, one by passenger airbag. Dashboard rattles due to crack. Airbag function may be adversely affected. There was no incident that lead to the cracks, other than outdoor temperature fluctuations.
The dashboard has three severe long cracks that run into where the airbag would deploy and one that runs vertically straight up to the steering wheel. This is clearly a defect. The edges are very sharp. A piece has cracked and fell into the a/c vent. I am very concerned the dash could cut the airbag as it passes by the sharp edges or sharp edges could severely cut driver or passenger as airbag pushed broken dash into passenger or driver. This needs to be addressed.
Cracked dash board. Next to airbag and above instrument cluster. Concerned for proper function of airbag as well as the instrument cluster. It started to crack several years ago and continues to get worse every year.
Driver's side dashboard crack over instrument cluster. No accident, original owner, crack just occurred and pieces have fallen into instrument panel. Crack is running vertical from seam in front of driver's windshield up to driver's instrument panel area where steering wheel is located.
Two large cracks appeared in my dash recently - no accident, no special cleaning solution, nothing. One crack is over the control console near the driver side and the other is around the passenger airbag. My concern is that the crack surrounding the passenger airbag could possibly hinder the airbag from working properly or could possibly eject shards of hard plastic into my passengers if the airbag did deploy. Gm should recall and replace all these dashes to prevent injury/death!.
My dash on my Suburban is cracked around the passenger airbag. I feel this issue is a safety hazard if the airbag comes out it may throw plastic pieces everywhere.
Crack dashboard in the airbag corner, two days after one more in the middle the steering wheel.
My Suburban has had a cracked dashboard that has grown into many cease cracks. I am afraid the airbag will not d ploy correctly in a collision. Please help!.
I am having a big issue with cracks on my dash board- I have a 2010 Suburban and the cracks started in 2013 and have now grown in size to where a portion of my dash has caved in above the instrument cluster as well as a crack now reaching to the passenger air bag. I have read of other people having the same cracking issue in the same locations on the dash. Is there a fix for this? I'm concerned of issues if there is a collision or the air bag deploys.
A crack appeared in the dash on the corner of the airbag! two months later another crack appeared over the instrument panel. Currently the entire center portion of the dash is sinking. Our fear is this will cause an airbag malfunction or if the airbag does deploy, the entire center portion of the dash will be thrown into our face. I contacted gm and they agreed to pay 60% to have a new dash put in.
The dashboard has severe long cracks that run into where the airbag would deploy. This is clearly a defect and 1000's have reported same issue. The edges are very sharp. The vehicle is <4 years old and gm will not replace. Concern is the dash could cut the airbag as it passes by the sharp edges or sharp edges could severely cut driver or passenger as airbag pushed broken dash into passenger or driver.
