Pulled into a pharmacy, vehicle died and completely shut off while driving. 3400 miles, towed to dealership, March 5, 2026. Still no answer from dealership for why this happened and no loaner vehicle yet because they cannot confirm it's a warranty issue.

While driving down i35 south of wellington KS in our new 2026 chevy Tahoe we experienced a vehicle shift to neutral and no transmission correction available. Coasted to ditch saw “service transmission” notice and so turned off and on engine . Went to derby KS and davis moore chevy in wichita where staff removed the warning service notice on driver info and we continued to molle chevy in blue springs mo. Where they did diagnostic and only showed ambient air fault!! this is scary! we had no transmission and had to get off road safely! please let public and our dealers know and recall all vehicles with this problem. We are afraid to drive this new 3,000 mile chevy Tahoe.
We were traveling over 70mph on a kansa state turnpike near wellington, KS. And all drive power was lost! luckily, being in the right lane we then had to coast to the right ditch lane. We saw a message on driver’s info screen “service transmission”. Tried to shift off drive and back on. . Nothing. So, we shut the engine off and restarted and the message stayed on but we power managed to drive over 20 miles to a wichita kansas chevy dealer called davis moore Chevrolet (recommended by first stop, derby kansas chevy CO,) for solution. Gentleman did a shift on off key removed etc and the”service transmission” light turned off and we continued to drive to kansas city. This is very dangerous!! we are now afraid it may happen again!! losing all power while on road is dangerous!! please respond to recommendations to driving this Tahoe and immediately send recall to us !! one should be issued. Also, let our repair dealer in blue springs mo molle Chevrolet know as we will be going there for repair needed on this brand new 3,000 mile chevy.

I have a 2024 Tahoe that was purchased new from the dealer and has 13,700mi. The first service was completed as required in December with no issues identified. Less than 2 months later the front wheels started making a squeaking sound intermittently when accelerating, coasting or breaking. There were no warning messages. The dealership/mechanic looked over the car & said that the front brakes were measuring 2mm (completely worn out) but no other issues. Before drop off the car computer said above 75% or more for front and rear breaks (green). I have been driving the car in normal condition in southern CA. It seems that the break pads were defective and degraded at an alarming/unsafe rate or that a different component on the car caused them the continuously rub and wear down. The dealership blamed it on owner operation even though they supposedly checked them 2 months before and didn't see abnormal signs of wear. I am very concerned with the quality, reliability & safety of the front breaking system due to the fact that the breaks wore out so fast. I am worried that the problem has not been properly identified and that that breaks will continue to have this problem if it wasn't caused by faulty pads. I have never had a break wear problem like this before on any of the other 5 new cars that I have owned. This is the first american brand car I have owned and hopefully it's not a sign of things to come.

The contact owned a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while stopped by the school to pick up one of his children, the vehicle was parked. The contact then noticed smoke emanating from the driver's front seat. The contact safely removed his occupant, who was his autistic child, seated in the front passenger seat. The vehicle was engulfed in flames. the fire department was called, and the fire was extinguished. The contact and his children did not sustain any injuries. The vehicle was towed to a local towing yard. The insurance company was notified and towed the vehicle to a facility used by the insurance company. The insurance company declared the vehicle a total loss. The contact believes the fire to be related to an electrical failure due to the hood of the vehicle not being damaged. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 134,000.

While driving at highway speed the panoramic sunroof/moonroof shattered/ imploded spontaneously sounding like a gunshot while driving on the highway. There was no debris or road hazard that caused it.
My transmission just randomly went out. I had my car evaluated in December of 2025 and nothing was reported on the transmission at all and as Jan 2026 my transmission went out.

On two occasions my car shut down after hard braking while approaching stopped traffic on a freeway. The chevy dealer has not been able to locate a cause. In both cases I was in the travel lanes when the vehicle shut down and fortunately I was not struck from the rear. It took me time to recognize that the car was dead, place it into park, then recrank it.

I am submitting this complaint to report a potential vehicle safety defect involving the factory-installed running boards on a 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe. The running boards become extremely slippery during light snow or minimal winter precipitation, creating a significant risk of slipping while entering or exiting the vehicle. This occurs during normal use and does not require heavy snow or ice. I have experienced multiple near-falls despite stepping carefully, and the condition is repeatable. Given that the Chevrolet Tahoe is commonly used as a family vehicle and may be accessed by children, elderly individuals, or passengers with limited mobility, I am concerned that the running boards present an unreasonable slip hazard under common winter driving conditions. At this time, no injury has occurred; however, the frequency and severity of the slipping raises concern for potential injury if the issue is not addressed. The running boards are factory-installed and have not been modified. I am requesting that NHTSA review this issue to determine whether the design or materials of the factory running boards meet reasonable safety standards for normal winter conditions. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, [xxx] vehicle: 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe component: exterior – running boards information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Per hendricks Chevrolet in hoover, al "inspected rear diff for metal & found laarge amounts of metal on drain plug magnet. Recommend replacing rear diff due to large amount of metal found in oil. " there was no warning on the vehicle; however, you can hear it loudly when a left or right turn is made.
The rear end of the truck needs to be repair. The dealership says multiple people have needed to order the rear end.
My Tahoe is throwing a low engine oil code and burns through about 2 quarts of oil in between oil changes. Other Tahoes of the same year make and model have been recalled for the same issue but mine was not.
I purchased a 2023 chevy Tahoe in oct 2025. Since then, I have been trying to figure out how to set up the mychevrolet app. The onstar button doesn’t work so I called onstar. After multiple calls, they told me that the account is linked to the previous owner and can’t be transferred because of a faulty telematics communications module. The faulty module is also causing the clock to run slow, which indicates battery drain is beginning. The onstar module failure poses a huge safety and privacy risk. Safety concerns include battery failure that can cause me to be stranded and the fact that the previous owner has the ability to start my vehicle at any time, even while parked in my garage posing a risk to my family’s health/life with trapped carbon monoxide building up. Privacy concerns include the previous owners ability to track my vehicle, lock and unlock doors, access my contacts, call log, location, and more. This is a significant risk. The dealership should not have sold me a vehicle with a defective module without repairing it and now refuse to fix it. This should have been included in gms factory recall for 2023 Tahoe tcu’s or a new recall should be issued. Consumers should not bear the burden to fix a widely known safety, health, and privacy risk.
While driving down the road, we heard what sounded like a gunshot into our vehicle! I pulled over and my top panoramic sunroof had exploded! there was no “point of impact” - no rock or falling debris, we were only going 45mph. It blew up and left fracture lines throughout the sunroof glass from the explosion. I just bought this car less than a month ago from the dealership (used but only 33k miles).
Onstar module is not working. I contacted onstar and they stated to get repair I would need to continue paying for the service. Safety features are now not working due to this issue.
Driving down the highway (open road) and the sunroof spontaneously shattered.
We just recently had the cam shaft and lifters replaced, as the vehicle began experiencing a knocking sound. The repair was supposedly completed, and they gave the truck back. We took the truck back in within a week, bc we continued to hear the sound. They sent it back saying they didn’t hear anything after test driving it. Over the weekend the car shut off after beginning to shake uncontrollably. Now supposedly the camshaft bearing is gone, and the truck experience engine failure. I spoke with someone previously, as the issue being repaired hundred thousands of cars were recalled for the same issue. I was told that it wasn’t on the same line, even though my truck was experiencing the exact issue and fell under the years. We were placed back on the road with our family, with a vehicle.
Roof racks have deteriorated due to sun exposure and have cracked where the contact the top and started leaking. The paint on the roof and hood had also failed. I had to have the top and hood repainted prior to having it ceramic coated. The roof racks leaking have damaged the headliner in the cargo area. I have tried to reseal them with a silicone sealant since removing them or replacing them is too expensive and would require removing the entire headliner to access the connecting bolts.

At a stoplight vehicle wanted to stall out motor was shaking.
Onstar module has completely malfunctioned. Unable to use navigation or receive help in a moment of distress. No warning lights came on.
Entertainment system/radio -- not working. No audio. No audio noise even when the blinker is engaged. After several visits to the internet/youtube I understand this has been a common problem with gm models. Some are able to restart under 'safety mode'. My case . . . Radio comes on when it wants to and then cuts off. My vehicle is 15 months old . . 38,000 miles.
Component failure: ac condenser assembly failed due to thermal cycling cracks in combination transmission fluid/oil cooler design - exact failure documented in gm TSB 17336-05. TSB states "thermal cycling creates a crack that may allow refrigerant to escape. " safety risk: ac system failure after sun exposure creates dangerous interior temperatures lasting 30-45 minutes with family including two teenagers in 95°f+ nc summer heat. Risk of heat exhaustion/stroke during highway travel where immediate stopping impossible. Dealer confirmation: hendrick Chevrolet diagnosed refrigerant leak from upper left condenser on 7/22/25 (invoice ctcs913252, $1,904. 60). Official work order documents identical symptoms and repair operation covered by gm TSB 17336-05 special coverage. Manufacturer knowledge: gm issued TSB 17336-05 acknowledging their combi-cooler design cannot withstand normal thermal cycling, affecting 908,000+ vehicles. Gm provides customer service satisfaction campaign 17336-01 free repairs for this exact defect but denied my reimbursement (case #72260590) solely due to mileage, claiming manufacturing design defect becomes customer responsibility after 60k miles. Symptoms: problem began summer 2024 - ac functions normally when parked in shade but requires 30-45 minutes to cool after direct sun exposure, exactly matching TSB heat-soak failure pattern. No warning lights as system retained sufficient refrigerant until complete thermal stress failure.
The sunroof shattered when nothing hit it driving down the road.
The stabilitrak notification comes on constantly. While we are driving/reversing and turn our steering wheel the whole car will shut down and the steering wheel jerks. It's happened multiple times. It takes forever for the car to turn back on. This is super dangerous and cause myself and my children to end up getting hit by another vehicle while on the road.
I wanted to express a concern regarding my vehicle. There are several wires exposed on my dashboard where multiple cracks have developed over time. I have been hesitant to bring the vehicle in for the airbag recall replacement because I am concerned that the existing damage to the dashboard could worsen during the repair process. My primary worry is that additional cracking could expose more wiring to heat, which may increase the risk of electrical issues, wire corrosion, or even a potential fire hazard. I would appreciate any guidance on how this situation could be addressed safely while completing the necessary recall work. Thank you for your time and assistance. I look forward to your advice on the best next steps.

I’m reporting a transmission failure that occurred unexpectedly on my 2021 chevy Tahoe/the diesel version has been recalled so I don’t know why all the other 2021 Tahoe have not been recalled for this issue . The vehicle began shifting roughly and slipping between gears, followed by a warning message and eventual inability to shift properly. I had it inspected by a family friend who owns a body shop , and I was told the transmission needs to be replaced at a cost of nearly $7,000. I am no longer under powertrain warranty, but this failure feels premature and unsafe for such a new vehicle. I’ve seen many other 2021 Tahoe owners report similar issues online including transmission failure, harsh shifting, valve body problems, and complete breakdowns . This seems like a pattern, and I believe it may warrant investigation. I’m asking NHTSA to investigate whether this is part of a broader transmission defect that poses a safety or reliability concern. Sudden shifting issues and inability to accelerate or reverse are dangerous for drivers and passengers. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
When I get up to a certain speed the car begins to shake. Tires were checked for balance. My public records show a recall # n192261050. I have the product safety recall and it describes this issue in the recall. I bought the car in 2023 and just began experiencing this in June of 2025. It only happens while driving 60-70mph. Have not have this fixed thinking it was a road issue but have had several more incidents with this happening and now it's a safety concern.

Air conditioning could cause a safety problem during hot days, forcing the driver to drive with all windows down and still remain very hot and sweaty while driving. The a/c system in this vehicle is so poorly designed that I've spent $6,000 in 8 years of ownership just to keep the a/c running. The primary problem is that is has a separate rear hvac zone, which requires both high & low side freon lines to run under the length of the vehicle to a rear condenser. These lines are not shielded in any way from being hit by road debris. I'm replacing a leaking rear a/c for the third time at a cost of $1800. These lines should be shielded so they are not getting pelted by rocks and other debris. It's a very bad design that exposes a potential safety issue. When these lines break, it also dumps all of the freon into the atmosphere.
3rd row headrest- not staying upright was recalled prior to current condition not upright 2nd row seat- adjustment cable broken no longer working transmission- pump and valve body failed required replacement.
I have a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe. It is one of the thousands of which the plastic dash has cracked into pieces. My concern is that the loose plastic will hurt someone if the airbag is deployed. Gm should have never used such flimsy plastic on the dashes of so many vehicles.

My 2020 Tahoe stabilitrak has gone off approximately 5 times over the past 2 months April and may of 2025 in one incident my vehicle did turn off all incidents were at low speeds less than 5 mph. Four of the incidents the stabilitrak light turned on and an audible beep, I also lost power to my steering and breaks. When I had the oil change the service tec at the dealer stated they can not test it unless the light was on? has anyone reported or experiences this issues what can be done to fix this issue.
