Unusual knocking noises, performance issues, high rpm, - traction control light is on feels at times the engine is on verge of losing power while I'm driving on the highway with my children and I could get hit check engine light blinking constantly.

Unknown - engine is driving hard and somethings wrong. No one will service my car because they say it’s on a recall, but then when they look up the VIN number it’s not on a recall however there are major issues going on.

Check engine light came on. Upon diagnosis', the engine is misfiring, lifters are not performing correctly and there are critical engine alerts and an estimate of 11,000 to fix. 2021 - 83,000 miles v8 - 5. 3 not the 6. 2 and no one will help me bc my power train expires. I am the only owner. Second brand new Tahoe ai bought from this dealership and they are doing nothing to help.

Several issues with certain popups regarding various indicators on dash and engine not getting enough psi.

Automatic fuel management/ displacement on demand caused lifter failure which caused cylinder failures.

While attempting to accelerate to merge onto interstate/freeway from highway speed of 55mph, experienced significant engine misfire & loss of speed. This happened less than 40 days after purchase of this used vehicle from local dealership, with 30 day "warranty". Vehicle is currently not safe to drive.

3 separate major problems: 03/23 - 8500 miles. Driving at 70mph on highway, received message on drivers display "conditions not correct for shift", car went into neutral, no acceleration possible. Was able to safely get off highway. Stopped car, and restarted, error went away and car was able to be driven further without incident. Chose to not take in for service, 4/23 - 9000 miles. Noticed fluttering noise coming from engine bay when lifting off gas after acceleration. Service eventually found lifter/bearing issue. Whole engine was replaced under warranty. Was without car for 3 months. Further research online found that others experienced the same issue while driving and had engine failure at speed resulting in life threatening driving conditions. 4/25 - 31000 miles. Last weekend, driving at highway speeds and came to traffic standstill in left lane on major highway. Went to accelerate, and received "conditions not correct for shift" message, car went into neutral and would not accelerate. Turned car off, and tried to restart and car was stuck in park. No way to access neutral, leading to blocking of left lane where cars were approaching and avoiding us at highway speeds. Onstar was notified immediately with the severity of danger stressed (2 adults, 2 children and dog remained buckled in the vehicle). However, chp took over 1 hour to arrive, shut down highway and somehow was able to start the car one time and get into neutral for chp to push car safely to shoulder. Dealership alerted me to failed "fuel control module" to have to 3 major engine related incidents that could have lead to accident or death is unacceptable. Online research shows these issues have been common for this vehicle engine and is absolutely unacceptable. For a driver to not be able to safely engage a neutral override is absolutely unacceptable. I was informed by the tow truck driver that a special tool was needed and you had to crawl under the vehicle to engage neutral override.

Check engine light comes on. Car suddenly stalls and engine shutters, shuts off and on. Goes into limp mode as engine shutters at about 15 miles per hour. Gm has not included this 2021 Tahoe which is the same exact condition under product safety recall n212332040 "stall while driving". That recall was issued at the same time or month as this Tahoe was built and sold and should have been included. This Tahoe was towed to the dealer and gm has not been able to supply parts. The Tahoe will soon have been at the dealer for 60 days with no solution. The recall build dates should be expanded to include all gm vehicles with this defect. It is explained "the fuel pump power control modules in these vehicles may contain a supplier manufacturing defect that can cause the fuel pump to fail or operate intermittently, interrupting the flow of fuel to the engine. If the engine does not receive adequate fuel, the vehicle may unexpectedly stall. The driver may see a check engine light, receive an onstar notification that a diagnostic trouble code has been set, or experience a rough running engine. The vehicle may also be placed into a reduced power mode. A vehicle stall without warning could increase the risk of a crash, especially at high speeds".

Fuel pump module failure at 27k miles, experienced total loss of power while driving. Gm issued a recall for this part in other 2021 Tahoes, but said my vehicle is not included in the recall. Researching online this seems to be a large problem with this model year, yet they did not recall all vehicles. Clearly mine was effected.

2nd glow plug failure.

Vehicle smells heavily of gasoline/fuel exhausts to the point of headaches. Vehicle obtained just over one year ago currently with dealer.

Active fuel management for the automobile variable displacement technology was the issue. 6. 2l v8 l87 engine has created the following issues- cylinder deactivation issues transmission issues multiple camshaft issues include camshaft lift issues fuel system problems.

I’ve had to have the fuel line replaced 3 times because of fuel leaks.

While driving, without warning my brake system failed and vehicle did not stop when I applied my foot on the breaks. In addition to while driving up a steep incline the engine failed as I was actively applying my foot to the gas pedal causing vehicle to roll backwards. Most importantly I do not feel confident using this vehicle any further knowing that the brakes are not operating as they should, risking my life and my children’s life is nonnegotiable. Someone help please.

While driving multiple times the vehicle has completely lost power or almost died in the middle of the roadway. It has been taken to the dealership multiple times and they are reporting transmission and catalytic converter issues, however these issues were present at 20,000 miles and taken back to the dealership to be fixed. This is now a reoccurrence of issue and the dealership refused to warranty or fix the reoccurring issue. Loss of power while driving and random acceleration have occurred and almost caused accidents on multiple occasions.

Not power, lot blue smoke, excessive consumption of engine oil, noise in the motor, like something is broken in it.

Driving at 35 mph and the engine cutout and stopped on 8 November 2024. I was able to pull over safely as I was on vandenberg space force base, but at highway speeds in traffic this would have been very dangerous without power. The local gm dealership at lompoc, CA confirmed the fuel pump control module failed, which caused the loss of engine power. There was a recall for the 2021 Tahoe fuel pump control module, but my VIN was not included in this recall. Currently the fuel pump module is not in stock and gm has no estimation for when the part would be recieved.

Engine stalled while driving and vehicle would not restart. Pulled over and was stranded on side of the road. Had vehicle towed to dealer. Was diagnosed as failed fuel pump control module.

Lot white smoke for tail pipe, noise came in the motor, leak gas for tailpipe.

The transmission dropped 2 thousand miles over my warranty at 102k miles. I was taking my son to see his surgeon and the car started jerking and making noises in the middle of a busy intersection. We almost got hit several times trying to get it to the side of the road for safety. I had to pay almost $1800 to get it towed home (we were in peoria about 150 miles from home to see his doctor). There were no indications the transmission was going out and never should have at that mileage. I always do regular maintenance and keep all my receipts. I then paid 6k out of pocket to have it replaced with a better transmission since I learned gm put a bad transmission in the Tahoe I have (I was told I missed the time limit to have it fixed on their dime). Then 6 weeks later a fuel injector and the lifters failed due to the active fuel management. No one was hurt thankfully because I was just leaving home to go to work when I noticed the tapping sound and had my mechanic come look at it. Him and 2 other mechanics confirmed it was the lifters. I had already borrowed money to replace the transmission and can’t afford the $12k quote to fix it. Now it has been sitting in my driveway for almost a year unable to be driven. It is however causing me severe depression. I’m borrowing my son’s car while paying almost $700 monthly on a Tahoe I can’t even drive. I was even more sad when I found out there’s thousands of people with the same issue. Gm should be ashamed of themselves!.

I was stranded and had to have my vehicle towed after the fuel pump control module failed.

I was driving the vehicle, exiting the parking lot when the engine and all electrical components turned off. This could have easily caused and accident as there were multiple vehicles that had to go around me while I tried to restart the vehicle. The engine would crank but not start up and left me stranded in the middle of the road and in the middle of two lanes. When I finally got the vehicle towed several days later (which was not easy because in order to put the transmission in neutral without the engine being on, a special tool is needed) I took it to the dealership. They confirmed it was the fuel controller that went bad for the second time. The first time the vehicle was stuck in my garage at home with the same symptoms. They apparently replaced it with another faulty part that is a ticking time bomb. I have no faith that this won't happen again.

Engine would not start. When pressing the start button, engine would turn over but would only rough idle for a few moments then turn off. Called garage and had vehicle towed. Mechanic advised computer showed defective fuel pump power control module. Mechanic advised gm has recall n212332040 for defective fuel pump power control module but my VIN is not included. Mechanic ordered fuel pump power control module from gm and replaced on my vehicle. This corrected the problem. I am requesting my VIN to be added to the recall and gm to pay for the part, labor and towing.

Vehicle has 10,800 miles. The vehicle repeatedly failed to start. Towed to gm dealership. They say the fuel pump has failed. They say it is not covered (beccause my VIN isn't within the recalls that already exist for this exact same problem). The cost is over $1,200. I contacted chevy corporate and they offered to cover 30%. The dealership is still awaiting the part(s) with no provided delivery date. This could have caused a serious mv accident if it had failed while driving. The vehicle gave no warning of this failure.

It’s happened about 10 times since I’ve owned the car but the dealer can’t recreate it so we are out of luck. The vehicle accelerates on its own. Scenario 1…with constant light steady acceleration, it will lurch forward like I’ve stomped on the accelerator a bit, for about a second then go back to my normal input. Scenario 2, same lurch but this time while coming to a stop at a stop sign with my foot on the brake pedal only. Scenario 3…I’ve been using the adaptive cruise control and had it disengaged by braking, coming to a stop, then parking and turning the vehicle off. Then after getting back in and starting up and slowly pulling forward, the cruise control suddenly and abruptly renegages and attempts to accelerate to the last demanded setpoint. Image this scenario pulling out of a spot at a crowded gas station with pedestrians. I almost ran someone the hell over just now at the gas station and I’ve had enough. The dealer won’t do anything and when I called chevy engineering they put zero effort into it, it was a 20 second phone call stating if it can’t be reproduced at the dealer there’s nothing they can do. This is absolutely completely 100% dangerous and unacceptable.

I can smell gas inside my cabin and also when parked in garage. Mechanic said my fuel injector seals are leaking and this is a known issue . The safety bulletin 18-na-137 November 2019. This is a safety issue and needs to be addressed for the safety of myself and others. Please issue recall immediately so I can get fixed.

Vehicle's 6l80e transmission broke at 101,786 miles. No gears remained but 1st gear which caused the vehicle to lose power when using the vehicle in automatic mode and essentially limped to the repair shop. Repair shop determined whole transmission needs to be replaced 2nd gear was lost, 3rd to 4th gear was shuttering and 5,6 were lost. To replace the transmission it will cost of $4500. There were no warning lights on the dash there were no dtc codes on the obdii scan.

Fuel system control module went out abruptly and without warning resulting in the vehicle and occupant being stranded on highway. This was a brand new vehicle with only 320 miles on the odometer, and happened after only 6 days of ownership. The dangerous nature of above situation is self evident. Unexpected loss of power while in traffic is dangerous. Dealership replaced the module and confirmed it was the cause of the breakdown. No warning, no change in audible sound, or anything else prior to vehicle shutting down suddenly. The selling dealership replaced the module and confirmed.

In September 2024, our vehicle was unable to be start with engine light on. We were unable to get the car into drive or neutral. We were forced to pay out of pocket to have the car towed to dealer, which it needed to be dragged onto the tow truck. Upon inspection at the dealership we were told it was the fuel pump control module that failed and needed to be replaced. They searched recalls and found none on our vehicle but did comment they are replacing these a lot on same type of vehicle. The part was out of stock & backordered likely due to multiple issues, and took 2 weeks to arrive. Reviewing online many have experienced same issue while driving, luckily, we were not. There is an open recall on this part for many models of the same year and time, but for one reason or another our vehicle is not part of that recall #21v739000 / gm #n212332040. The replacement was covered under warranty but does not cover the tow of almost $300.

Stopped for gas, then proceeded to leave store, the check engine light came on, and car immediately shut off while on the highway going ~25mph. Car would not turn back on, and then lights for fuel machine error started coming on. Car sat there trying to turn on, lights off, and then would say push start button, but nothing happened. Car began to shake and continued to try to turn on, yet nothing happened. Car was towed to home, sat for an hour and then started again, check engine light remains on.

Driving on the I-95 I abruptly lost power driving in the left lane, rpm dropped all the way down and speed was rapidly decreasing. I had to pull over on the shoulder in the most safe manner possible for myself and other drivers on the road; but it was not without any risk. The body of the car was rattling on my way to the shoulder and the car shut off before I could put the car in park in a safe place. With my hazard lights on I tried restarting the car but the enging would not turnover, the starter would run and the car would rattle about all whilst creating a traffic jam. Once I noticed the engine light and yielded to the car's inabiltiy to start up, we got the attention of a fhp state trooper who called in a tow truck for us. Getting te car onto the tow truck in traffic also increased the risk associated for everyone involved. Aftert succesfully oading the car, which was no smooth task as the car could not shift into neutral; we took the car to my local firestone. After a diagnostic test done the following morning, we were notified of a fuel pump issue that has been on the recall list for my vehicle, but not associated with my VIN.

Engine began to stall while driving or would not restart after parking. Happened one time while driving on highway [xxx]. Towed to dealer. Same fuel pump issue as recall n212332040 however that build date window closed March 4 2021 and my Tahoe was built in June 2021. Several times over the last month, or so, my 2021 Tahoe has hesitated to accelerate while driving. On 7/31/2024 the vehicle was in park, turned on when the vehicle began idling very hard, shaking the entire vehicle. The engine was turned off and restarted approximately 10min later. I began driving when the vehicle began shaking, the engine light came on, and the engine then turned off while in drive, actively driving down the road (with my child in the vehicle). I coasted into a parking lot and attempted to restart the engine several times, without luck. After sitting for approximately 45min the engine restarted, and I was able to get home. The engine stopped and restarted several more times that evening, without issue. The engine light turned off. The following day the vehicle ran without issue, no engine light on. We took the Tahoe to total performance repair shop where they ran a diagnostic scan of warning light history. The diagnostic scan came back with codes p023f and p129f; fuel pump issues. There is currently a recall for fuel pump module failure on some 2021 chevy Tahoe vehicles. My specific vehicle is not included in the recall but is experiencing the recalled issues.

Driveing home from the grocery store check light can on got home call the dealer Sunday night with the ai bot awswering service had a appointment at 11:30am on Monday, 5. 3l cam, lifter valves ,push rods. Valve was stuck in the closed position no fuel or air could pass tru, destroy cyclinder wall,spark plug fused the valve closed. Bent the push rod and damaged the cam roller. After new motor was in stall still have drivabley problems dealer is asking for 8 new injector on a 36,244 mile SUV.
