Four problems related to electrical failure have been reported for the 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. While driving approximately 70 mph, the speedometer read 110 mph. The contact stopped the vehicle for a few minutes to allow the speedometer to reset, but it only decreased to 90 mph. The dealer stated that there was electrical failure and the instrument panel console cluster needed to be replaced. The vehicle has not been repaired. The contact must use her gps to determine how fast she is driving. She feels that GMC should be responsible for the repair. The failure mileage was 75,000 and current mileage was 78,734.
Bad electrical problem. My side mirrors arent working at all. My rear brake lights are always inoperative. I always get a constant vibration comming from the engine. My gaerbox sometimes freezes or gets stuck. Poor fuel efficiency.
This vehicle has had multiple failures in the last 12 months. Left side brake light replaced two times before brake light circuit board was replaced. Right side headlight failure, bulb replaced. Ac quit working. Two trips to the dealer to a find compressor failure. The compressor was replaced. Latest and worst failure was a total electrical failure. Only the items controlled by the rap were functional. The vehicle quit running in the middle of the road. Could not be restarted and the transmission could not be moved from the park position. Vehicle had to be left in the middle of the road and abandon for safety of the passengers. This was also a hazard to other vehicles. If there is an override to get the vehicle out of gear it should be in the owners manual. The vehicle had to be dragged up on the two truck. Vehicle is at the dealer and no resolution to the problem has been found.
The vehicle experienced an electrical system failure. Which resulted in the gas light coming on, then the vehicle dying out. Gas mileage showed less than it should had been. The security system light failed. . The check engine light illuminated on numerous occasions.
