2 Headlights problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 10/02/2019

Purchased a 2015 Suburban new from jim ellis Chevrolet. At about year 3 of ownership, just after warranty expiration, I noticed moisture in drivers side headlight assembly. About a year later the blinker stopped working. The only way to repair it is to install an entire new assembly. The part is $1,200 alone. The is not a warranty issue, but a defect that chevy will not address or admit. It is also a major safety issue. Additionally, the paint on the hood and roof started failing at about year 4. Again, another defect. Chevrolet will not address either of them. One is a safety issue, the other cosmetic. Very frustrated.

: the contact stated the right exterior housing material of the headlight was filled with rain water and debris. The moisture caused the halogen bulb to blow out which exposed the electrodes and shorted out the lighting circuit. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where they were unable to determine how the rain water filled the housing. There were no visible cracks. The dealer replaced the entire right front headlight assembly, including new housing material.

10 Headlights problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 11/18/2002

I have a new 2002 chevy Suburban that I bought in Nov, 2002. I have driven it approx 3000 miles. The headlights go out while driving. Luckily , I haven't wrecked yet or killed anyone but nobody will ride with me now. I'd like this to be taken care of by me getting another vehicle in the same style and model. It has been in the garage , this time for 9 days and they still got it. I need a vehicle ! I was hoping for this much money it would last longer than this.

11 Headlights problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 11/01/2002

I recently purchased a 2002 Suburban z71. While driving at night, I pushed the dome override switch a few times and my headlights went out. Lucky I wasn't traveling around a curve and was able to bring the vehicle to stop without completely running of the road. (I was traveling 50 mph on a country road) I then read my owners manual and learned that the automatic headlight system will shut off the headlights if the dome switch in pushed (in-out-in-out) regardless if the vehicle is in motion or stopped. I believe the headlight override feature should only work while the vehicle is in park. Permitting the automatic headlight over ride feature to shut off your headlights while the vehicle is moving will cause accidents. I had a near miss the headlights should never be permitted to shut off by a switch labeled "dome override" while the vehicle is in motion & it is dark out. Dt.

17 Headlights problem of the 1999 Chevrolet Suburban

We have a ongoing problem with the headlights dimming or flickering at night. We have had it into the dealer for repairs 3 time for this problem. They have been unable to verify the problem, due to the fact that they are checking it in the daytime, but did report to us upon pickup of the vehicle on last visit, that they have 3-4 other surburbans in their dealership with the same reported problem. Gm is aware of the problem, but as of yet has not located the problem or have a solution for repair. This is a serious safty issue when driving at night, other may think that you are flashing you lights at them or have an emergancy, or the light may have total failure in the future. Obvously, a serious electrical problem. No cause or cure as of yet. Another electrical problem that we are experiencing is that on 3 seperate occasions the radio has remained on after the vehicle has been turned off and key removed. (2 or more hours each occasion) only temporary turn off was when operating the window button, but radio came back on as soon as window button was released. Occasional problem, very annoying, perhaps connected to headlight electrical problem or not? very conserned that there may be a serious electrical problem!.
