Tailgate opens on its own repeatedly. Has been happening for several months, even when just sitting parked. Afraid it will happen while driving. Will drain battery as well, as it happens constantly.

I purchased a brand-new 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe. One of the key reasons for choosing this vehicle was its built-in safety and connectivity features, including the onstar system. I also pay more than $50/month for an onstar subscription, trusting that the service would provide essential safety functionality. Recently, the onstar system in my vehicle stopped working. I received no warning, no service bulletin, and no notice from gm or onstar of thhe failure or that this was a known issue. Upon diagnosis, I was informed that the onstar module had failed and would need to be replaced—at a cost of $822 out of pocket. Onstar is a core safety feature that gm actively promotes as part of the vehicle’s value and security. For such a critical system to fail in a vehicle that is barely two years old is unacceptable. I believe this constitutes a product defect that gm/onstar should be held accountable for, especially since multiple consumers are reporting similar issues on public forums. Most of all I had no indication in the vehicle of the failure; there was no check engine or issue light indicating a failure. When I called onstar the only explanation I got was that I should have noticed that the onstar light was out. That’s not sufficient for a safety item you expect to work like the breaks.

The body control module does not work. A new bcm was installed in my car in April 2025. Since then I am having multiple issues, but the safety related issue is with the trailer braking system. It is available for inspection upon request. The dealership is unwilling to try another bcm without it costing me $600 for labor. If I am unable to use my brakes, then I put myself and others on the road at risk. The problem started with a tire monitor system. I was told I needed a bcm to fix the problem so the car would not throw codes. Now, I am being told the problems with the brakes are not comiing from the bcm. There was nothing wrong with my car until I took it to this dealership for a new key faub and a tire pressure monitor error. The body control module in a 2018 chevy Tahoe premier does play a role in controlling the sunroof. More specifically, the sunroof system is supplied power through a fuse located in the driver-side fuse box which is connected to the bcm. The sunroof switches communicate with the bcm via a serial data circuit, and the bcm then commands the sunroof to open or close. Therefore, the bcm acts a central hub in the electrical system of the vehicle and communicates with the sunroof control module to operate it. I learned this from two other dealerships. One dealership in west virginia and another dealership in texas told me this information about the bcm controlling the sunroof and many other electrical parts of the 2018 chevy Tahoe premier. To make it simple, the bcm was replaced. The vehicle is now having serious issues. I consider an unintended activation of the braking on the wheel which causes the vehicle to pull to one side puts me at risk of a crash. Is this yet another failed sensor or part due to the negligence of the service department at smith Buick when replacing the bcm and programming a key faub?.

My family and I were returning from vacation from florida to our home state, north carolina, when our new Tahoe with 5700 miles started to act strangely. We hit bad traffic leaving florida so there was plenty of stop and go type maneuvers. At one point, the vehicle turned itself off and put itself in neutral while we were thankfully going a slower speed due to traffic. I was able to get off the shoulder near the [xxx] and restart the car. It ran fine after restart until it started making a clanging type noise from the engine bay. We stopped again and checked temperatures and fluids and the clanging stopped. About 30 minutes later the clanging and a guttural noise began to occur from the engine bay and the transmission would not shift, keeping the vehicle at/around 4,000 rpm at 60mph. We were able to get the vehicle to a nearby rest stop. My wife, 3 children, and I were put in harm’s way due to gm’s faulty product and poor quality control. To have your vehicle shut itself off and/or not shift, especially on the interstate, is incredibly dangerous to the occupants of the vehicle as well as the motoring public. It is important to note that the vehicle never displayed any warning lights of any kind before, during, or after the incidents described. Almost two weeks later, Chevrolet (cooper Chevrolet s. C. ) has not even diagnosed the vehicle. They have told be that they will more than likely have to tear the motor apart to figure out the issue(s), confirming that the problem has been replicated by their technicians. The Tahoe is equipped with a 6. 2l v8, a motor with well documented issues. The Tahoe is currently located at cooper Chevrolet in walterboro north carolina. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

2 incidents of complete engine power loss while driving. Luckily was able to roll off road safely to curb. Dashboard glitch/flashing multiple/various message, including check engine, conditions not ideal to shift, etc. Would not re-start/shift when attempted. Tried disconnecting battery cable completely and re-connecting and that seemed to 're-set' the system and engine re-started. Incidents were about 30 days apart. "this battery reset" was tried because approx 1 year prior after leaving Tahoe parked at airport for a 7 day trip, it would not start, completely dead. Battery charge/jump would not work. . . Watched youtube videos and someone said to try disconnect/reconnect cable and it worked to start it up at that time & did take it into dealership after that incident and no-cost repairs were made for that issue. Called chevy 3/25/25 on this power loss while driving issue to ask for information/assistance, they advised to take to dealership for diagnostic info/report and depending on result/cause might assist with costs to repairs. Appointment set for 3/28/2025 with salem oregon Chevrolet.

-malfunction---while driving, when I press the brakes to come to a stop, it seems as if the brakes catch but then releases and then catches again. As it releases, it continues to roll. Vehicle is availabe upon request. -safety risk--- because the brake releases and/or eventually not catch at all, this is unsafe because I can roll into traffic -reproduced and/or confirmed--- I have brought my vehicle to a service center to repair a recall and was told to that the issue should be resolved once the recall was complete. The issue was temporarily resolved for approximately one month or so, and now it is back to breaking and releasing. -one can only assume that the vehicle and/or its components have been inspected given that I brought the vehicle to the service center, stated the issue, and was told that the issue should be resolved after it has been serviced. -there were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to this issue.

Purchased 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe on 1/15/2025 with 50,647 miles on it. At exactly the 40 day mark, we noticed a problem when the vehicle began downshifting. When slowing down to stop at a red light, we could feel the transmission begin jerking as it shifted down and the check engine light came on. It has been taken back to the dealership (where we bought it), 5 times as of yesterday and they cannot fix the problem. The engine idles rough, downshifting is extremely hard, check engine comes on and off sporadically. The transmission temperature goes up and the dashboard lighting dims intermittently. This vehicle appeared to be in extremely good physical condition with very few miles, that's why it was purchased.

While slowing for a red light my vehicle shut off, completely powered off. I had to press the ignition start button to turn it back on. I pulled to the side of the road, then two messages flashed on the dash screen, service transmission and service brake assist. I called and scheduled a vehicle service at a local Chevrolet service center. After the service center evaluated my vehicle (in their possession for 72 hours) they stated there were no diagnostic findings and they could not replicate the issue. A vehicle randomly shutting off with no identifiable or repairable issue is a public safety concern.
While driving the vehicle, the transmission stopped shifting and the engine shut off. There was no warning.
The audio system changes radio stations on its on. It also attaches or disconnects bluetooth devices on its on. This has affected the video player and it no longer works.

My vehichle will not go in reverse my wheels are locking up and also my car is going over 6000 rpm when going down the highway and not wanting to shift gears where it is a safety concern for myself and my kids well being.
Vacuum pump and vacuum pump belt replacement. Experiencing increased brake pedal effort, hard brake pedal, and increased stopping distance. Confirmed by an auto shop and mechanic that this is the issue. There was special coverage given by general motors to this vehicle to address this issue that expired in November (but I did not know that this existed). The vehicle has not yet hit 150,000 miles. Request to have my Tahoe special coverage warranty extended to address this issue.
After start up, there is no audio coming from the vehicle. No audio from entertainment system, no audio from turn signal and no audio from fasten seat belt "chime". Restarting vehicle does not change the outcomes, initially. Exiting the vehicle and restarting about 10 minutes later, all audio returns, including entertainment sytem, audible turn signal indicator and fasten seat belt chime (if seat belt is not engaged). This has occured on several occasions since about 11/1/2024.
I have taken this vehicle two times to the dealers that sell Chevrolet. The first time it was there for 5 hours and nothing was done and the second time the service agent said there was no recall on this vehicle when obviously there is one.
The hvac blend/mode door actuator has melted, causing a fire hazard.
Audible warnings for turn signals, blind spot monitoring and lane monitoring periodically quits along with all sound from radio and bluetooth system. Haptic feedback on lane change seems to not function at this time as well. Warning lights function. This has occurred 7 times since oct 22 2024 when the vehicle was purchased. Mfg has been unable to repair.
The brake vacuum pump is bad. It was hooked up to solious and that's the codes it's throwing. Out of no where while driving on the highway my brake pedal became very stiff and difficult to push down. I could barely stop in time off the exit. Now when the truck is in drive it doesn't even move. When you do go u have to put all your might into pressing the brake down to stop. Even then the pedal won't go down. Very dangerous especially since I had my [xxx] daughter with me. Very scary situation. I looked up recall for VIN but I have 0. Which is weird because there's a recall on 2016 chevy Tahoes for this exact symptoms and part. Now I did go to [xxx] and found a recall under my VIN and also a warranty for this part under my VIN. Why doesn't it list a recall for me information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Dash board is cracking around passanger side air bag and above instrument panel. Could shatter into pieces upon air bag deployment sending shards of dashboard flying. Could lacerate air bags. Gm is aware of the problem but failed to recall vehicles from 2007 to 2013 silverado, Tahoe, and suburban.

First: wiper motor stopped working, so it would not spray washer fluid to clean front or rear windows. Multiple people have had the same issue, only way to fix was replace second: rear heat stopped working, dealership said we were the 5th Tahoe in the last 2 weeks with the same issue. The "lines needed blown out" was what they said the fix was.

What failed: main radio. Safety concerns: gm sent an over the air update to car around July 5, 2024 and the update broke the whole radio system to my car. I now have no access to onstar, bluetooth for phone safety, maps, blinkers on side mirrors, radio etc. Dealer mentioned it is a very common problem with this particular gm product and the over the air update to cars. When I asked to turn this feature off so it doesn't happen again it is not an option. The Chevrolet dealer and a sound system specialist has inspected vehicle. Sound system specialist said this part may only be replaced by the dealer as it is the high end radio system. There was no warning of the update happening. The car was in great condition until this update was pushed through in the middle of the day. Now I am being quoted $2000 to fix it with no guarantee that it wont happen again.
My dash is cracked and rattles really bad when driving and sounds like pieces breaking, when I hit bumps in road you can see the dash move and bounce and poses a safety risk if in an accident and airbags go off the pressure can further break dash and send pieces of sharp plastic in the faces of passengers, there is thousands of complaints online and social media about the dashes of chevy and GMC trucks and suvs cracking and in several cases totally breaking apart into pieces due to the faulty cheap materials used to make these dashes. This is a potetial serious and lethal defect if in an a accident and these pieces of plastic go flying into people like shrapnel.
I was driving to work today and I heard what sounded like an explosion, so I stopped and pulled to the side of the road and checked everything and I seen that the sunroof glass was broken, I have only ever used the sunroof twice and that was to see if it was working. My safety and others on the road were at risk because if I would have had the sunroof sliding shade open the glass would have fell on my head or in my face. Also anyone driving behind me I'm sure the glass flew on their vehicle and could caused an accident. I got to work and called the local Chevrolet dealership in town and they said there were no recalls for this problem, but yet I looked it up under GMC forums and there has been other people saying it happened to them, especially the same year and make and model. My vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police or insurance yet, I reached out to the Chevrolet dealership and they said there was nothing they could do to help because there were no recalls on my vehicle, so I asked the girl in the service department who was higher then her and could help me because I did nothing wrong and did not feel that I should have to pay to fix this problem. She then gave me customer care contact information and I am waiting for a response. There were no warnings or symptoms or any messages on the dash, my sunroof glass just exploded without any warnings.
The touch screen glitches. While traveling depending on maps I can't safely drive and follow the screen.
The radio, the vehicle will just completely shut down, and stop in the middle of driving. The vehicle has been to repair person, who can't seem to find out what is happening. I have not taken it to a chevy dealership this time, nothing has been inspected by police or insurance. No crash has happened, yet!!!!!! just before the engine would cut off, the stabilitrack would light up, but that is because of no steering during the time the engine shut down. It take the vehicle about 3 seconds to 1 minute for the vehicle reset and restart. This is very dangerous because I could get into an accident. The mechanic I took my SUV to couldn't find a code to repair the issue. There is definitely something wrong with my SUV.
The vehicles have a serious defect that causes the air conditioning systems to crack and leak refrigerant, lose pressure, and fail to function properly to provide cooled air into the vehicles. These failures lead owners and lessees to incur significant costs for repair, often successive repairs as the repaired parts prove defective as well. As summer temperatures in many regions soar into triple digits, this leaves escalade, sierra, suburban, Tahoe, silverado, sierra and yukon owners with vehicles they say are undriveable due to concerns about child, pet, and driver safety. I would hope gm will cover this ac problem since I am just outside of my certified warranty and have kept up with all maintenance requirements per manual. See link below that I have found to be a common problem with the condenser. I am not a happy customer here, definitely deters me from buying another chevy/GMC if gm does not cover the cost under warranty. Per link below you have to constantly contact gm to argue this common problem to get them to agree to cover it. I had it diagnosed by hoselton fairport NY last Tuesday, they wanted $400 just to touch my ac to start the diagnosis and to put a $40 can of freon in it. It didn’t hold after 3 days. I had my brakes done. 2019 chevy Tahoe. Also lawsuits going on about faulty condenser. If anyone else has this issue I would definitely suggest contacting gm cs before forking over $1200+. . The a/c compressor on my 2019 Tahoe with 60,000 miles no longer works. It will not blow cold air out and was not discovered until it was super hot outside. This should not be happening to a vehicle that I've had less than 5 years and with the average amount of miles on. Since bumper to bumper warranty is now only 3years or 36,000 miles it is also out of warranty, leaving me to fix on my own dime. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other than myself. There were no warning lamps or messages or symptoms prior.
Water is leaking through my back hatch on the left side(passenger side) the roof is wet and staining with water spots.
One day I was driving normal and my engine light and two other lights came on. It dropped my speed under 30mph and I couldn't pass the gas. It said reduced engine power, service stabilitrak and service traction. I immediately took it to auto zone then placed it in the shop at the dealership. They had my truck for almost 2 months and finally said they fixed it. It ran ok for a month or so. I was so scared to drive because it does it randomly. Boom it happen again now im frustrated because what is the problem. Called shop they said bring it back they will have a new person look at it. They had it for a month again. Paid more money. Then boom a month later the same thing. So at this point im calling no one is answering they ignored me so I called the customer service on the truck to complain. I had to get rentals and everything with the same problem it is over a year later. No answer and nobody called back nothing. I parked my truck for months and yesterday June 24th the lights came on again. I have heard alot of my friends and family say they have a chevy vehicle and they did/do the same thing.
