1 Front Seat Heater/cooler problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 05/15/2014

While driving the driver side heated seats ingauge by themselves and come on every time we use the vehicle. We have tried turning them back off, but they come right back on and will cycle up and down a few times then stay in the high position. I thought at first that my husband was accidentally turning them on but he wasn't. It does it all the time. There is no ryhme or reason to it. Its very distracting trying to turn them off over & over again. I could see where it could be a safety issue. I research end on the internet and have seen hundreds of post on the same issue. None of them helped with a souloutin to the problem. I put my VIN # in to see if their were any recalls on this issue. And couldn't find one. My question is why? with as many complaints as there are online. Not sure if they were not complaining here about it but now at least I have. It doesn't matter whose driving it, wheater isn't a factor either. In town or highway makes no difference help please.

3 Front Seat Heater/cooler problem of the 2004 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 06/15/2008

This problem concerns a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban. The seat heater switch, located above the driver's door armrest, turns itself on when the car is operating. The heated seat becomes extraordinarily hot rapidly and it is difficult to turn off - every bump and jar in the road turns the light and the seat back on. The light's location which indicates the operation of the heated seats is difficult to see as well - especially when the sun is strong & I'm wearing sunglasses. Looking down and away from the road and traffic is fairly dangerous. This distraction could easily evolve into an accident as the driver is constantly trying to turn the heated seat off. I have had this item "repaired" once, yet the problem continues. The most memorable moment was trying to drive in a torrential rainstorm on the interstate. I pulled over for safety before I tried to turn off the light. The minute I pulled back onto the interstate, the heated seat turned itself back on and stayed on for the next 250 miles. I know I am not the only person with a 2004 Suburban that suffers from this problem. We have taken the fuse out of the car that controls the heated seats, but that also affects the ability to readjust the seat position for the individual drivers. The heated seat distraction combined with the location of the switch are definitely a safety issue and should be repaired.

6 Front Seat Heater/cooler problem of the 1999 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 03/11/2003

This is the third time I have replaced the brake pads and this time I had to replace the right front rotor due to warping. The brakes on this vehicle are grossly undersized and Chevrolet knows this. That is why the brakes on the new 2003 Suburban are larger even though the vehicle is several hundred pounds lighter than this model. I had intended to keep this car for at least 6 or 7 years but must now give it up because I am worried the brakes will fail all together. Also, the seat heaters on both front seats quit working after the first year and wouldn't be replaced by the dealer.

7 Front Seat Heater/cooler problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Suburban

Rear seat has no heating facility eventhough it was designed with the controls. Dealership indicated no corrective solution for problem from manufacturer.
