Vehicle barely 3 years old and the ac compressor is broken. Blowing hot air. Contacted gm and was initially told there was no recall on the ac system. After researching online and discovering the class action lawsuits and the astonishing number of complaints for 2015-2017 Chevrolet Tahoe's, we called back and were told our VIN was not covered. I find it very coincidental that the same make and model as our vehicle and same year have a defective ac system with the same defect as ours, but ours just happens to be not included. This is my 3rd and last Chevrolet Tahoe.
Suspension seized (became violently unstable when going over the slightest of bumps) first year, took car back to dealer three times until finally diagnosed and fixed, power lock on rear driver side door does not lock/unlock every time since first year purchased and at 40,000 ac stopped cooling. This vehicle has been trouble from the beginning!.
Seal around fin antenna leaks. Comes down by visor down side panel into driver seat. Vehicle was sitting still at the time. We had a rain event.
I own a 2015 chevy Tahoe lt 2wd. I noticed the ac was not blowing as cool as it normally does, then I started to notice a loud hissing noise in the cabin whenever the ac was turned on. Took the SUV to the dealership and was told the condenser had a pin hole leak and it couldn't be repaired, the whole condenser had to be replaced. I was quoted over 1k for the repair because of the difficulty in accessing the part in the engine bay. I was told the whole front bumper and the front side body panel had to be removed in order to replace the condenser. I looked the oem part up online and it had a price of $140-$210. The SUV just passed 50,000 miles, no accidents or other previous issues.
Wind buffering inside cabin at speeds between 30-45mph. This is accruing with all 4 windows up. Feels like a booming sensation this is causing major health issues, ear pressure, dizziness, nasusa.
My wife's 2015 Tahoe hydroplaned slid backwards into the median, hit a guard rail and rolled 3 times. All side curtain airbags deployed but not the front airbags. This was on 8/4/2017. Then 2 weeks later we received a recall letter for the sdm software which controls the frontal airbags and seatbelt pretensioners.
My a/c condenser went out on July 21, 2017 while I was driving it. My 2015 Tahoe ltz only has 21,000 miles on it. It's covered under warranty, but I've been given no estimate on the part delivery. Driving a courtesy vehicle, chevy malibu, for the foreseeable future. This should be a recall. I was told by gm that this is not a widespread issue. I've read otherwise.
There is a known problem with the a/c condenser in the Chevrolet Tahoe 2015. The ac will just stop working and blow hot air. They have had this problem with a leaking condenser for quite some time but have not issued a recall. The wait to get the part is 8-12 weeks which makes the cars unusable in the summer months. The cost for repair is $1200. They know this is a problem yet they continue to sell their used Tahoes with these faulty condensers. I believe is this is fraudulent. I am still waiting to get mine fixed. They redesigned the part to fix the problem but the backlog is so long and they are using them to manufacturer their new cars versus servicing their existing client base. If you google it, you will find crazy stories of people trying to get this problem fixed for months and dealing with no ac in states with high temperatures such as texas and nevada. I believe they use these in their 2015 silverados and 2015 suburbans. Calls to corporate chevy did nothing to help. He just told me he handles these calls all day long for ac issues. I would happily join a class action law suit to push them to do the right thing.
My a/c condenser stopped working on 07/03/2017. I took my truck in to the dealer where I leased the truck, auto nation of pembroke pines, FL. I was promised the part will be in 3-7 days, it is now 3 weeks, I have spoken to upper level management and I called the manufacture gm. I must say, customer service has been pissed poor. I never received a call from senior management at gm. I was told by my senior advisor at the dealer that the condenser was shipped but it is only available to law enforcement officers. This is a truck I only had for two years. I just found out the 2015 Tahoe is the worse model year with complaints. I am very disappointed with gm.
2015 chevy Tahoe ltz: condenser and compressor went out stopping any cool or cold air flow in middle of a June. Must order parts directly from GMC. Parts estimate $3,500+ labor estimate $780. What's wrong with this picture? it's a leased vehicle. Chevrolet won't cover. Same 2015 chevy Tahoe- at 111k, 4,5,and 6 gear failed. Transmission failed going up hill with my 2 year old in the vehicle! chevy only covered a portion leaving me a $2k bill in April 2017. June 2016- I had taken my Tahoe (leased) only to one dealership when needing any maintenance. My records show I started complaining about sunroof bellows at 20k miles and the appliqu's on both driver and passenger side doors. June @68k miles I had to replace sunroof, dvd player, bellows, and internal wiring. Also, drivers side strut. I spent over 2k on my Tahoe, only to notice the dvd player is not working. . . . Again.
Re:ac condenser. Im waiting now 5 weeks and still no part due to a national back order of this faulty condenser. Ac stopped working on a road trip with my kids and dog last month and I need to get home. It's unsafe to drive in 120 degree weather. The dealer told me a few weeks ago 50k people were waiting for a replacement. The specific part is faulty and gm needs to be held accountable.
Ac condenser has a hole in it. . . . Stopped blowing cool air when I went out to lunch. . No warning that anything was wrong. . . . . No condensers to be had by dealership and our regular mechanic can't get one either because gm is purchasing all of them as fast as they are put on the shelf. Back order problem and a nation wide known issue by gm. . . . . And we were told it was not a recall or a warranty covered item. Not cool. . . . . . We live in texas. . . . . 90 plus degress right now. Part can be welded but don't know if that fix will last. . . . This should have been a recall issue if a nation wide problem and known problem.
Stabilitrak comes on and locks the steering while driving. It has happened approx. 4 times and the dealership doesn't know why, nor have they resolved the problem. Water keeps getting in the vehicle and the dealership can't figure out where it's coming from either. They have tried 6 times.
A/c condenser. The a/c in my 2015 chevy Tahoe has gone out twice is the past two-and-a-half weeks. The first time they found that the freon was gone. They checked and could not locate any leaks. The recharged the system and replaced freon, adding dye to the system to identify future leaks. Two-and-a-half weeks later, my freon was completely gone again and the dye revealed that the leak was due to a faulty a/c condenser. The internet is full of thousands of complaints regarding this same issue on this same year, make and model of vehicle, but gm\Chevrolet refuses to issue a recall to rectify the problem. The part is on a nationwide backorder, and even my local chevy dealership cannot get the part. They can't even give me an estimate on when the part will be available. Others are reporting wait times in excess of 60 days to secure a replacement a/c condenser. I cannot drive my vehicle until my a/c functions, given the extreme high temperatures in my area. When so many people are having this problem that you can't even get a part to fix it, this seems like an issue widespread enough to justify a manufacturer recall. My dealer has looked for oem, after-market, used, and rebuilt a/c condensers nationwide, and can't locate a single one to repair my vehicle. Others online are reporting the same. Force chevy to issue a recall and fix this situation!.
I own a 2015 Tahoe and live in the pacific NW (ac used three months out the year, maybe). Eight months ago (end of last year warm season) the ac stopped working, of course it is out of warranty paid over $850 at local chevy dealer to put in new condenser. Go to use ac for first time this season and it stops working, same thing. Take it to same dealer and I am told that now the compressor is leaking at a tune of $960!! this is absolutely craziness, the ac is a new vehicle should not be going bad. No accidents or any reason this is happening. I bought chevy believing I was buying quality. I have kids in sports and drive a lot so it is important to be safe and comfortable. I am a single mom and I have never had trouble like this with a new car. Checking with three different dealers/automotive ac repair companies I was told by all three that this should not be occurring in my very new and expensive vehicle and that it is likely the condenser was not bad in the first place and was the compressor all along and once refilled with freon it worked for a bit but now leaked out again and I am asked to pay the labor all over again. Very very unhappy customer and feeling like chevy is not a good product, never any issues like this with Honda or Toyota I have owned- normal stuff and if accident or mechanical stuff, brakes, yes all that happens, but ac in a newer vehicle-2 xs in less than 1 year, no! #takenforaridebychevy #faultyproduct #chevydisspointing.
Ac went out in mid-may. Dealership states it's a condenser issue. National back order because so many have had same issues. Bad weld on part and oem is now out of business. Been waiting for almost 2 months for part to come in. Vehicle out of warranty, gm recognizes issue with part but will not issue recall. I drive a ton for work (in a suit) and have my 3 year old son riding at all other times. Gm will not offer courtesy vehicle and wants to stick me with $1200 bill. They know there's a problem and will do nothing about it.
A/c condenser failed on a 2 year old Chevrolet Tahoe. Part is on national backorder as so many people are having the issue. I was told 1-2 weeks for them to get the part but it has now been 2 months with no eta available. Heat index has now reached 105-110 multiple days in houston and is dangerous to drive the vehicle with no a/c in this condition. Chevrolet customer care has been contacted multiple times and will not provide rental car, compensation, or any solution to the issue and stated that I am not the only one with the problem.
Please see attachment.
A/c rear went out. $1100 to replace. Decided to disconnect rear a/c (cost $498) until a recall could be established and attend to common problem with 2015-2016 Tahoes. Chicago (nbc channel 5) news ran an investigatory news story on a nation-wide problem with a/c on gm 2015-2016 Tahoes. Gm was contacted and agreed to look into "complaint" no recall yet. . . . ?!.
The ac condenser has a leak and there is no option for a replacement condenser as they are on national backorder with no eta and could take up to 120 days to get a replacement part. So gm expects my family of 5 which includes 3 kids under the age of 8 to drive a vehicle for an entire summer in south carolina with no ac.
In start of summer 2015 at ac quit working put freon now in hot days it takes 15 to 20 min before it blows cold air.
Our Tahoes automatic liftgate stopped working. Took it to dealership and had it checked. Their records showed there had been a recall and that they had already repaired the strut. They did a diagnostic and said it wasn't the strut/ actuator . He said it was the module and that it needed replaced with an estimate of $750. We ordered the module and put it in and it didn't fix it. After replacing that the technician said it was the motor/lock not showing any power, so we ordered that and it didn't fix the problem either. Last we replaced the strut/actuator and it fixed the problem. The dealer won't admit any wrongdoing but we don't feel that a recalled problem should have cost us anything.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that the trailer hitch warning light was illuminated with an audible tone. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 73,988.
The sunroof exploded for no known reason. No impact of anything.
My Tahoe just started to have a vibration issues at speeds for 60 to 75mph the whole cabin shakes and also a wind noise coming from the roof at speeds at 80 mph or higher my milage is 21000 I get headaches when driving my chevy Tahoe.
Wind noise, cab buffeting.
I have had this vehicle since June 2015 and had the Tahoe with autonation chevy on several occassions. At one point it was there for almost 3 months. The front of the vehicle shakes at 77 mph on the highway. The entire front end shakes. They have changed the motor mounts, rear tires and they have aligned vehicle. They have found nothing. They offered to do a buy back but of course with a loss to me and I feel this is not my problem. I did not build the vehicle. Now after to speaking to the new service manager at my dealership they say there is an engineering defect. Please fix it is all I ask of chevy. Can you please help???.
My 4 wheel drive transfer case makes a high pitched noise when it is in 4auto and 4 high. Gm told me this is a characteristic of the tranfer case thats installed in my SUV. Not all transference make this noise, the Tahoe loaner car does not make this noise. My bothers 2015 silverado made the same noise in 4 auto and high.
Wind noise and buffeting in cab driving distraction.
Bad vibration at speeds between 60 to 75 mph ( gm dealer has had car 3 times and replaced tires, road forced balanced, checked alignment with no success ) ; wind noise and buffeting inside car with all windows in the up position at speeds from 35 mph and up causing dizziness and nausea on longer rides. Exterior door plastic fascia becomes loose and falls off due to metal clip breaking off at the attachment point.
Significant wind and pressure buffeting, noise and vibration at speeds above 35 mph. It is especially bad when a rear window is open or partially open.
There is a drone or buffering sound while driving between 40-55 mph. Regardless of the road quality. This is on a 2015 chev Tahoe ltz the dealer looked at it and said it was a tire out of balance, but it still makes the same sound.
