3rd row seat headrest will not stay up. This is a problem with 2021 and some 2022 Suburbans dealer is charging me to replace it. This is a safety issue that should be apart of the original recall # n2022316750.

2 Seats problem of the 2021 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 07/04/2024

Seat, mirror, steering column pre-set driver adjustments do not come into proper driving configuration on a regular basis when starting vehicle. This is a dangerous situation when a malfunction does occur. Seat has tendency to squeeze driver torso into steering column and knees into dash. Lh mirror inadvertently and unexpectedly tilts down toward the ground and ofter unnoticed. This makes for a dangerous condition where the driver assumes that there is no oncoming rear traffic and it's safe to pull away from a curb from a stopped position. This condition has occurred for over a year and while the vehicle was covered under factory warranty. Numerous trips to bonner Chevrolet in kingston service department for remedy have yielded nothing. Bonner Chevrolet walked away from this serious issue and told us there's nothing more they can do and said, sorry. In contact with Chevrolet through chat messaging, the recommend other surrounding dealers. None are interested at this point. The chat messaging is as useless as bonner Chevrolet. Meanwhile I'm driving and paying for a useless and dangerous vehicle which no one knows how to repair. This has been an ongoing event since June, 2023.

6 Seats problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 06/01/2022

Started with driver side heated seat randomly turning on and off. Going from high, medium, low. No way to turn it off just comes back on. Can hear clicking coming from under dash. Lift gate wiring that goes into body, ground wire burnt. (replaced) but ground wire has power. (wiring issue) so rear wiper doesn’t work. “reading” lamps only work when door is open. After replacing life gate connector, says lift gate open. Started the repair, which leads to more wiring issues! needs a recall! unsafe.

8 Seats problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 04/30/2022

We were driving down auburn way and the power seat control module failed and keeps the heated seats running out of control. ( fire is likely and could burn your house down if you park in the garage. ) I was lucky to be near a dealership I had to pull over quick it was burning my butt and back the problem is complicated by the fact that the seat safety airbag control wiring goes through the same plug, which should be a big no no. There are no replacement control modules available ( not being made). I had the chevy dealership disconnect the plug so the fire hazard is gone but now none of the air bags work now putting my family at further risk. Air bag wiring needs to be separate from all the other wires and plugs for safety. Now the next problem is the dealerships can't fix the problem because no parts are available. You are welcome to come check out my Suburban.

9 Seats problem of the 2022 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 01/31/2022

This is the second Chevrolet Suburban we have owned. In both cars, the middle seat of the 2nd and 3rd row bench seats are missing a head rest. This could result in a severe neck injury to the passenger in a car accident. How is Chevrolet allowed to roll out these cars from the factory with this obvious safety defect?.

10 Seats problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 01/10/2021

Both driver and passenger heated elements no longer are functional. Temperature doesn't get warm on the passenger side, and driver side doesn't work at all. Purchased the vehicle this way, and mechanics said gm made the low temp mandatory, tried to explain, not working at all. The insisted it was a gm manufacturing issue.

12 Seats problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 01/24/2019

I have just over 84000 miles on my Suburban. I have had to replace the a/c condenser due to failure in a weld and now have to replace all four struts as they have now failed. I also have part of the heated seats not working as well as sensors that need to be "updated" all the time. I find it ridiculous that Chevrolet will not stand behind its product, especially when so many people are having issues with the same parts of the vehicle.

13 Seats problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 11/07/2017

Would get intermittent air bag warning light. Took it to one dealership and found no codes. Later I figured out it would only be on with a passenger in the seat and took it to another dealership where it was found to be the passenger presence module. With the light on the airbag will not deploy. Filed the complaint with gm warranty department as the truck is a 2014 model and only 54,000 miles, gm will not warranty or pay for the fix. Had to pay out of pocket to correct this safety feature.

I use my seat warmer most of he time however when driving about 6 hours I suffered burns/blisters to both sides of my butt. The seat didn't catch fire or melt , neither did my shorts. I did not seek medical attention I am caring for the burns at home I would like this investigated.

18 Seats problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 07/16/2015

We have multiple problems with our new Suburban. After traveling slowly or coasting in traffic, when I try to accelerate the vehicle won't go and when it finally decides to go it shudders and vibrates badly, it also does this from a complete stop, been to the dealer 2 times so far this and the last time they told me "it is a normal characteristic of vehicle". It is a very bad one and it will cause a wreck! the radio display flickers all the time even when back up camara is on, gm has no fix for this yet either! the vehicle sticker says it has heated/ac seats, it doesn't have a/c seats, they are airrated from the air in vehicle, that was a total misrepresentation of the product on the sales sticker. Gm rep had us test drive another Suburban and we drove 3 different ones and not one of the others did the things our does. When we informed gm of this they said sorry we don't qualify for a buyback/replacement. Gm doesn't care to help and its their very expensive product. I hope no one dies or is injured from the hesitations that gm know these vehicles have that is 0. 7 seconds before the vehicle will engage or reengage when excelerating from a slow roll or a complete stop.

19 Seats problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 12/12/2014

The second road bench, I was put it down to lock the seat and I hear a big crack and the all side of vinyl broke in half. The passenger seat the back part fall. Att. Gm retired employer.

20 Seats problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 11/19/2014

While making turns at various speeds, the seat began to wiggle and vibrate. Found that the driver's seat bracket was broken. Replaced under warranty and within a few months, the passenger seat frame was broken as well. Within another few months, the driver's seat frame was broken once again and was replaced today. Gm needs to figure out the issue as we are tired of having work done on a brand new vehicle that is very expensive. We have also had the issue with the water coming through the roof at the seat belt locations.

21 Seats problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 11/12/2014

When driving over a pothole or small bump, the suspension seems to let go and the car jumps very abnormally. We only had 30k miles and I believe this is a suspension problem. The shocks make a lot of noise when we go towards a pothole. We went to the dealership to complain about the shocks and they said there was no problem with the shocks. Soon after, I had to change the front left shock because the service department said it was leaking. They did not notice this in the beginning and suddenly made me pay $650 to change the front left shock. Recently, I had to go change my right shocks and pay for that too, another $700 dollar service. It is unacceptable to have both of my front shocks changed within 1 and 1/2 year. I am not the only one who has been having these problems, several of my friends have also had this problem with this model. We have all sent forward a complaint for the noise and suspension problems. I believe it can be unsafe in the future if it is not taken care of. The steering wheel makes a lot of clinking noise when turning. We went to the dealership and had to replace the steering wheel column within a mere 20k miles. The dealership did not see any problem with the shocks or steering wheel. We currently still hear a clinking noise, as if something is broken on the inside. My warranty is over now and this needs to be fixed. This should not be a problem for a car this new at all. It is unacceptable and I should not have to go to a dealership and waste time and money on it. The seat on the right hand side has cracked two times already. The frame was cracked and we had to have it replaced within the warranty two times now. This is ridiculous and the servicemen have also noticed and said they have seen this problem as well. My warranty is now over and I cannot go back for a third time to fix it if it happens.

22 Seats problem of the 2004 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 05/17/2013

1st complaint: after passing a vehicle on a highway (this required the Suburban to go into the passing gear), the Suburban's electrical system and engine automatically shut down right on the highway. I was forced to immediately pull over in order to avoid be hit by passing vehicle. After waiting approximately 5 minutes, the Suburban started up again. We started driving again but again once I tried to accelerate or pass another vehicle the Suburban would shut down again. Auto mechanic has not been able to identify what causes the vehicle to do this. Very frustrating and dangerous if this happens on a busy highway or freeway. 2nd complaint: cluster panel went haywire. Speedometer stopped working, oil gauge not reading properly etc. Eventually, the entire cluster panel shut down. Had to replace it at a cost of about $500. 3rd complaint: drivers seat functions and heating mechanisim malfunctioned. The drivers heated seat stopped working and the seat controls malfunctioned. The some of the drivers seat controls stopped working or are reversed. Example; when you push the lever to move the seat forward it goes backward and vis versa. The drivers side heated seat stopped working and it will cancel out the passengers side heated seat. Example; if the passenger side heated seat is selected, it works but once you select the drivers side heated seat it will cancel out the passenger side and the drivers side still doesn't work. Auto mechanic claimed the drivers side heated seat element was bad. Had it replaced at a cost of $300 but still did not solve the problem. The original heated seat element was not bad either.

24 Seats problem of the 2001 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 01/25/2013

I was on my way to work on 1/25/2013. Coming through an intersection I was struck on the drivers side by an 18 wheeler. I woke up in the hospital almost a month later. Pictures of my vehicle show that my airbags did not deploy. Good thing I had my seat belt on. Md say the bruising to heart other internal injuries would would have been prevented had airbags deployed.

I own a 2001 chevy Suburban 1500, the middle row bench seat is a 70/30 split. The bottom ( part you sit on) of the larger side (behind drivers seat to middle of vehicle) will not stay latched or "locked" into place. I contacted gm and they said that since my Suburban has more than 100,000 miles on it they are not responsible for any issues or defects. I was driving on the highway at 60mph with my daughter, when the second row seat (60/40) of my 2004 surburban became unlatched and the seat flew forward. After several attempts I was able to push the seat back to it's locked position. Luckily my daughter was wearing her seatbelt otherwise, she would've injured herself face first on rear of the passenger seat. I contacted Chevrolet, and was notified although this is a safety issue, this repair isn't covered under warranty.
