I own a 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe premiere with the rst 6. 2l performance package. This vehicle has the optional performance front brake upgrade system. I received the following recall: gm program # n182155600, customer satisfaction program #18119 - spare tire does not fit over performance front brake kit. The vehicle has a 17 inch spare tire which will not fit over the front brakes when equipped with the performance brake kit. The solution proposed by Chevrolet for a flat front tire is a dual tire change (replace a rear tire with the spare and move the rear tire to the front). The Chevrolet dealer is to print and install an insert to the owner's manual describing this dual tire change. This solution compromises safety, especially if the dual tire change has to occur on the side of a busy highway. It does not meet my expectations for a premium SUV. Chevrolet should provide a spare tire (free of charge) that will fit over the performance front brake kit. An appropriate spare tire should have been included with the front brake upgrade option. I called the Chevrolet customer assistance center regarding this issue. Their representative was rude and no help at all. His only reply was that I needed to take this matter up with my Chevrolet dealer. So I did that and the dealer checked with their chain-of-command within Chevrolet. Their zone representative stated that there was nothing else they could do other than provide the owner's manual insert. My complaint is not with the dealer. I do not expect them to provide an appropriate spare tire at their cost. A rim and tire for this vehicle (that will fit over the performance front brake kit) is very expensive. My complaint is against gm and Chevrolet corporate regarding their unacceptable response to this problem.

I purchased my vehicle used on oct 14 2016. I drove it for about 3 weeks in local traffic with speeds 60mph and below with no issues. I then went on a road trip on Nov 7 2016 where I used major interstates that required speeds between 70-75 mph. As soon as I hit the major interstates I noticed something was not right. When the vehicle was set to cruise between 70-75mph and the vehicle reduced from v8 mode to v4 mode the interior of the vehicle began to vigorously shake. The handling and wheel to pavement contact felt stable so I continued my 600 mile trip. At times the shaking conditions made me feel dizzy and somewhat nauseous. I immediately upon arrival at my destination scheduled an appointment at a certified chevy dealer and was seen Nov 14 2016. They test drove the vehicle for about 22 miles and were able to duplicate my problem, however through troubleshooting and inspection could not find anything wrong. I called the number in the warranty manual and started a claim and their resolution was the vehicle was operating as designed, but the gm advisor did say there was a known issue? however they could not tell me why the design made the vehicle do this . To me it sounds like it is a flaw in the design and gm does not know why yet. Through further research I found multiple post and discussions with the same complaint as well as a fox news report where gm spokesman tom wilkinson stated gm knows there is a problem and gm would work with customers case by case to resolve the problem. In my case the resolution was to tell me thats what it was designed to shake. I certainly dont believe what they are telling me . After serving this country in two different combat zones to protect our freedoms its disappointing to know that gm wont stand behind their product as I have stood at the front for this country. L can provide video and dealer service documents upon request.

The car was parked in the garage not running. I opened the lift gate. It opened fine then when I went to put something into the cargo area the lift gate started slowly closing. I backed out from under it and it suddenly crashed closed nearly hitting me. The struts have not worked since. We have to manually open the lift gate and prop it open with a broomstick handle.

The 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe automatic lift gate became a significant danger to those accessing the rear compartment of the vehicle. Typical operation of the automatic lift gate is that the rear hatch opens completely and remains open with a single button click. The same automatic lift gate typically closes and remains shut with a single button click. On or around may 28th, 2015, my son was placing several items in the back of the vehicle when the liftgate began shutting on him. In an attempt to hold the liftgate open, it continued to close forcefully without raising back up. Thinking quickly I was able to pull him away from the liftgate as it continued to clamp anything in its path. My son received a bumped head and scratches as the door shut on him. The issue appeared to be an electrical issue that caused the liftgate to close forcefully and clamp shut without consideration of anything in its path. I also was not able to prevent the liftgate from closing as it just clamped shut, crushing anything in its path. This is a major safety concern and we fear that other people may be injured or killed as a result of this malfunction. There is no rapid functionality to override the the motor (switching to manual) that controls liftgate operations. This could very well have crushed my child if I hadn't been standing next to him. Other issues that occurred at the same time within the vehicle included: 1) a single event where the radio stayed on one channel and would not change without restarting the car was when the issue began; 2) xm satellite radio began working without a subscription; 3) the automatic memory position of the driver seat did not remain in position as typical; and 4) the liftgate would automatically open about 18 inches and immediately close, crushing anything in its path.

Rear lift gate would not unlock via remote or manual key. From the interior, there is no manual override or emergency release to manually open the lift gate door or window. In the event of an accident, escaping from a vehicle that was damaged, overturned or on fire via the rear door would not be possible due to the lack of an emergency rear lift gate release. In my case, I had secured my pet in a pet crate in the rear of the vehicle on a 77 degree day. I could not get him out the rear access, unable to open same by any means. Fortunately I had time and crawled in the back, turned the crate around, folded down rear seats, and removed 100 lb labrador retriever out the second row door. There is a keyed lock blow the lift gate in the rear covered by a plastic door. The key turned and the whole lock cylinder came out. There is no information on this lock in the driver's manual of what it does or does not do. I am having this repaired immediately at my expense. I feel this is a serious safety issue that needs to be addressed by Chevrolet/gm. I was lucky because it was not a life or death situation.

Door lock actuators failed on the two front doors and the driver side rear door creating significant difficulty in both entering and leaving the vehicle. Of particular concern was the great difficulty in removing children from the backseat of the car. The manual locks are out of reach of an adult in the front seat which ultimately requires returning the key to the ignition and lowering the rear window to remove a child from the car. This procedure is time-consuming and I hope that no one ever needs to perform that procedure in an emergency situation such as a fire.
I own a 2006 chevy Tahoe that I just bought in Feb. Up till now I have loved it. My rear lift gate/hatch will not open. After trying several times to unlock it, still it wouldn't open. So I climb inside to try and find a manual release button or handle, I find nothing. I decided to pull out the owners manual and look it up. The only way you can accsses the rear hatch is from the keyless remote that unlocks it. I believe this is a safety issue for several reasons. A crash, be it a rollover, head on, fire or if I plunge into water, you can't get out through the rear accsses. The latch/lock is broken and thousands of GMC/chevy owners are having this same issue. Now I can't help out with taking my wheelchair bound grandmother to and from her doctors apt and her errand runs. The latch costs $400. 00 to replace. Just so that it goes out again?? I don't have that kind of money. It's a default mechanisim that Chevrolet should fix.

The tools provided to change a flat tire do not include the allyn wrench necessary to remove the hubcap cover on the factory installed tires and wheels, without the wrench the tire cannot be changed, also the owners manual that comes with the vehicle makes no reference to the wrench being included in the tool kit provided with the car and also makes no reference to the existence of a hubcap cover or that it has to be removed in order to change flat tires.
