After a day of using the vehicle in rainy conditions I tried to start it up and it would crank but not start and brake lights wouldn't not work when pressed with the key off the truck was stationary and had error codes and cel for fpfcm circuit failure. This issue was a recall for my make and model but my VIN was excluded possibly negligently. Since the event I additionally have dic messages to check the air bags and check brakes.

Faults or shorts in the electrical harnesses have caused premature failure of headlamps and brake lights. Taking the vehicle to the dealership and the auto parts store they confirm that many people come in with this similar failure. Known issue with supplier quality on gm forums suggest that this has been an ongoing issue since model launch. We have replaced all lights and fuses chasing the harness and not still have the dealership stating that the entire electrical harness system needs replaced.

The high center (3rd) brake light on my 20003 chevy Suburban has gone out for the third time. I see many many similar vehicles with their high-center (3rd) brake lights out. There has to be some electrical system glitch to cause the failure. Gm recently announced a recall to replace the entire dash board because of electrical problems. The problems may be related
this is a safety issue as the high-center brake light serves an important function and at $120 plus labor to replace is can get expensive.
