2 Engine Belts And Pulleys problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 06/01/2018

On may 31, 2018 I purchased a 2015 chevy Tahoe ltz with 30,000miles that had been traded in at a local Ford dealership. Within days of purchasing it, the car began having issues with a stabilitrak warning followed by other erratic computer warnings. In following weeks the car also began having complete power failure at low speeds while turning and continues to have these problems to date. The engine also began smoking in July, caused, as it turns out, by a jammed belt on the air conditioner compressor. This vehicle has had many power failures in parking lots, on streets, the highway tunnel in boston and most recently on labor day weekend when the car stalled in charlestown, ri while slowing down at an intersection. I had no warning flashers or brake lights and the doors would not open. With the help of the local police dept. Who assisted me until the car restarted, I was able to drive it to a local residence. The Ford dealership sent a flatbed truck to tow it back to the facility where I purchased it. The dealership continues to return the car to me as it doesn't fail when they drive it due to its erratic nature, and service by several gm dealers they have sent it to have not been able to fix the problems either. I am stunned to learn that this vehicle is not on the recent recall list from gm regarding power steering issues at slow speeds. In a phone call to gm customer assistance on 9/21/18 (case number 8-4650063752) the representative confirmed that my vehicle was not on the list. I trust that by reporting these problems to you gm will be able to resolve this issue and insure my safety and those around me while driving. I appreciate your assistance and would be happy to provide any documentation I have available if requested. Attached are pictures of the vehicle and the id plate from the side of the car.

3 Engine Belts And Pulleys problem of the 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 03/02/2018

Have owned since 2010. Have had the vehicle lose power while driving a couple of years ago. The throttle body was replaced. The vehicle idles rough (you can feel it idle but not all of the time). Dealership said they could not detect a rough idle issue. Later, another issue with the throttle body causing the check engine light and misfires in cylinder (have paperwork inside vehicle) replaced a sensor related to the throttle body. Last Friday, March 2, 2018 driving on a crowded downtown street the Tahoe began to idle rough again, to the point of the seat belts shaking and the engine sounded as if it were about to lose power again (been there done that). Arrived at work placed the vehicle in park and the traction control/stabilitrak message appeared that both were off, then the warning service traction control flashed then to service stabilitrak. I looked into the issue and called the dealer ship as well as the warranty folks telling them of the issue made appt for following day to bring in. Went to drive home, the check engine light is now on and the car is rocking and sounds like it might stall out in rush hour traffic. Limped the car to the closest dealer out of fear of an accident should the car shut down driving home. Researched online, found that this is an issue with a TSB issued # 11273 that noone has ever mentioned with the multiple times the vehicle has been repaired due to the issue listed in the bulletin that could have caused a devastating accident as I drive 5 - 6 kids to school every morning and can not imagine why this was not shared with me as an owner (registered with gms website with the VIN) so I am sure to receive updates for issues just like this, that no one has ever mentioned even though the repairs are identical to what is stated in the gm issued technical service bulletin # 11273.

4 Engine Belts And Pulleys problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 08/27/2017

While driving in the summer, my wife informed me that the vehicle had stalled and almost died--shortly after, the ac was not working. I left work and came to her--found that the compressor belt had shredded off. Took the vehicle to dealer and they replaced compressor. A month later, my wife was driving home on the interstate and the vehicle started stalling and jerking. The check engine light started blinking and traction control light also illuminated. I trailered the vehicle to our home a few miles away. I did notice the long bolt holding the new compressor was loose (1/4" space between bolt head and washer). The bolt was tightened, but did not appear to be a contributing factor. When idling, the engine jerks so hard that the entire car shakes-the engine nearly dies. . For some time, the vehicle has produced an unusual purring/clicking noise while navigating thru a parking lot or something at slow speeds--sounds like in the transmission or torque converter? the vehicle is being towed to the dealership now for their diagnosis.

5 Engine Belts And Pulleys problem of the 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 01/03/2008

I have a 2001 Tahoe with a 350 motor in it with 136,000. It began to make a noise so I took it to a mechanic. First we thought it was a pulley, but after taking the valve covers off it was noted that the noise was louder and the oil supply to the heads was not what it should be. Now I am told that it would be more cost effective to put a used motor in it for $3,000 (71,000 miles). They can not tell me why this happened and I did my part by maintaining my vehicle on time every time it needed scheduled maintenance. I am sick about this.

6 Engine Belts And Pulleys problem of the 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 12/31/2005

: the contact stated while driving the abs activated, causing the contact' to lose control of the vehicle. The contact applied pressure to the brakes twice before the vehicle stopped. After the first incident there was extended stopping distance at low speeds. The dealership determined there was corrosion on the abs sensors. The abs sensors were cleaned in December of 2004. The abs problem recurred, and outdoor temperatures decreased. The serpentine belt was replaced. Updated 01/19/06.

7 Engine Belts And Pulleys problem of the 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 12/14/2005

I brought my 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe to alexandria Buick-pontiac-GMC in alexandria, virginia on December 14, 2005 because the abs light kept coming on in the dashboard. Mechanic diagnosis was speed sensors were missing. He replaced the hub assemblies and speed sensors. Total repair was $1064. 54. I then found out that a recall on the problem I had just repaired was going on in the "rust belt" states and canada. The recall was for the whole northeast part of the country down to and including washington DC. I work in washington and live about 5 miles from the city. I wrote the gm claims department with copies of every receipt and a copy of the recall letter. They contacted me and told me the repair was indeed one included within the recall, but they were denying the claim because I live in virginia and the recall is only valid in "salt belt" states of connecticut, delaware, illinois, indiana, iowa, maryland, massachusetts, maine, michigan, minnesota, missouri, new hampshire, new jersey, new york, ohio, pennsylvania, rhode island, vermont, west virginia, wisconsin and the district of columbia. I want the recall to be opened back up and to include additional states. I spend every single day in washington, what makes my claim any different from the person that lives 5 miles away from me, but happens to live across the state border? what is different from someone who lives in washington and works in virginia? since my home address was virginia, my claim was denied. The recall campaign # is 05v379000. The engine light illuminated, the serpentine belt was repalced. The water pump was leaking abd the pinion seal was replaced. Updated 02/09/06.

8 Engine Belts And Pulleys problem of the 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 08/26/2003

We have a 2003 Tahoe with a 5. 3l v8. There is a hissing noise and a vibrating in the engine after running for about 15 minutes. The dealership can't fix it and doesn't know what is wrong with it. They think it has to do with the a/c but they replaced compressor and belt and it still makes the noise.
